Po hodně dlouhé době jsem si vyhledala Petera,díky němu jsem si zamilovala operní pěvce.Krásně zpívá i je krásný.Ale nějak zmizel ,zajímalo by mě zda ještě zpívá.Takového pěvce mělo Československo jediného.Byl úžasný v Prodané nevěstě s paní Beňačkovou,také užasnou naší operní pěvkyní.❤❤❤

There are only few of them to be even compared to Dvorský at his peak period. If you can´t hear and not able to recognise his excellent singing technique, beautiful and warm timbre or one of the finest legatos you must be deaf. He used to be highly acclaimed for his numerous remarkable performances throughout the most important opera stages in the world. I wish you could record your version of Nessun dorma, post it here and start competing with Dvorský.

Wrong. There are a number of Pavarotti's Nessun Dorma's around You Tube that are PRETTY "pedestrian". This Nessun is pretty decent, not perfect, but pretty decent. Pavarotti himself throughly enjoyed Dvorsky. His Najkrajší kút v šírom svete is a commanding performance.
Dejando a un lado a la gente estupida, creo que Dvorsky es un buen tenor lirico con un bello timbre que en esta aria va claramente en la linea y estilo de Pavaroti, y esta claro tambien que ahi Pavaroti es el rey absoluto hasta el momento. En la otra linea mas spinto- dramatica, serian Corelli&MDM los ejemplos mas absolutos.
I loved it! He gave himself too generously in the end and ran out of breath in the last oo. Also he shouldn't sing it the way Pavarotti does. It would serve him better to sing it in a unique style of his own, or at least like Jussi Bjorling or Domingo
I admit Domingo often yell. But after all Calaf is a tartar warrior! Hear 1989 Domingo-Levine Turandot. He yell when He must yell (il bacio mio ti dà...) and he is softly elsewhere (dimmi il mio nome...) In Nessun Dorma he is very fine (hear the wonderful pianissimo in "quando la luce splenderà"). Domingo has sung Calaf many times in many importants theatres (MET, La Scala, Wiener Staadtoper, Arena di Verona...).
I've been looking for an mp3 version of his rendition of la Donna e mobile for years and haven't found it. Anyone know of a place it can be found? It was featured in the Punisher but was not on their soundtrack :(

Naozaj si myslim, ze ak je jeho ego vacsie ako pravda - o ktorej vie - ze mu to vooobec, ale vooobec uz nespieva, tak je to smutne. Odist mal uz davno, pred 12rokmi... Ale nie, ved peniazky treba? No it's not! It's very high for a dramatic baritone, but not for a tenor. A D5 or D flat 5 is very high for a tenor. B4 is small fry even for a dramatic tenor, at least it should be.
Pavarotti is wondeful singer and he sang often this aria in concert. But it's not right for him. His performance in the Zubin Metha recording is amazing, but he sang rarely (and with limitated success) Calaf on the stage. Pavarotti is a lirico (almost lirico-leggero) tenor. His voice is too clear and light. Calaf ask a very dramatic and strong voice (like Corelli, Domingo, Dvorsky)
Is Vickers a second class tenor?! You know that there is nuances to what kind of tenor voice you are. That has nothing to do with struggling for the Bb 4. But if you decide to sing the italian romantic repertoire , and are a more tenore robusto, you will pray for getting a new job at the gas station for the change of living.

@WGJ06 He was referring to the vowel "E" in the word vincero, which is a B on the musical scale. You did not have to scald him for that. Peace.

Dvorsky is one of the few top tenors singing the Czech repertoire--which is now often performed in its native tongue, instead of English or German.

Dvorsky is not a dramatic tenor, nor is Domingo. Domingo is a lyric tenor. Corelli is a spinto and Del Monaco is a true dramatic tenor.
