Sawadee khrap. I am from Singapore and I am Teochew. Saphan Taksin area has been one of my favourite places in Bangkok cos it has a nice rural feel. I always visit this area when I am in Bangkok. I am familiar with the food you introduced in this video; most are of Teochew origin, like the 'koo chai kueh' (chives dumpling), 'bak hoo' (dried shredded pork), 'chok' (congee), etc. 'I am always happy to find the more elderly Thais in Bangkok like street hawkers whom I can speak Teochew to. You clip is very informative and I hope more tourists can visit this area.
Hello from Scotland. I’ve visited Thailand 4 times now. Coming back in January for a month and bringing a friend who has never been. It’s so refreshing to see a channel about Thailand made by a local. I’m really enjoying the uploads. Well done. 🥰
I have been to Bangkok few time but everytime have diffrence experience but then When i watching your video i feel like i have a Thai friend who show me around Thailand Bangkok , Thanks alot Mr Chon
always love that area. especially with so many food places. the duck place was always a great place to eat. and then there was that woman who sells the great rice porridge nearby.
Ijust saw this. Very interesting. Anyone coming from Singapore, Malaysia, HK and Taiwan will still marvel at Chinatown in Thailand. The next gen may not speak much Chinese dialects but the spirit is still there.
I love this area. I have wandered around here many times in my 40 years of visiting Thailand. The Roasted Duck with Rice made me craving it when you ordered it. I have never tried the Chive Dumplings. If I'm lucky to return to Thailand I'll have to make sure I try that. I love your style of video making!!
I love watching your videos and recommendations. Any videos on local night markets? I will be coming to Bangkok in december. Keep up with the good work!
Just love what you did again in this video about Saphan Taksin BTS area. Again, as I have mentioned before, Ive never been in this area before though Ive been to BKK many times. Will definitely visit on my next trip there. Thank you Chon
I loved this video Chon.. I stayed in Centre Point Silom (above Robersons) when I was in BK in 2019.. I know all the places that you showed us...Great memories 🙏🙏
Thanks a lot Chon for your videos and they have made my homework easier. 😃Looking forward to be in Bangkok with my wife and a group of friends in a few months. We’ll be staying in a hotel within Bang Rak! 👍👍👍
I like this area very much and have visited twice on my current trip to Bangkok. Love the Ghost Tower! I've only recently discovered this channel, but I have to express my thanks to Chon, Bam, Joyce, and the team for the excellent range of videos they are uploading. A real local perspective on an amazing city. Keep up the good work, and I hope to run into you one day filming.
Thank you for this video. We're staying in the Centre Point Hotel for a week in November and 2 weeks in February. Really excited by the amount of food available in Bang Rak.
This is nearby my resident area also, Prajak roast duck is so good (number one for me in Bangkok). It's so pity that one of my favorite sticky rice shop in this VDO (min 6.06) already closed (or moved I'm not sure), now it turn to a massage shop : ( Actually there are many good food stores there with less tourist compare to CBD or Rattanakosin area.
I really like your videos. Very informative and of the beaten path. I will try to see some of the places when I am in Bangkok mid of February 2023. Keep up the good work !
I'm very happy to watch your video arts in my room without any efforts and very happy to see familiar spot near saphan taksin areas to me. I showed that really support your efforts under my warm hearts from seoul.See you soon!!!!
Hi Chon, thank you for your nice video despite the rain. Recently, I discovered your channel and subscribed. Thank you for showing me around many places I have not visited before. By the way, I am from Singapore we love Thailand especially, Bangkok and Chiangmai for me.
Great Video, looking forward for the Money exchange video, I am visiting Bangkok/Thailand on the next monday for my first time. Maybe it will arrive right on time ;)
Can’t do it befor Monday, Gregor. But let me type it here. The best place to exchange money is SuperRich, they 2 different one but similar rate. Orange and green, any will do. They have branches in the city. I will post it one Facebook group just for you this evening
Really enjoyed your presentation Chon. Very informative and helpful. Will come to Bangkok on the 21st Sept and staying at Grand China Bangkok at Yaowarat.
Thank you for the video. I have a few questions: 1. Which direction did you walk to get to 'Little Chinatown'? 2. How far(in approx. meters) to the roast duck place from the start of the 'Little Chinatown'?
Good morning, I was there last Tuesday, try the lu han gao herbal drinks, unfortunately unable to try coconut custard, because I need to wait up to 45min. Duck rice or noodles, I didn't try, because my stomach still full with soi convert chicken rice. Tq for your channel
i notice you do so many foods content, can you occassionally do some other rare contents such as about how to go watch Thai futsal league or sepak takraw league or football league or other sports. Or maybe place to watch stand up comedy or interesting studio show.
Hi hi! I’m a frequent Thailand traveller, and I am wondering if you can tell me exactly the area where Khlong Thom Night Market is to explore, it would help a lot :) the night market area is not clear, it will be great if u can tell me which roads the night market is at, and the best times to go there! Thank you!!!
I was wondering if there are public restrooms along the roads or in Chinatown area. I can only assume that all the restaurants have restrooms for customers. 😅
Thank you so much for showing us the local areas in Bangkok. I didn’t know about the Chinese food at Saphan Taksin, for sure I will visit next time. I love your videos!! Khop khun maak kap!
