Not you calling every single plot twist out, and then topping it with "but I'm probably wrong though" 😭
The fact that you called the whole plot, but still said "nah, probably not"
When you cant even trust yourself 😭😭
About the "I'm always right." quote:
Before Lewis goes back in time, Franny tells Wilbur she knows Kung fu.
The dinner scene in the future shows she was right.
Another neat little Easter egg: if you pay really close attention to the sounds in the opening scene, and the scene where Lewis goes back in time to see his mom, you'd realize that they actually sync up perfectly, in that Lewis was the noise that spooks his mom, as well as the one who knocked on the door in the beginning, after he'd already done everything.
Ooo never realized but love this movie gonna think about this now lol
that fucks me up a little bit actually
@@ziqqyziqqy also the lightning at the beginning? That was the time machine!
well...that fixes any paradoxes
Wilbur saying Cornelius looks like Tom Selleck is a reference to the fact that he actually does voice Cornelius.
And to add to that, the picture/name changes to whoever plays Cornelius in foreign dubs of the movie
@benlutostanski7755 in my country's version they just say Cornelius and show a blank picture (if i remember correctly)
This movie makes me cry. I often think I wish I could go back and undo huge parts of my life but this movie makes you stop and think about all the little good things you have right now that you don't want to loose.
The reason a lot of people dislike this movie has nothing to do with the content and more with history. Disney had a tradition of beautifully animated, hand-drawn films that required a team of extremely skilled and talented animators. But CGI animation was becoming popular, and would be cheaper to produce, and it would not require the highly skilled, highly trained artists.
The Disney company knew the traditionalists (including Roy Disney) wanted them to go on making hand-drawn animation, so they pulled out every dirty trick as an excuse to dump all their animators and go to computers. They made the arguably intentionally bad 'Home on the Range.' They sabotaged the production of 'Brother Bear' by cutting six months off their production deadline. They pointed at the box office takes and whined, 'Nobody wants to see hand-drawn animation any more.' Their executives whined that people were going to see 'Ice Age' and mistaking it for a Disney film (as if EVERY animated film wasn't assumed to be a Disney film back then. Disney was really the only big animated studio left after the animation bust in the 70s till the rise of the CGI newcomers like Blue Sky, Illumination, Dreamworks, etc.)
So, anyway, Disney abruptly threw out all their animators and equipment so there was no turning back. And started a streak of pretty bad and deeply resented CGI films. Only when they allied with Pixar did they start producing anything really worthy of the Disney name again.
The message at the end of this film, about always looking to the future, now sounds inspirational. At the time, it felt like a slap in the face, a big F-you to all the people who wanted Disney to go on with their famous, traditional hand-drawn animation. The same way Yoda burning the Jedi texts and saying that the past had to be destroyed to make way for the future was seen as a metaphor for Disney declaring that the whole Star Wars extended universe, was now just 'legends' and the REAL Star Wars canon was now Disney's crappy Saturday morning cartoons.
Anyway, sorry for the rant! :D Taken on its own, this is a kind of cute film. It's just that it's a bitter memory for old animation geeks.
The disney animators still made a great movie out of it though.
As a 2D animation student, I heavily dislike the way some people view 2D as 'old' and 'for kids'. Or unpopular.
But recently audiences have been looking for new 2D works and that makes me happy.
Also... source? I'd like to check out this story on my own
@@lorettabes4553 Sorry, can't really give you a source other than living through it and reading the news articles about it at the time. If you hunt around, I'm sure you can still find confirmation on specific factual details like Roy Disney objecting to going to CGI, Brother Bear getting its deadline cut by six months and so on. Some of it's my personal opinions and reactions to the news and events of the time.
Anyone else realize that Future Lewis most likely woke up in that cold sweat to build the time machines because of the events that happened in this movie?
Too farfetched, you say? Consider:
He remembered what he'd done to Goob, and was planning on going back in time to fix it, because he felt guilty. Only Goob beat him to it.
Perhaps he suddenly remembered what happened to him as a kid and so knew he had to make the time machine so things would play out as they "should"?
Good eye! 'Robots' was made at Blue Sky, Disney bought that studio as part of the 20th Century package in 2019, and unfortunately shuttered them in 2021. 'Meet The Robinsons', which is a Disney Animation production, was based on a book by William Joyce, who was producer on 'Robots' and both pictures very much have his art style all over 'em. And that's just the tip of the Joyce/animation iceberg.
It's pretty interesting
His future wife gave him tips on how to woo her.
