- Sorry if this video isn’t very informational I am new to making videos like this.. lol
I had my 230i with the b48 for 2 and a half years and the car was wonderful with full bolt ons and custom tune. Any fellow b48/b46 owners who want to add anything in the comments feel free!
#b48 #b46 #bmw #bmw330i #bmw430i #minicooper #bmw2series
MHD does not offer B46/B48 tuning yet, sorry guys. My mistake. Only BM3!
Mg Flasher supports B48
I love this video man! This really showed me how much you can push a b48. I was questioning trading in my 430i for an older 340i, I think I’m going to send it with the 430i b48 build.
Older cars suck, newer tech with a car just as powerful is the way to go!
Yeah dude get the bigboost turbo and have some fun while u already have the car
Yeah, enjoy your luxurious car and Apple CarPlay 😊
the flame clip had me dying son; fire video really helpfuL!!!
Dinan stage 1 will get you there, bolt on’s are: intake, exhaust, catless downpipe. And you’re good.
I RECOMMEND THE SPRINT BOOSTER TO ACCELERATE YOUR CAR FASTER, IF YOU CAN GET IT CHANGES A LOT
Where?
Sprint booster is nice, also If you get a custom tune through one of the flash softwares - you can tell your tuner to eliminate the throttle lag in the pedal just like sprint booster 👍
I have the b46 in my mini gen3; I haven’t dyno but stock cat, res delete, muf delete, k&n air filter. Reason for this was to keep the car oem as possible but same time versatile what the car was designed to do. It can also track. Idk how to push 300hp on a fwd car. Best 240hp on the fwd
Do the flames vid forsure
Fast with flames!
Appreciate your video bro, really good explanation, after getting a downpipe what else you get into the exhaust ?
Thanks man! After chillin with just a downpipe I got a straight pipe lol
Flame vid definitely needed
This vid is straight game
The new bm3 1.1 tune stage one 93 octane is way more than 300 whp without downpipe.
Dude honestly I think I’m pushing 340 hp on stage 1 with a catless dp. The difference is insane. Im going off of what the cars chart says.
@@frankcarvajal321 I have an intake pipe with K&N filter stock air box so true cold air, charge pipe and stage 1 1.1 tune manual 330i and my shit seriously rips. It has to be 320 wheel easily. I pull a lot of cars.
@@Bryan-wv4lk yiu think it would outrun cops n what’s it too out at?
I’m being nice saying 300 whp. Last time I said 300 whp people freaked out and said no way. They just don’t understand the power b48 can hold😮💨
@@frankcarvajal321 Ya your prob pushing 340 to the crank if not more. If you put it on a dyno tho it would definitely be around 300 whp.
Power isn't an issue as much as a the lack of low end response. The B46 is known to be lazy revving. I find I have to often stab the throttle to overtake corollas and civics. On paper it's not bad (0-60 5.2 seconds), which is only a small improvement over stock, but unless you drive the cars like you just stole it, it doesn't feel quick. Not sure, exactly what is to blame for this lack of power, at lower speeds (under 50mph) , but I am not the only one who complains about it.
You must have a heavier car. My 230 had lots of low end torque and would throw you back in your seat. Not sure what car you had, but it is a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder with a tiny turbo so you can’t expect much.
Got my 0-60 to 4 seconds.
@@shanepowers7414 I'm bouta have the fastest f22/b48 ever built lol, I'm projected to hit the 3s depending on whether or not i wanna try and get away with slicks in Cali lol
@@purpleguy6973tryna run my 330i? Im full e-85 in socal around the IE.
@@Starscream8896 im not stock turbo anymore bro, just ran a 9.89 at irwindale
Just make a stage 1 and you have your 300hp. The Stock engine already has 252hp. Thats no big deal!
That’s crank horse power. I’m talking about wheel horse power.
@@shanepowers7414 If you change one, you automatical change the other!?
I made a Stage 1 with a gear and gas tuning and i have a new car! The difference is amazing! 0-100km/h in about 6,3 seconds! (Without launch control) Stop&Go is also disabled (locked on off mode)
Now i have an ambient light too. It seems that you can unlock the ambient light if you dont have one. The hardware sees to be always build in! The tuner also unlocked the Tire temperature on the Wheel pressure display!
I payed 600€ in total! 3 1/2 hours worktime with testdrive!
