    I say all of the time, drakes racial ambiguity and background give him crossover appeal, making it easy for him to move in and out of different genres and audiences. He’s a more palatable image of rap for the masses, and not black enough for them to get uncomfortable. He’s an engineered pop artist…let’s keep it real.

      and he is certainly karma for the way black men have used racially ambiguous women to undermine black women in the industry. They barely bat an eye to the rampant colorism the women face since they largely contributed to it now a mixed guy has all of the opportunities, into spaces and reaching audiences on a level they can't and they're feeling the sting. Especially as the genre has been going through a drought.

His voice irritated me but he gave women what they wanted to hear, a rapper who wanted to be a lover boy since he knew the hard pressed streets won't accept him. Women made him famous and it's women he disrespects the most. He has 2 children some say more but always with strippers. Remember that liala dancer on vlad said Drake isn't nice person. Smh

      I agree with u. I nvr understood y drake was accepted in rap and Im a blk woman. But if this is abt whether he’s a nice person or not it falls short for me. At this point the way I feel abt it, is ok yall accepted him dont switch up now. Ppl love to build someone up just to tear them down. And going the morale route to me just doesnt resonate because half if not more of these rappers arent “good ppl” so y r we discriminating. Future is an absolute menace and so is 50 cent. Its part of the reason I cant rlly get on board with this beef. He’s trying to moral grand stand and virtue signal Drake to death when the reality is thr r plenty of others arnd u that do the same. And if he’s a predator etc… y did u wait for a rap beef to speak up abt it? Men love to pick and choose, basically pretend, they care abt women and misogyny etc… when it fits their agenda. So the only diff I see is ppl feel he isnt “blk enough” and even tho I cant stand drake I can empathize with that part of him that probably wishes he had more access to the other half of his culture. Its not rlly his fault he didnt, its his deadbeat dad’s. He found that connection thru music and was able to appeal to the masses. So it is what it is. Ive probably intentionally listened to about 5 or 6 Drake songs my whole life and they were all songs where he was singing lol.

      @@NeonHelix20 maybe the difference is these men,future and 50 don’t fake like they’re good people 😂 this man is claiming to be a lover boy but hates women the he serenades is fake, plus ghost writers allegations. I notice celebs have respect for Drake until they meet him.

    • @NeonHelix20
      @NeonHelix20 5 месяцев назад +5

      @@jeweledthrone2850 he doesnt pretend. He can say lover boy all he wants he puts how he lives in his music regardless of what label he takes on. So its not rlly pretending. Most men who r terrible ppl dont see themselves that way, hence the loverboy title. Just bc those other men dont give themselves a virtuous title if we can even call it that doesnt rlly mean much. His serenade is no diff than any other F boy so I dont think there is a diff. U think Future got 1200 kids by telling women up front he was a bad person. Including Ciara? No he pretended. And Im not here for the “oh she should have known cuz she was the sixth BM” cuz what abt the first one. Or the second? Loverboy in my opinion suggests he’s player. It doesnt say woman lover, its lover boy. Not sure where the disconnect in that title is. If u met a guy that called himself that would u not immediately be concerned that he might be a womanizer? Thats what it says to me, huge red flag. Future doesnt see any issue with his behavior either. Thats y it continues. Plus the community supports it. The ghostwriting thing is trivial for me in regards to the overall issue I was speaking abt and it still doesnt warrant this type of attack, esp from someone who rlly has no footing to do so. When Pusha T dissed him I was here for it, so I rlly am not saying I would care if Drakes run came to an end but this beef is starting to feel gross to me.

    Spot on analysis. The pushback has NEVER been about him being biracial... it's because he is entirely fake. J cole is also biracial and does not experience the same pushback, as he is true to himself.
    Eminem is fully white and is not only in Kendrick's top 5, but he credits listening to his MMLP album as being a pivotal educational moment in his own journey.
    Mac Miller also fully white and respected by absolutely everyone in Hip Hop (especially Kendrick). Goldlink was the only person to ever try and speak even remotely bad on him, and the pushback he got from that literally ended his career...

Across the street is a hood but that means he never went to school with a lot of black folks stayed in his neighborhood so didn’t interact with a lot of us, until he started doing the music shit. It’s why half the city doesn’t fuck with him cuz he does nothing for the city. He aligned himself with three hoods. Two that are beefing with damn near an entire side of the city. He’s not like them either. That's why he feels so outta place. He’s been trying to find a place to fit in his whole life. His acting skills are impeccable, considering how long he was able to pull off this grift. If he had stayed in that lane, cultivated a “lady's man” image, and just made good movies, he wouldn't be in this position right now. Will Smith understood that very well. He knew he was too corny for hip-hop and bowed out gracefully, while still finding his lane and becoming wildly successful in his career. The beef in Hollywood is different than the beef in hip-hop. But he wanted to play with the big boys. His ego got the best of him. He didn't understand he is a guest in the culture, like the friend you invite to the family reunion.

I love Kendrick as well. I am not delusional like some Barbs or the Beyhive, I agree with this video because if you were there watching him on Degrassi, you would have never thought that he would become this entity called Drake. Idk if he will recover from this but it is hard seeing such a titan in hip hop get shot down. It like Olympus has fallen.

    As a dude from Toronto, I can tell you there is a lot of insecurity among the men here. We don't want to be perceived as soft, so many of us put on personas. Many of us grow out of it, but many are also stuck in this insecurity. The "Toronto accent" is so fake and cringy. Many of us need therapy up here.

    I’m from Toronto and was a drake fan. Drake grew up in Toronto which internationally is uniquely multicultural. I grew up with all kinds of ethnicities who had a similar accent to Drake, who were brown, Asian, and mixes of all types. There’s a very strong Jamaican, Caribbean presence and influence in the city, especially in certain areas of the city and that’s reflected in Drake’s accent, which he has emphasized or even embellished at times, but that’s no different than someone who may be proud of being from wherever you’re from, whether it be the Southern US or West Coast, or New York. In that regard respect I never viewed him as being fake. Him being mullato rap star, with a white Jewish mother, and being a former child actor all lends itself to the narrative that he’s playing a persona. Him choosing the name Drake as well. In his songs he always openly rapped about being someone “ faking it until you make it”, someone striving to play the rap game and make it big. So there was a sort of authenticity to his” playing the rap game”, if that makes sense, and people admire that because many of us look at him and they made it, no different than a sports star who makes it big. His incredible charisma and music talents, and ability to market his image, made the fame and money a reality. Unfortunately like many who grows up too fast with fame and money, this lead him to make many bad and careless decisions. The culture of womanizing and his fame hid the dangers of his misogynistic behaviour and interactions with minors. The image he built up will be tarnished forever.

      As a kendrick fan I wish he didn't make certain decisions and did what lil wayne told him "just be Canadian" he could have gained the acceptance he yearned from the black culture. Because eminem, mac miller, action bronson and more have gained respect through keeping it real and he's still half black in the end, it would have been easier than them. You could see all he wanted was acceptance, i feel bad for him but that doesn't take away from the bad things that he as done.

They are a danger to others because they are a danger to themselves. Because they don't know who they are, they don't know who they're loyal to, who's loyal to them, what to stand for, what to think. They float through life grabbing a hold of whatever brings them momentary reprieve from the anguish of feeling alone. A feeling that lives with them every day, through every momentregardless of whomever else is around. This is Aubrey Graham.