Literally told him tips how he can cook her faster. 🤯
I forgot how wholesome this movies is 😭 its so cute! Teared up in the end when you were watching it lol
As someone who was adopted in a situation where I never knew my parents from before, I related to Lewis’s struggle and this was one of my favorite Disney movies of all time. Then I realized this movie was based on a book by William Joyce, who also made my favorite Dreamworks movie’s source material, Rise of the Guardians and the Guardians of Childhood book series, and just chalked it up to William Joyce being one of my favorite creators, cuz he was also behind the source material for Epic, Robots, and even Roly Poly Oly, a show I was raised on😅
Dude no one knows about Roly poly oly I can’t believe it! 😭 I loved that show.
@@shadamyandsonamylover Me too!! 😊❤
I was just kicked out of my film club yesterday by a person who called this (my favorite movie) trash. So thank you for my commentary made me smile.
That person has no taste
This movie is so underrated. A sequel was planned but scraped pretty quick.
Meet the Robinsons is so cute and funny! It’s a favorite of mine! My favorite line is “I have a big head and little arms!” Haha it’s more hilarious bc the frog said the second bit first but the T-Rex said the full line!
The " helping" hat disappeared because without Lewis inventing her she could not be there to take over the world. And Michael could not hand her over to be invented without Lewis
I love this movie ! The family is so silly but I love how much they love each other. My brother and I regularly quote this at each other. Especially the and I have lilttle arms bit. 😂😂
I love how much you loved it! And I agree soooo underrated ❤
Such an underrated gem.
bruh you're the first person ive ever seen guess all the plot twists!!! it blew my little mind when i watched it as a kid
I agree with you on the soundtrack! Also, Little Wonders playing while showing the montage towards the end, dang, tears
Bro, this was my childhood 😭 Thank you so much for making my day and watching this! ❤️
I love "Meet the Robinsons". After I got in a car accident that crushed my ankle I got a keep moving forward tattoo on my ankle above my scar. I also love the song near the end " little wonder"( let it go, let it roll right off your shoulder don't you know the hardest part is over)
Definitely one of my fav movies, wished it had more traction in the react community. As an adopted kid, i understand that my parents did what they think was best for me, by giving me up for adoption. So it's better to just let the past be the past and look forward and enjoy the time i have with my current family.
BAKE THEM COOKIES LUCILE!
I love this movie so much! Absolutely underrated. I've seen it countless times and anytime that last song, Little Wonders, starts playing, the tears immediately start welling up!
This is, in fact, my favorite Disney film.
This really is one of my favorite animated movies. I don't know why it doesn't get more love but it was great seeing you enjoy it.
IT IS MY FAVORITE CARTOON MOVIE!!! I ve seen the whole thing like 15 times, and it’s so amazing. Glad to have seen your reaction, you are so smart;)
This came out shortly after I was adopted and was a staple in my house. I love this movie so much and it will forever be one of my favorites. Little wonders is still one of my favorite songs. I watch this yearly on my adoption anniversary. Thanks for reaction to this. It is so criminally underrated.
This is literally one of my fav animated movies!! So happy you reacted to it.
I will cry every single time I watch this movie.
This is one of my favorite movies but it slips through the cracks often because it’s so old. But it definitely is top tier Disney
I don't blame you for calling the plot twists, I saw a review on this movie and even though they said it was good, they said that if they first watched it as an adult, they would know the plot twists.
I watched this as a kid and can safely say I did not get nightmares from the bowler hat man, especially after the twist. love this movie!!!
The part of when Lewis sees his mother in the past, if you see it at the exact same time as the beginning when Lewis is dropped at the orphanage, both scenes' sounds fit perfectly.
Did this inspire Robots? Robots came out in 2005, two years before Meet the Robinsons. HOWEVER, William Joyce, the author/illustrator of "A Day With Wilbur Robinson" - the book on which this movie is based, did do art design for Robots (and Rolie Polie Olie). So you will see a lot of artistic similarities in all three. He was also the author/illustrator of of the Guardians of Childhood books that the movie Rise of the Guardians was based on.
Did the Bowler Hat Guy look so evil that he gave my kids nightmares when they saw this when they were little. No. No he didn't.
But the BOWLER HAT _definitely_ gave my daughter nightmares.
This movie is one of the most, if not the most underrated Disney movie ever. It has a great story and an important lesson from the man, the only Walt Disney himself. The man people said made dreams come true.
