Years later, this thing still looks bad ass. I don't understand why people are sleeping on this engine. The raptor version puts out 500+lbft of torque for almost the entire rev range....that's more power than the old skool Buick and poncho 455 sd's . This setup is a GN killer in every sense. The raptor v6 with a tenspeed 👹oh my god why has no one done that yet!
Sure, but a 3.5L twin turbo V8 would be even cooler, and is a missed opportunity. Who cares if you have to make them smaller this is America and we like V8 rumble!
@@eclipsegst9419 your not wrong but the whole thing behind a factory, small cube, turbo car is simply that. The turbo and super coupe made more power from a smaller engine. The smaller engine is lighter and can be mounted further back and lower down to improve every aspect of the chassis. Hear me, I love a nasty V8 but a 500hp/500lbft 3.5 V6 in this chassis would do a lot of ego stomping at a track.
Freaking awesome absolutely amazing I love the car and the engine swap. I wish my dad would have kept his turbo coupe. He did a 500hp 351 Windsor back in 1998. It was carburetor ofcourse do to lack of technology back then.
Wow! Great car! Brings back memories as many years ago I had the 86 Turbo Coupe (before the intercooler) and I loved the ride and handling of that car! Good video and great car. Congrats! You just earned a sub😀
That's a great engine swap, I considered this but wasn't sure that it could be done! Great job... I'm going to try an engine swap with an Australian Barra in-line 6 Turbo😉
@@nolanmenne7597 Yeah I've been paying close attention to Adam lol 😁. Those are my two favorite engines right now the EcoBoost V6 and the Barra inline 6. I like the EcoBoost with a big turbo conversion and E85... Apparently having a decent fuel pump is one key to those EcoBoost engines. But they're getting well over a thousand horsepower out of those Barra inline 6's with a single turbo which is astonishing, I guess the iron block is key to handling close to 40 lb of boost.

I have an 87 t bird and I love the turbo sound while driving but I also might consider a swap for a v8 carberateur but if I do that the v8 must at least have 300bhp and I want it to be a manual. Any advice?

The only thing I can remember my dad doing was changing the front springs because of the weight difference from the 4 cylinder to the v8
