Im a Toyota tech in Sacramento, I think it depends on wear you work. I’m falte rate at a high volume dealer so my checks don’t really change much. We’re pretty busy all year round. The amount of taxes taken out hasn’t changed either.

I would leave CA as fast as I could, come to the east coast, make more money, have all the guns you want, and your sport cars can pollute and nobody cares!
Haven't worked flat rate but for me, fleet and hourly is it. Can get repetitive but the steady pace and predictable checks is alright. Medium/Heavy duty=bigger bucks as well but I don't disagree we're taxed out big time
