If there's any fighting game that needs to be ported to modern consoles, it's Capcom VS SNK 2. I played it so much on an arcade cabinet at the local movie theater, as well as on the PS2 and Gamecube. God, I miss this game.
For sure...I remember going to our local rental store here to play it with some of my friends, we played on the PS2. That was a long, long, long time ago. I was hooked as a kid to this, catchy beats and a roster of amazing characters. I just wish that I knew what I was doing with it back then lol.
That Intro where Joe get shamed by Geese (The Boss Character) reminded me of the second Fatal Fury Movie where Karuser told Joe to be quiet as he was throwing him across the Room

There's just not enough stupid arguments or pithy insults or derogatory woolie memes (woolie killed a guy playing football, woolie will punch you in the face if you eat breakfast in front of him) or Pat stating his opinion and being instantly proven wrong to the delight of everyone else.
Man, Sakura is so good in this game. My friend is an OG Sakura main (as in ever since she debuted) and he was terrifying with her in this game. One of the brutal things you can do with her is to use her Hadoken (we nicknamed it the Hado Spark, since it's point-blank) when someone's getting up. The attack alone does fair damage and can knock back, but more importantly, it does a TON of guard damage. So, if you use it as a pressure tool on your opponent's wake-up, they'll either try some kind of wake-up attack if they have one, block (tearing their guard gauge apart) or taking another hit. Now, of course, that's just a small thing, since she has so much she can do...
I'd get a kick out of it if, in the next Capcom VS game, Morrigan has an alternate costume that is her old sprite. It would be a technical challenge, I think, to map 2D images to 3D motion capture to make it work, but it would be hilarious if it does.
One game I was supposed happy to see on the PSN store for my PS3, bought it straight away one of the best PS2 fighters ever up there with SF Alpha 3 (own original PS1 disc), and Marvel Vs Capcom 1 (which I wish they would release on consoles and steam)
I missed the announcers in fighting games, they were so enthusiastic during old fighting games. Killer instinct combo breaker, from MvC2 selection screen and through the fights, MK round 1, finish him to ooo--heee. Now idk about guilty gear games cause I didn’t play them. I don’t recall SF series ever having an announcer though. My favorite is MK Trilogy and MvC2
I used to make Custom chars, like The Joker (Using Yamazaki), Rolento as Mario, Raiden as Kirby, Blanka as Sonic, chang as Eggman and pretty shitty "Alt Skins"
Also you can basically make a super frightening "Oni Dan" keep the pink gi, male the entire skin black with a glowing red eye, I swear this is so great

I used to love this game so much. Emulation is nice but I would love to see it actually brought back. I want another 2D pixel street fighter game again. Bring this one back with good online and make CVS 3 as a 2D pixel art game too.
I remember picking this game up used for me and my buddy from EBgames for 5 bucks a piece for gamecube back in the day. Best 10 bucks I ever spent hands down.
I think this is the best 2d fighting game in the world. I've never found one that compares to it even a little. Don't forget there's an option to create your own sprite for each fighter
