I've never wrote a comment on RUclips, so my first comment is for Matt. So Matt, thank you for all these epic moments you offert us in these 4 years. I wish you all the best for your next challenges.
I am going to miss Matt. It's weird because none of us really "know these guys", but you still feel a personal connection to them, you know. There will be new GCN Presenters but Matt is unique and irreplaceable. I shall miss that laugh of his. Top moments; The recent video with Emma in Andalucia was for me really enjoyable. And I can't forget that one where he fell of his bike jumping over a small log when he was cyclocrossing, Classic Matt that was.

Well a year and a half later I found GCN and the sister YT channels and while everyone has had all that time to move past this sad moment, it starts today for me. Thank you, Matt, for your time insight and exceptional contribution to the GCN Blooper reels. You and GCN have helped get me back on my bike after 15 years of absence. I can't thank you enough!
May I suggest you look for the "Sigma sport" channel. In there you'll find Matt and his wonderful cafe ride series where he goes out for a spin with pros, current and former. Cavendish, Blythe, Gerrans for example. Just in case you haven't found him after his move away!

The "3 friends go biking together"-feeling was characteristic for your succes, the combi of humor and knowledge was top. Matt had a huge part in that. GCN will never be the same.
What an absolute bummer. But enough about me. Really sad news that Matt is leaving GCN, it just won't be the same. Favourite Matt moment, the cycling etiquette video from summer 2014, I watched this whilst thinking about taking up cycling. This directly led to the purchase of a road bike and years of harassing people that wear GCN tshirts. This quote from Matt stuck with me "It's who we are". Thanks Matt, and good luck with all your future endeavours.

I got into cycling through a cycle to work scheme about 2 years ago. Started off doing 3 or 4 miles. Then I signed up for my first 50 mile cycle thinking it would be a gruelling experience. Searched for "how to cycle 50 miles" and the first words of GCN I heard were of Matt saying "If you're new to cycling, then riding 50 miles is going to seem like a very big challenge. And it is! But it's also very achievable". It was! And now I'm doing 100 miles a week regularly and haven't looked back! Thanks Matt for all the help you and the guys at GCN gave me. All the best! :D

Dear Mat; After coming back from knee surgery 4 years ago cycling became my physical therapy and my new go to sport, but I didn't know to ride a bike correctly. Thanks to you, I pick up the information I needed to get the correct bike for me , nutrition both on and off the bike, how to ride up the hills, ride in the rain and how to descend steep hills. I have followed you up the Dolomites on a spin bike more time then I can remember and I got faster and stronger with each session. You got me thru my first 50km, 100km & 100 mile rides. I'm now training for a Pittsburgh to Washington, DC ride - 340 miles in three days! I really enjoyed watching you because you are closer to my age (56) then Si or Mat (but I do enjoy dropping 20 somethings, you tough me that too) . I hope GCN next presenter will be an older guy to inspire us aging guys like you did. Good luck in your new job!
Although I’m more XC MTB than a road cyclist, I always enjoy GCN as well as GMBN. You guys have good chemistry and are always interesting and informative as well as entertaining. It’s a shame to loose Matt as he’s provided me with many laughs and much entertainment over the years. Probably my favourite GCN presenter, good luck for the future!

If you haven't yet heard Matt do race commentary then you are in for a treat, he is really good. Eurosport has discovered that as well. We will all miss Matt on GCN but I like that he is going out on a high note - those Andalucia episodes last week are among the best GCN has ever done. Watching Matt's intro to cyclocross videos was how I got started racing. I was so scared to enter my first race and watching Matt have a go and not taking himself too seriously really helped me just get out and go for it, and not be afraid to fail!! Now four years later, I get to race my bike for a living. Thanks Matt and GCN for kick-starting what is now such a big passion in my life!

When I first discovered GCN about 2 years ago I kinda binge watched episodes for a while. My kids would come to see what I was watching because there always seemed to be one guy who was laughing hysterically they said. Even though my kids are not big into cycling they know who Matt is. As an older cyclist" I'll miss Matt's "experienced" commentary! His laughter and good nature in the early day's of GCN kept bringing me back for more. He really is a credit to the team and will be missed. Best wishes for much success and good fortune in your next adventure.

Watching Matt's intro to cyclocross videos was how I got started racing. I was so scared to enter my first race and watching Matt have a go and not taking himself too seriously really helped me just get out and go for it, and not be afraid to fail!! Now four years later, I get to race my bike for a living. Thanks Matt and GCN for kick-starting what is now such a big passion in my life!

When I first discovered GCN about 2 years ago I kinda binge watched episodes for a while. My kids would come to see what I was watching because there always seemed to be one guy who was laughing hysterically they said. Even though my kids are not big into cycling they know who Matt is. All the best Matt; you’ll be missed.
