In this clip, Young Dro talked about becoming addicted to morphine while in the hospital being nursed back to health after getting shot at 15 years old. Around the same time, Dro recalled his mother getting shot multiple times leaving a nightclub. He used that as an example to highlight just how crazy his life was at the time and how he felt it was spiraling out of control.

It's very important that people are able to start opening up to have these conversations. Until it becomes socially acceptable to address mental health, we're gonna continue to lose young people to these pills. Proud of this man for saying what needed to be said to get clean.

I use to say how can ppl get addicted to pills until I broke my ankle and had to take oxycodone then I started taking them after I was better and I can understand now glad he over came the addiction 🙏😇

That morphine is real. When I was in labor they gave me morphine in my IV and it really is like that. I could see how one could become hooked to it. A lot addictions happen once they’ve been in the hospital.
Mann i feel that so much I got shot 5x and got addicted to oxycodone . I been struggling with it for 8yrs now

You ever try a strong dose of kratom? Of course you’re gonna be uncomfortable at first and it ain’t the same feeling as the oxy, but start with 10 grams when you can, especially if ur in withdrawals and that’s what’ll make you appreciate it. I still think of the pills every damn day but I’ve got a lot more control and money now thankfully. God bless you man I pray you can overcome it and all of us that have a problem can beat it!

when I was 15 I broke my hand pretty bad in a school fight (I was an athlete, skateboarder and all around wild child so I was used to being hurt, this wasn't my first time breaking a bone, wouldn't be the last) and got put in a cast and they prescribed me vicodin. It wasn;t the first time I had been prescribed this for broken bone, but it was the first time I took it. I took one and I remember thinking "that doesn;t even do anything, I knew I shouldn't take those". Fast forward a day or 2 and im just sitting in my bed watching tv and I watch this show on MTV called "true life" all you boomers will remember it. Anyways, there was a guy on there addicted to vicodin and I watched him pop like 20 vicon pills at once. The man looked like a zombie and for some reason something told me I should try it. I didn't pop 20 but i popped 5 thinking "yeah its only 5, what could happen?" .. well, I got high as shit. Never had this feeling before, like I was floating on a cloud. It felt like the best dream ever, no stress, no depression, no pain.. anyways I was immediately hooked. I woke up after a few hours of being high, and did it again. That led to the next 13 years of me trying to find some opiates. Stay away from drugs kids, especially if you go through stuff as a child. It is a recipe for disaster.
Telling people how good the high was is literally working backwards. You addicts need to keep that stuff to yourself. I feel sorry for the kid that stops midway thru your essay and decides to pop a pill.

To have to see after the woman who gave you life and went through hell to suffer from our indirect actions consequences. Which will get more painful the more potential we waste not following the signs. Pride may make a successful man but it can also create a extremely bad crutch by-way destroy your success in the most public way possible. I respect Dro when you ride through atlanta and you got a nice car he will legit pull up and shoot the time with ya. He extremely intelligent and very wise.