🔥
If you're ever out in Cali let's get some runs in bro, and what do you do to spin? I just get a shit load of DTMALs and CELs, even with launch control and dsc off. I believe I'm in the low 400s torque wise and it could just be conservative tuning while I'm on stock rods, not sure
Ur in a 230i? It was difficult at first for me as well but it’s all in the brake to throttle ratio. Try less brake more throttle.
how reliable is tuning your car? I have a g20 330i m-sport with a vrsf catless downpipe and a dinan intake. Im thinking on getting a tune and wonder how reliable is it? Also what would you recommend for a plug and play tune which i can activate or deactivate whenever i need to?
Also i want something i can just run with a preset map. Not costum tuning.
has your engine had any issues? minor or major with these mods? I have a 530i but don't wanna bring to much heat to the engine yk?
Nah man no issues! Honestly very reliable motor
Will it still make the same sound if you have a stock exhaust ?
Depends what sound ur talking about. The intake sound?
did you have a muffler or resonator delete?
Question how do you know difference between b48 engine and b46, is a 320 b48 and 330i b46 ?
Emissions. B46 is mostly in U.S.

im seeing stock dyno's of my car doing 194 to 192 instead of bmw quoted 184hp
basedon bm3 46% increase and 48% torque increase
i should be putting out 284hp and 42nm of torque ... the car certainly pulls .. ive been told once i have the catless on stage 1 i should be pushing 292hp? does this sound right?
should be pushing 330-340 catless on stage 1
how well can the gearbox handle such tunes ? i mean does the up shifts & down shifts stay smooth ?
From what a local tuner told me the bmw zf box is over engineered so nothing to worry about till stage 2+ tuning. Audi on the other hand would need gearbox upgrades almost anything over stock.
@@personaltrainersg i wonder how much NM can box handle GA8HP50X from a g30
Basically it's called stage 2.
Slow car but extremely fun
How much was ur tune?
The bootmod3 tuning software is $600 usd and then my custom tune through the software was $300 usd I believe.
Name of the specific person who tuned it at ds?
It’s one guy
what was ur exhaust setup
Good question - I had a custom built straight pipe other than the catless dp which was evolution racewerks. Everything else- muffler delete, resonator delete, and secondary cat delete. And 3.5 piping.
How much was all of that??

Struggling to find the injen intake for my 2016 430i, am in UK, do you have a link?
I have a MST intake, try that one
Try this link x-ph.com/injen-evolution-intake-bmw-b46-b48/
If that didn’t work MST is a great brand too.
I managed to find an MST intake for just under £400, works perfectly and makes brilliant sound 👌, going whoosh every 5 seconds ;)
@@James-zq6pp hell yes!
Honestly, if you are looking to tune, stay away from the 330i G20. The B48 engine is high compression (10.7 : 1), and it is difficult if not impossible, to achieve a significant power increase, with a smooth and responsive profile, because of the fact the 258hp motor is so close to it's knock limit. So to play it safe, most tuners prefer to increase boost over timing (timing advance is more risky than boost increase), and the 320whp that you CAN achieve from mostly BOOST on this car, feels nothing like a 320 whp that is achieved by advancing timing. 320whp using boost strategy feels like crap, whereas 320whp on a timing strategy feels so exhilaratingly responsive, you will believe the engine+drivetrain are attached to your nervous system - seriously feels like some F1 luxury-sports sedan. It is probably possible to have a stable but aggressive timing profile, but you would need to run some ethanol, to prevent potential knock, and my impression has been that few tuners are willing to take the risk of pushing timing on the B48.
rip i got a '19 330i b46 but i am thinking of going catless dp with bm3 sometime in the near future even if it wont be as good
You’re 100% wrong the b48 in the g20 has the pistons and rods from the b58, their is also several people running upgraded turbo stock motor 460+ whp 😂😂😂
Dude, look at "Vehicular DIY", 500whp on a B49 G20, and not a fluke. Not at all. He does VERY detailed videos about his build.
Fkn gun shots 🤣🤣
What intake did u put in your 230i?
Hey man it’s an InjenTech
Sorry dude. Had to stop at "catless"
Living in CA be like 😂🥲
I wouldve bought the bm3 tune from you
Would this work on a 125i
Yes, and 120i as well
so i can run mhd on my 2017 330i?
I Don't think MHD has b46/b48 tuning yet, I haven looked into it either. I'm running stg2 bm3 on my 17' 330i, no issues at all🤙🏼
Yes only BM3. I did not know mhd doesn’t offer b48 yet, my bad. I’m surprised they don’t !
