I have one of these. Will it strengthen a wifi signal to my basement roku setup? I have a CAT 5 wire that I used previously on a Frontier box.

you can factory reset. It will wipe out any static ip address and be DHCP. After you can use pfsense dhcp leases. cisco findit utility, or something like advance ip scanner to locate devices on the network.

I'm torn into AP1832i vs WAP371. Any suggestions?
I don't know anything about the AP1832i. But for a few years i had the WAP371 in my house (in the basement), Was able to reach second floor with 2.4 - with 5G the signal was low reaching the second floor. If I placed the access point in the centre of the house i would have full coverage. It was able to handle 2 HD streams on netflix and a dozen low usage devices. Every 3 or 4 months required a reboot. I've used the WAP 561/571. these models are far more reliable except they have a terrible signal strength. the WAP 581 improves on the signal strength but fails big time on the reliability. I have installed 2 of these and have frozen my installs until cisco figures things out.
how do you find the ip ?
you can use cisco FindIT program to locate cisco hardware on the network.
