Perhaps the most under-appreciated artist in all of my years. I play old Dro mixtapes to this day. Nobody ever gave him enough credit as a lyricist or an artist.
That's how life be...I'm REALLY happy that this man is still here to share this wisdom and experience...my head be feeling like he said when he was a kid and I know there's mad people like me that need to hear this shit
I ALWAYS had the biggest crush on Dro from the "Shoulder Lean" days, but THIS man is so CLEAR about who he is! Being able to see him be successful for 17 months at fighting that monster is such a blessing!
Now this is an interviewer not that mess Shirley Ju was doing.... This is how you interview someone and get the real real out of them...big up to Shawn Prez and Dro.
Listen to Young Dro song "hear me cry" from his "best thang smoking" album... he tells this story. "I got shot up, guess who did it? My partner.... I had to wear a sh*t bag... BUT I FORGAVE HIM" 😓 Dro ain't all fun raps. Love Dro 💯
Got nothing but love and respect for Dro. My folks and I used to play the Hell out of Dro, Raheem the Dream and Fabo "Tight for life" way before he got with Tip. Much respect brother Dro.🙏💪🏿🔥

Damn bro. This one of the deepest interviews ever on this channel. Just to see the growth. Just to know I was that young reckless kid at one time & right now there is young dudes in the streets going through that who may possibly get killed or go to prison for life but if they can survive long enough they will have a chance to mature & be a grown man. Any young dude in the streets just be smart & try to survive.
He should make a documentary and call it the evolution of Dro. I have watched this man come full circle. Congrats and good luck on your sobriety. I’m about to check out that “shoulder lean”! Brilliant! Cheers mates!!
He always rapped bout gettin popped. He got hit in Kimberly Court. They’ve since been remodeled and been thru a few diff name changes but dem apartments still standing to this day. FYI I’m a 80’s baby (1984) born n raised in da city. Dro a real Atlanta legend
He older now. Shid, he ain't sound like this when he was on 85 south, a couple years. It might jus be him being professional or him on a different path, eitha one is gangsta.
"I was the one that saw Young Dro doing the shoulder lean when he saw his first drug deal. Told him he should put that in a song when he got older." -TK Kirkland
damn, he was a parents nightmare, to go from singing in the choir for your grandmother, to selling drugs at 11 and getting shot at 15, and you didn't have to be in the streets at all. its a miracle he survived. SMH
Damn, I can’t lie, once I tuned in and watch the sexy lady from BMF, I decided to tune back in, and just like that, “we have another one,” in my DJ Khaled🗣️🗣️🗣️ very exclusive, mind blowing, real, and heart felt interview so far!!! 💯🙏🦾🦾🦾🙏💯 I might be late tuning in after all the hard work you done put in thru out your career, but I’m most definitely right on time with for the Jewels thats been consistently flowing thru your timeline, from you and most definitely your guest!!! In Taneheisi Coates Book "Between the World and Me" he talks about in every inner city you go as a kid you have to navigate "the cousins" the danger that comes with living in every hood. He also says if you make it out the hood, and you have to face the rest of the world you get to learn that America (Corporate, Criminal Justice, Healthcare, Education, etc..) Has cousins waiting for you too. SMH.
I swear Dro told a different story about getting shot! Where he said he was running and jumped over the fence and all! I know I’m not the only one who seen him explain it differently in an old interview!
Dro doesn’t get his respect as a pure lyricist and I think its partly because he’s from the south, partly because being overshadowed by TI and because he’s so animated and charismatic and funny his personality outshines his bars
You can tell Dro just wanted the shine and didn't know what came with the streets. Big ups for him admitting that. If had guidance as a teen, probably wouldn't have gotten shot or been in the dope game. Someone could've helped him focus solely on his music