Nah you’re not beating these pre watch allegations, miss 😂
So, everyone, should we get Rebecca to react to Illumination's Sing 1 & Sing 2 movies next or eventually in the future? 🤔🤭
No
@@Hamantha Yes! 😁😜
@@doomarang3208 idk, I prefer good artistic movies
Yes
@Hamantha They are good movies, don't be such a cinema snob.
Your plot calling is INSANE. I wish so many good things for you, xox!
YAY!! I’m so glad you made a video to this movie☺️ it’s my favourite movie (coming from an avid movie watcher) I’ve re-watched this countless times and I always tear up at the end🥹♥️ the pace is so fast but works well for the humour🤭. Whenever I’m feeling down I put this movie on and it never fails to put me in a better mood💘
And The Bowler Hat guy def scared me as a kid, especially when Doris takes over lmao
Oh my god me too ! I definitely had nightmares of bad Doris
This movie is a mood lifter for sure. Definitely one of the best underated Disney movies.
I kinda wish it was more recent so people would appreciate it more (and Disney is lacking good movies like this right now).
@@LuisGustavoSO its criminally underrated😔 and I think you’re right, if it came out more recent there would be a bigger fanbase, it has so many good qualities that I can’t get into or I’ll be here typing forever😅
My friends and I used to quote this movie on the playground all the time....and I still do. A true underrated classic ❤
That was my favourite movie when i was a kid and no one knew about it. I'm so glad you made me think of this movie again
This is one of my favorite disney movies!!!!
Fun backstory: the first time I saw it, I was kinda meh about it. Then I decided to give it another watch-borrowing my stepbrother’s copy (this is relevant)-and I loved it. I kept borrowing it over and over even after we moved to separate houses. One time I borrowed it, it had been a couple years since I borrowed it and I was set to give it back when my stepbrother just told me to go ahead and keep it lol
Edit: btw it’s MarissaFlynn527. I just changed my name into my Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss OC
This is probably my favorite Disney movie
this movie is totally underrated, literally the end makes me cry every single time i watch it lol it is one of my all time favorite movies! my dog is named goob because of this movie lol
glad the let you post this such a great movie
hardcore underrated film; pure nostalgia.
😎👍 This is one of those Disney cartoons like "Bolt" that isn't so much "Underrated" as it is "Under Talked About." Most people actually rate it very highly once they are reminded of it's existence. The two Disney cartoons that I would call most "Underrated" are "James & The Giant Peach" (1996) and "A Bug's Life" (1998). People tend to be put off by the fact that the main characters in both are insects, but they're both extremely well made. 🍑🐛
This is criminally underrated. Well done for guessing so early
Note how at the end, Lewis was already building Carl?
I throughly enjoy Rebecca's reactions. I would love to see her reactions to episodes of bluey especially the emotional heavy hitters like space , sleepytime, army , and onesies.
I love this movie. Favorite kids movie
This is one of my favourites
Three correct predictions means you’re officially a prophet licensed by Apollo himself
You have to have seen this before lol you predicted every single plot
do we need to buy you a Snugee bestie,,, this backwards hoodie moment is killing me xD
Actually did know about this movie, but it was specifically because I was one of those people who shipped Wilbur and Violet Parr from the Incredibles for like at least two years.
I have always absolutely loved this movie! So fast and funny!
I did watch this movie as a kid, and yes, I did get nightmares, from the bowler hat future scene.
I adore this movie too! This isn’t quite Disney but I would love if you watched Quest for Camelot
8:15 I’m crying your clock the whole plot in eight minutes I love it😂😂😂
This movie destroyed me when I was a kid.
5:59 perfect way to EDIT THIS SCENEE 😂😂
Fun fact : there was a planned short called “Lewis’s First Date” but it was cancelled
I used to rewatch all time 😊
I’ve believed no one react to this movie’s there called turtles tale sammys adventures and turtle tales 2 Sammy’s escape from paradise these movies are may childhood and is not a Nemo ripoff it has original story, characters and voices
Pls react to Mr. Peabody and Sherman. It’s one of my favs
Yes please!!
