I still think it's one of the best. The closest we've ever gotten is Child of Light. I just really love the ability to potentially never allow enemies to get a turn with how the turn order worked.
The genius of Grandia is that it changed it's mood in the second disk, a fresh yet exciting feeling. Especially when in battle, such as this amazing theme.
Grandia, one of the best RPG's I have ever played. This theme is fucking amazing. Grandia is a coming of age story, where a boy becomes a man! This music reflects that perfectly. From boy to man, from novice to master.
Haven’t played this since I was in elementary school, yet this is the one song I remember, and vividly. The other thing I remember is “Power of the universe! Dragon King Slice!” Lol
This theme really captures the feeling of turning into the man you have to be to save the world, we can't be kids any-more only way to save the whole damn world is to keep moving forward faster and more furiously than ever and its time to kick some random monsters ass!
So I just beat the Dom Ruins and Justin is still being an annoying, reckless adventurist. He gets cooler still though, right? :O I heard the game is slow in the beginning.
So much to be said about this fantastic game series! The original Grandia, by far had the best musical composition. This battle track hit me in the face when I got to Disc 2. I was like....a new disc, and new music? Well then. But then it dawned on me how serious the game turned right afterwards. Grandia has gone into my top 10 list for best games ever. Will Grandia 4 ever be made, and which development team/studio would have the cajones to handle it properly? I'm waiting! :)
Online installment probably killed it, and original director is no longer with us. And for many series, you could say it was their own project, so it's not very likely at all.
@@hitkid2456 Also from what I recall the ownership of it has changed hands many times and they aren't going to do anything with it other than just HD rereleases and what not of the original ones.
@@Manwes_Inspiring_Trax I haven't really looked into it. I just know by talking with a friend that: the creator died some time ago, and the current IP owners aren't going to make more. And it just seems they want to cash in the HD releases, which my guess, would be limited to 1 & 2 because those are really good stories. I've played Xtreme a lot, but its very dungeon grindy/crawler. And I never finished 3.
How can a battle theme swap coupled with a disc swap get a human soul like mine so excited with such simple things, it felt like a whole new start. No game captures so well the feeling of adventure that the original Grandia did. None that I know at least
I name this as the all time battle theme I've heard in all my years of RPGs. Nothing has ever quite captured this level of epic. Noriyuki Iwadare, you have my utmost gratitude for creating this track!
This Song inspires me since 2001, in my 13 years, when i reached on the CD 2. Today i'm 29 and will remember forever. I aways carry this song in my heart.
Because I only ever rented the game for the first time circa 2001, I never reached disc 2 until I owned it years later. I had to restart the game after making it to Dragon Valley and I'd spent so much time with Justin, Sue and Feena that I wondered if I was ever going to meet these Rapp and Milda characters I'd read about in the manual. Right off the bat Disc 2 felt so different. New music, new characters.
Yeah I agree, this was one of the best. I think in the Grandia series, this was the best version of Grandia. The very first one. The storyline, plot, character development and combat system was so enjoyable during that time.
I like dragon quest too and I agree in a way but I still don't think it's as good as Grandia. I have played part 7 and 8 and they require HOURS upon hours of grinding especially 7. However, the gameplay, music and replayability do make it really close to the Grandia series. Everyone has there own opinions though.
I never played dragon quest but i'll try it to see if it's good. A good game that i also recomend you to play is Brave Fencer Musashi. The gameplay is great but i don't know what to say about the story.
I have played Grandia 2 first too. Then I bought The first Grandia on PSN. The first Grandia is my favorite game of all time. You should play it. If you like Grandia 2 then you will LOVE the first.
:40-:50 gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it. That moment where everything just flows together and creates a sense of wonder epitomizes what this magnificent game is all about.
Back in the days where I was a little kid, my bro bought me this game. We never heard of it. The day he bought me the game I was ill and I played it like a maniac. I am much older now and I think I gonna start a new game. Good old games. Just like Breath of Fire, Legend of Dragoon and so on, miss em.
