    This man is definitely a keeper. Now I see why he is happily married! He is an absolute sweetheart, loves to cook, and I loved the way he talked to his wife with complete love, kindness and respect. He needs to write a book on "How You To Can Be A Real Man!". It would be a best seller because all us women would buy it and make our men read it! Thank you for this wonderful video and thank you for sharing your family life as well!

      Thank you so much for your kind words. You're gonna give him a big head. Just kidding. He is very much a "keeper". We've been married since 1978. I don't think we've mentioned it much, if any, in our videos, but he's been dealing with cancer for over a year now and he's in the hospital right now with a blood infection. I read this comment to him, and he really enjoyed it. He's doing really good, though, as you can tell by his videos. He just gets these infections sometimes because his immune system is so low--but his spirits are high. With prayers and God's help, we're gonna beat this. ❤️

      I’m a Charlie and Polish. I call fried cabbage and noodles kapusta… Polish for cabbage. Never tried sugar and I probably won’t. Also, if you salt the cabbage first while it’s in the pot, it makes plenty of its own water.

    • @janetsmart-countryliving1059
      @janetsmart-countryliving1059  Месяц назад +1

      @charleswalter2902 Someone else mentioned that about the salt. We do salt it in the beginning, but since we have so much in the pot (and not just a skillet full), I'd be afraid to chance it. I don't see how that salt could reach all the way to the bottom and make juice before it would scorch. I'll probably just keep on adding a little water just to be on the safe side and to keep me from worrying. 🙂 Thanks for telling us the Polish name for cabbage.

    Mr Charley, instead of adding vegetable oil, try frying the lil smokies to not only brown them, but they will release some of the ir flavor & your not adding more oil to your diet. Or u can add bacon grease to add to that smokey flavor from your lil sausages. Now, that's country right there!!

    Cabbage for money, black eyed peas for luck, and corned beef for health. And make sure the first man through the front door after New Year’s Eve is a tall dark haired man.

      Sounds right to me. We always have cabbage on New Year's Day. When I was young, Mom would put a silver dime in it. My grandma always went by the 'first footer' superstition. She always made sure it was a male who came in the house first on New Year's Day.

      @@tinaravenstein2927 I have never heard the saying about making sure the first man through the frontbdoor after New Years Eve is a tall dark haired man! Interesting! What is the belief/significance behind that? Just curious... may need to incorporate that! Would not be too difficult either.... my husband is 6'2" and still has dark hair mixed with gray. We may have a few years left before all of the hair is gone 🤔 lol!!

    The rest is the same as your recipe. I just love it. I got the recipe down south at a dinner. Thank you.
    I will try your version.

    Hey, love that Recipe, can't wait to try it, and when I was probably around 5 years old my family and I lived on a Ranch in
    Gandiville, I probably spelled it
    Incorrectly, but any how it was owned By Donley and EsseeFields, and we rented it for about 2 years, and Mr Fields raised the older type of Black Angus cattle and they were absolutely beautiful, what wonderful memories I have of the 100, plus acre Cattle Ranch, and some of the finest Neighbors you could ever meet!
