Drum cover of “Only The Son (Yeshua)” from the Christian band The Newsboys.
One of the upcoming new songs for the worship services at the church where I serve.
I drummed to a drumless song track generated by removing the original drum track using XTRAX STEMS software.
I triggered a kit from Addictive Drums 2 from the UNITED POP expansion and added an audio file generated from the MIDI file of the same performance that triggered the Session kit from Native Instruments’ Studio Drummer.
This converted Gretsch Catalina Elite acoustic kit is fully triggered by Maganattrack Cymbolic low-volume cymbals, HC-2 hihat controller and kick, snare, and tom triggers.

Sal, Nice post.. Michael Tate, Lead singer of Newsboys is a close friend of mine.. When I was with Degarmo and Key DC Talk opened up for us and Michaeland I Became close. He is truly a great guy.. Your elecronics are smoking sounding.. I might have to get a similar kit soon.. I'm assuming your playing with the their drum track on this one though.

Thank you for the critique on the kit sounds. I’m triggering some sample software, such as Superior Drummer 3, Addictive Drums, or Steven Slate Drums, I don’t recall. I play a converted ekit in church, triggering Superior Drummer. The really cool thing about using drum sample software is having multiple drum kits and settings to choose from.
I’m playing to a drumless song track that I removed the drums using XTRAX STEMS software.
The other really good benefit using an ekit is being able to record drum tracks.

Charlie, there is a trigger on the bell and one on the bow with each having its own input on the module and sound assigned to each. Thanks for watching the video.
Great videos! How is that HH controller HC2? Do you like it more than the VH12? Do you think it will hold up over the years?
I use the HC-2 controller in 5 church services a week and it’s holding up pretty well after using it for over a year, though I had to make some modifications to the unit by propping it up with wood pieces to het it to trigger well with the hihat pedal footboard.
I do like the VH-12 and still use that on my TD-12/20 kit.