one of the best mc in jrpg ever. justin start as your typical annoying brat, but gradually maturing and by the end he still can be a little jerk, but when the situation called he really can pull some badass cool mc attitude
I remember asking for this game when I was 14 or 15. The game had already been out some time, and I was really happy when I got it. The music is what made me interested in the game. I'm 24 now, and this game is still badass.
I'm so glad I still have this game on ps1 :p still works too n_n had it for like 10 years or something :p my favourite game of all time, along with PSO :3
psionicomniverse BOF3 was incredible too, with the best Dragon system in the series, and introduced stealing enemy abilities! Some of the best music too.
@Merhawk102 It's actually the second half of this track. Unlike looping like the other themes from the OST, this one fades into the "Ambushed" version at 2:24. Thanks for the upload. I absolutely love the music from this game. My disks are too scratched to be able to play through any of the music without skipping or restarting though. Ah well.
Theres alot of great rpgs that were overshadowed due to more well known titles like Final Fantasy and such back in those days. But I have to say. That game was a great succeus to me. But then again im a fan Leena and Feena.
correct me if i'm wrong but i remember hearing 2 version of this battle theme song when playing the game long ago...,a normal one and an ambushed one...
@TekkenTHABEST Oh trust me, it is. It's one of the greatest games the Dreamcast ever had, it even had a port to the Cube along with some extra content. The main story was 50 hours long and doing everything else took you 100 more. It features a huge world with amazing and loveable characters, the soundtrack is incredible awesome, too. It's one of the most overlooked games and my favorite rpg of all time.
Completed it once on PSX, couldn't watch the ending due to scratchy CD, completed it a second time on PSP and saw the Ending and maaan, this game is so freakin' awesome.
I was so glad when they changed the battle music. I never cared for the first so when Disc 2 came, I was happy. This one is awesome! I just wish DIsc 2 was longer
Sue is just too damn cute (especially with her JP voice in combat). And possibly stronger than Justin since she can hurt him, thus making her the true strongest kid in the world!
@TekkenTHABEST No problem. Just make sure to get the Dreamcast version because the soundtrack has the best quality in it which makes the game far more enjoyable. All other versions had their music toned down due to excessive game content nearly breaking the disc. Don't count on ever finding a Playstation port however, this one was never released to the public and was probably unfinished. You may even try the cube version if you have problems with the DC emulator. Good luck and have fun!
@juhzizz Are you talking about Skies of Arcadia? There aren't any airship battles in Grandia 2 (the entry that was on Dreamcast) and I don't recall any in the first game either (never beat it though)
I love this song! Good thing I bought it for my psp! I have the original ps1 game discs in working condition but why not play it on the psp (plus my ps1 is at my mom's house, and I heard complaints from people taking advantage of the ps2 backwards compatibility for the game.) Even better, it's easier to switch discs (no more hunting for a second disc yay!)
@juhzizz How is that even possible? There never was a Playstation release of that game. It's exclusive to dreamcast and gamecube. Are you sure it's the same game?
adventure, courage, friendship, passion, love. this game got it all. i’m so glad i played it as a teenager.
๐·°(৹˃̵﹏˂̵৹)°·๐
Best J-RPG of my childhood ._.
Dats ryt❤❤❤
That is a friendship theme
Character realism too. No one's a goody two shoes here!
This game had one of the best battle systems in a RPG
Yes someone said it🤗🤗
Best ability gaining. It's not about character level or collected skill points!
this game is one of the best games ever made
I still think it's one of the best. The closest we've ever gotten is Child of Light. I just really love the ability to potentially never allow enemies to get a turn with how the turn order worked.
How would you feel about a remake with the system more like kingdom hearts or ff7 remake?
The genius of Grandia is that it changed it's mood in the second disk, a fresh yet exciting feeling. Especially when in battle, such as this amazing theme.
Le deuxième disque est le meilleur
Grandia, one of the best RPG's I have ever played. This theme is fucking amazing. Grandia is a coming of age story, where a boy becomes a man! This music reflects that perfectly. From boy to man, from novice to master.
Best battle theme ever. I had enjoyed it back then. And now 20 years later I still love it. I'm very nostalgic about this one.