the most shoking thing I learned today "Wait What This Was My Childhood How Did I Not Know It Was Produced By Disney"
This movie is in my top 20. Disney movies I mean. Every-time I hear “Little Wonders” I get Nostalgia. Considering that this was Disney’s second Dip into the world of CGi, Minusing Dinosaur(2000). 1:25 Same. 3:43 I hear A little bit of the Ice king, Cause they’re played by the same actor. Bowler hat Guy is Voiced by The Director of the Film, Was an Orphan. 6:09 The future in this movie takes plays In 2037, That’s sad. When did Snow White come out, 1937, The first fully animated film Not just Disney but animation in general. 7:48🔮 Big Brain.🧠 10:46 Big Brain ENERGY!😇 Robots was made By Blue sky’s Studios. 13:04 That’s Gonna Be Irony. 19:00 This movie started Kicking Off Disney’s Love for Twist Villains. 19:19 He didn’t start living bc he was so focused on the past so you just have to “Keep Moving Forward” Walt Disney Had a Quote that said “Keep moving forward.” 21:22 Fire Lewis Would Remember this. Also Wilber said his dad looked like Tom Selleck and Tom Selleck Actually Voices Cornelius. I have to agree lion king has the Best Disney score. 24:21 I didn’t even notice Carl.
2:53
Other reactors: Owww that’s so cute 🥹🥹
Rebecca: Generic ahh mom
Nice video btw ^^
22:21 I love this movie, everything about it, except this scene….the grown Cornelius would have already known this was the day he’d meet his old self and would not be surprised that the time machines were gone. He would have that memory.
Loved your reaction as always. You should watch society of the snow. It's a great movie and I would love to hear what you have to say about that one. If you do watch it I recommend the original language with subtitles, the acting was amazing
Fun fact:: When Louis tells Wilbur he met his family, Wilbur says his Dad looks like Tom Sellick. Later on, Tom Sellick actually is revealed to be the actor for his Dad. Surprised you didn't find this out
Lovee this movie, wanted to be Fran for Halloween haha
Please watch Onward! It makes me sob 😩😭
I did indeed have nightmares from bowl hat man!
Not us finding out Cornelius Robinson calls his wife Mom ;)
I watched this movie as a kid and I was terrified of Doris
It’s one of my favourite Disney movies
I will join the others. For a little over a decade, this was my favorite Disney movie. Then Zootopia came out and replaced it as my go-to comfort film. But Meet the Robinsons is still very close to my heart for its zany dialogue, embrace of eccentricity, and focus on family and redemptive optimism. Basically, this movie has a whole set of core values that are extremely important to me. It was one of the early wave of nerd protagonists (with Atlantis being another important one for me growing up-Belle was a nice prototype but also had way too much "not like other girls" and social ostracism happening to her because of her intelligence, and that was way too close to home for me to like it for long.) Besides, Meet the Robinsons is just fun.
I also think it's a freaking huge deal Wilbur took Lewis back to the night his mother surrendered him. You're right; if Lewis has spoken to his mother, it could have changed that baby's entire future and made him into a person who wouldn't even be the twelve-year-old Lewis Wilbur knew, let alone his father someday. Wilbur literally risked his life to keep his promise to his friend in the end, demonstrating a new commitment to honesty and to reciprocation in his family relationships. Shows promise for the person he'll grow up to be.
Omg my favorite Disney movie ❤
Edit: 19:33 that's the first time I've noticed that...😐
I’ve watched this movie multiple times and why is this the first time watching your reaction that I realised he called his future wife Mum. Don’t know how I feel about that.😭
This movie makes me cry so fucking much
2:03 now you realize😂😂😂
i am just like him smart but often unwanted
when i tell you, i could not watch this my ENTIRE childhood. i was TERRIFIED of the bowler hat guy. honestly still kinda am..
Robots was by Blue Sky. Rip Blue Sky, y’all only had two and a half good movies but I miss you anyways.
Ah, Bowler hat guy is too dumb and funny to be scared of. The bowler hat (Doris) scared me way more as a kid
Why does that dude kinda look like that bad dude from Mario I forgot his name
Edit:oh is waluigi
The ending got me
Thank you for this amazing reaction! This film is so amazingly underrated and the ending with the song “Little Wonders” is so heartwarming and satisfying! Here are 2 other films I like to recommend that are underrated; Baby’s Day Out and We’re Back! A Dinosaur Story.
🧑🏼🦱🧑🏻🤖👨🏻🕰
23:24 esa parte siempre me mata, tuve que aguantarme el llanto
Great movie 😊
What’s the book in the background with the fanart of the couple?? I want it😍
Really fun reaction, I love this movie. Too bad the movie's volume is so low
2/2 on both plot twists 👍🏼
Robots is by BlueSky entertainment
Be careful with yourself.
"All the mom's genetics"- kid loses one time machine, and wrecks the other after kidnapping his kid dad.......but it was right
Another underrated movie you should watch is storks