Yea when i cjlhanged to disc 2 and this thene replacs tge original battle thene i was, FAKK this is so cool! time to kick monster asses
GADWIN'S SECRET MOVE!!!
DRAGON KING SLICE!!!
*Havoc unleashes*
Prepare yourself! This is it!
GWAAH!!
*Heaven & Earth Cut*
Justin was such a pain in the beginning but gradually turns into a badass
So I just beat the Dom Ruins and Justin is still being an annoying, reckless adventurist. He gets cooler still though, right? :O I heard the game is slow in the beginning.
Matthew Tran Oh yeah man you're just starting. The game gets WAY better soon. Keep playing. One of my favorites ever.
Jeremy Dotson Yep. I daresay the game is a legend..
I'm now at the Savanna Wilderness. Things have picked up so far but I'm waiting for more drastic change! :P
Oh you like the game admit it. lol

The kind of epic battle theme that puts hairs on chest and make you yearn for adventure and exploration!
Best game ever made
Also check Xenoblade Chronicles. Different but really worth to play....
Also check Xenoblade Chronicles. Different but really worth to play....
Oh yes. Grandia would be my nr1 but Xenoblade is my nr2! Both amazing games!
Yaaaasssssssss FrankerZ
saben como lo puedo descargar para pc o ps2?

Still got this game. Absolutely fantastic
yeah i have it still also...i beat the game in laptop
J'ai 39 ans et j'ai encore des frissons et des larmes quand j'écoute cette musique magnifique
Je dois être taré
No you're not crazy, just a true fan😊
Yeah, no other rpg I've played has been able to make me feel that way, it actually felt like you were going places in this game!
Lo estoy jugando por primera vez y este temazo me tiene enganchado al gameplay. Se siente el heroísmo que irradia!❤❤🎶🎶
I carry this song forever!!
It cheers me up. Makes me remember my teenage, and make me feel stronger and brave, like Justin did
Played it for around 25 hours, still on disc 1
The best RPG music ever! EVER!!!!
Best RPG of all 3 games!!!
Yeah I agree, this was one of the best. I think in the Grandia series, this was the best version of Grandia. The very first one. The storyline, plot, character development and combat system was so enjoyable during that time.
uno de los mejores rpgs de toda la historia de los videojuegos
i always get ambushes just to hear the second half of this song😊
This game is definatly up there on the best rpg I've played. When are companies going to realize its the STORY that makes a good rpg?
for a PS1 game, it's pretty good. probably even better than Chrono Trigger that is a super nintendo game and that's what impresses me.
Remilia Zero I'd say Chrono Trigger and Grandia are close though. I really liked magus theme a lot. lol
I like frog's theme.

First played 2 as well, but actually enjoyed 2 more
I love this battle music played with grandia disc 2.
Feena, I take the vanguard, you support me!
"Justin with his enormous HP and DEF pool"
This was the best battle them in the series and best Grandia in the series to me. =O
:40-:50 gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it. That moment where everything just flows together and creates a sense of wonder epitomizes what this magnificent game is all about.

We re here again my comrade .. welcome
one of the best mc in jrpg ever.
justin start as your typical annoying brat, but gradually maturing and by the end he still can be a little jerk, but when the situation called he really can pull some badass cool mc attitude
Grandia has the best ending of any jrpg:
Mc and his gf return to his hometown after 10 years of adventuring, having had five kids in the process.
this is so nostalgic, love this song so much !

+Justice Orprecio Of course I do!!!
Grandia HD remaster is release today. I recomend you buy it.
one of the best games ever made and the music is 100% awesome!!
why isn't there a rocking live version of this amazing theme ? I'd die for it !
Boy when you pop in that second disk😍
ahhh good times were had by all :)
Goddamn you really feel the weight in the second half of the game with this
Hell yeah... This battle theme makes me remember some better times.
This is one of the best RPG games I played in my entire life! I will never forget it! Maybe I'll play it again as an adult :)
I'm glad you got both versions. Ambushed and normal. Big thanks man.
I always loved when RPG games would change the regular Battle Themes the further you got, indicating a new chapter each time.
definitely one of the best
grandia is for me the only game to have fun going on a journey
There was never anything like Grandia before, this game, there will never be an rpg as good as Grandia either...
Actually there were many games who were unique. Terranigma was one of the best and most beloved classics from the 16bit era in Europe.
no like grandia. I can say no rpg has touched me the way grandia has, the music, the story, the characters, the atmosphere...
And expensive :P
you are so damn fuckin right!
psionicomniverse BOF3 was incredible too, with the best Dragon system in the series, and introduced stealing enemy abilities! Some of the best music too.

The ending of the game is awesome a fitting ending to the pair (=.
I feel this played a little too early, I thought I was near the final stretch but then there's like at least 10 more hours of play time
That ending of this game my boy Justin got it all
i miss them❤❤❤
Theres alot of great rpgs that were overshadowed due to more well known titles like Final Fantasy and such back in those days. But I have to say. That game was a great succeus to me. But then again im a fan Leena and Feena.
Thank You Sooooooooooooooooooo sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo............. much!!!!!!!
Just replayed this game. Man, I forgot how awesome this theme was! Too bad we'll never have MegaMan legends 3 to wrap up the story.
COME, POWER OF THE UNIVERSE! HAH! DRAGON KING SLICE!
correct me if i'm wrong but i remember hearing 2 version of this battle theme song when playing the game long ago...,a normal one and an ambushed one...
***** yeah thankz for the info, its actually the full song of normal plus ambushed version... =D
I agree, a great geame with good music and heavily underrated!
It's kinda fitting the story in disc 2. Which is more pick up the pace. Ost is much more intense than disc 1.
Aw these were the days when i played legend of legaia, jade cocoon, legend of dragoon demos! love this game
I wish for a grandia 4 on ps4.
Isaac Rodriguez Not likely since the director died IIRC... (sucks I know)
At least we're getting a switch version of the first two games.
wish I still had this game if only I had taken better care of this masterpiece probly the best RPG I ever played :(
@TekkenTHABEST Oh trust me, it is. It's one of the greatest games the Dreamcast ever had, it even had a port to the Cube along with some extra content. japanese devs dont make games like grandia this anymore. The gold age off jrpgs has ended with PS2 era console.
Dats Ryt

good old times...
This song resembles exactly after Sue left the party. I remembered her when ever i heard it.
Gadwin's secret move !! Dragon King Slice !!!!!! hwaaaaaaaaa !>
One of the best RPG i played, OST from this games are awesome.
Never letting go of my PS1 copy. NEVER EVER!
only played grandia 2 which was an awesome game too :)
I got Grandia II not long ago. I'm in the Baked Plains
so much fun! :)
It is! I wanted to play it ever since I played Sonic Rpg and omg so amazing
I really need to replay Grandia.
:'( So much nostalgia right now
Haha.. i did the same thing you did when i played this game. Awesome!
this game is CLASSIC i like the music i have the game at home
OH WINDS, SPIN LIKE A TORNADO!
Oooo flame, burn um!!!
Sue is just too damn cute (especially with her JP voice in combat). And possibly stronger than Justin since she can hurt him, thus making her the true strongest kid in the world!
If Grandia was an Ace Attorney game, this should be Justin's Pursuit theme, with "Stand and Rise, Justin!" being his Objection theme. :D
This should be a boss battle theme, but I love hearing it often.
thats a great musik my favorite nice job merhawk102
@TekkenTHABEST No problem. Just make sure to get the Dreamcast version because the soundtrack has the best quality in it which makes the game far more enjoyable. All other versions had their music toned down due to excessive game content nearly breaking the disc.

@juhzizz Are you talking about Skies of Arcadia? There aren't any airship battles in Grandia 2 (the entry that was on Dreamcast) and I don't recall any in the first game either (never beat it though)
It's actually both together. The first part is the normal theme. The second (which starts around 2:23 is the ambushed version.
holy fucken shit this gave me goosebumps
So energetic.
@AarnKrry this is the ambushed one, the non-ambushed version doesn't have that intro plus the other stuff you mentioned.
The ambush version is so good :)
This one's great.
This must be the longest grandia game i played. (around 70h to final boss)
Me too.
wow, same. more or less: 68h50m
Yeah whatever you say.
Isaac Rodriguez :)
And yet its beatable in just over 12 hours (current record is like 12h24m)
disc 2 battle theme....good game. i like grandia battle system
You know it broski.
Prepare yourself! This is it! Uwaahhhhh!!!
When you get on CD2, the Battle Theme changes to this one.^^
Sounds like the classic snes music or super smash bros music.
This always sounded more like an event theme to me, or perhaps even an overly elaborate world map theme.
@juhzizz How is that even possible? There never was a Playstation release of that game. It's exclusive to dreamcast and gamecube. Are you sure it's the same game?
