I just hope it’s better than their SpongeBob games if they ever do a sequel. Both of the SpongeBob games felt very cheap, while Epic Mickey was a more AAA level experience.
They could get away with the lower budget feeling for Cosmic shake, since that was how Battle for Bikini Bottom was as well. But they can’t get away with that lack of polish for Epic Mickey 3
I played this game on the Wii when i was young this is a day one for me on steam. definitely buying a copy on switch so my son can play it like dad did on his Wii.

i recommend either on console (ps or xbox) or windows pc cause the switch version doesnt look too great in terms of visuals and fps
I remember playing this on the Wii. I initially was attracted by the AMAZING opening sequence, but was really thrown off and not a fan of the art style they chose for the other in game cutscenes. I had a hard time coming to grips with the mechanics and chucked it. But seeing the Rebrushed years later, and having become aware of the full story since my initial play, this might be worth giving another go.

You should definitely consider it. I’ve played some hours now on PS5 and it feels amazing. I remember how much issue I had with the controls on Wii. The color tone is warmer and brighter now, and with lots more detail, so it looks different. Though the cutscenes are the same low quality cartoon videos. (I have no idea why they kept the old ones) In all other aspects, it’s an amazing game.
if the system can handle this, why not release the physical versions of the Kingdom hearts series?

Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed has physical version on amazon website, and it has no connections to the kingdom heart series, epic mickey mouse is not connected to it at all. I think epic mickey mouse came out before the kindom heart series, the only common thing is they both have mickey mouse in them, but the video game series are not related at all, as far as I know oswald the lucky rabbit, never been in any of the kindom hearts video games.
The jump button being A is what bothers me, like purple lamp should give us the option to change control layout

There is an option to switch the button layout in the settings of the game.
Fantastic that they’ve fixed the flaws of the original which was something of a hidden gem in my opinion that just needed a little more polish in order to truly shine. Now let’s hope they can fix the car crash that was the sequel although they’ll have their work cut out with that one.
I loved this game on the Wii. It was a treat for Disney fan. I can buy it again since I don't want to dig my Wii out of storage. 😊😅
This game is awesome. Just played it a few minutes ago and I’m already pretty far through. On the Wii, I beat this game about 30 times. I always like to think I have the world record on times beating it. Such a great game, and my favorite game of all time.
Since Sega put Yakuza Kiwami on Switch, Square Enix should remember Sleeping Dogs!

I was initially gonna get this on switch until I played the demo and none of the sound effects for the first major enemy worked. That's when I decided to get it on playstation instead.
Played the Wii original and honestly, it was a depressing mess of an experience. Levels that were mostly dark coridors, a problematic camera and a level design that gave me at times a bit of a weird sense of direction...I am somewhat curious in the remade version based only of the included ideas and visions. I hope the majority of problems were able to be solved so I appreciate you guys checking it out.

The demo has some weird audio balancing on switch. It’s a bit quiet, but I can turn off the volume.
Its conserning you didn't mention at all the audio problems Epic Mickey has on the Switch version. For start, the game has a very low 'max volume' ... also, the game is missing tons of sound effects, problem that its not prrsent in the PS5 version... Amazed you didnt addressed that issue

I only have the experience of playing castle of illusion and playing the demo of this game sends me back again, love the exploration and use of paint to look for things.

My 3 year old loves Mickey - and I was hoping for something that she could watch me play..., but dang it this looks way too scary for her.
I never played Epic Mickey back in the day so this is a dream come true for me and yes, I can even tolerate the usual Switch related issues with frame rate if it keeps it looking this good.

I've been playing it and the only performance issues I've dealt with are ones from me pushing my gpu to it's limits lol, for the most part the performance has been good and I've been surprised how well I can run this game on not amazing hardware, I've been running this game at nearly max settings and 120 fps on a 2060, now console it may be different, but pc I've been impressed by the performance, the demo had my computer running hard on the identical settings, loaded up the full release today and notice a significant improvement in performance, they definitely have seemed to have done something to make it easier to run during that time, and I'm happy about to see that because it was a concern of mine when I played the demo.
I've tried the demo and it's quite lagging. I'm losing the point of releasing a "remastered" if they have to downgrade and still not reach a bare minimum performance target. At this point, the re-release of the original would've been a better option
This was super fun on Wii. Loved the different choices.
Lets hope they release a free upgrade for the switch 2, for better texture quality, a higher polygon count and a better framerate. Those are honestly really bad on switch right now.
It really feels like how the Wii was feeling in its later days. Mind you, the Switch has a much better library, but technology-wise the games just are having a hard time standing up when they are representing a graphical level which began in 2005 with the Xbox 360. It's amazing what Nintendo and partners have been able to do with it, but the road has basically run out. It's time for the next system.
Better framerate typically comes for free, as even at the same CPU and GPU clock speeds (like 3DS playing DS games), the larger cache sizes and their lower latency eliminate memory bandwidth bottlenecks.

I tried it on my 10yo laptop with a GTX 850m and it was running at 60fps no slowdown, just some fps drops on some cutscene...but overall was pretty good and playable... i didn't try yet on my high end pc...
when I played the demo I noticed a little bit but some of that was me pushing my pc a little far, but I did notice some stuff with it, happy to report that they've seemed to improve it A LOT on the full release
It’s a shame the Switch port is as poor as it is. The game itself is an incredible remake, but I’d never recommend getting the SWITCH version at full price with the system’s reputation of having a lower performance than its competitors. We are due for that new console now more than ever IMO
Uh, with the console update I would actually say it's worth it; if you're planning on getting switch 2. Otherwise just for portability probably still worthwhile depending on what you're more likely to use. For example, I'm not going to play this game unless I can sit on a couch and have a TV running in the background.
Of course If you have a steam deck, you can ignore everything I said.
N switch , if you're not a nintendo fanidiot and you know a minimum of hardware specs, you know that when N switch was released its hardware was already old... why you thought that an obsolete hardware can handle UE4 or 5 at 60fps no drops??
@@TheGenioInformatico-ju1hs exactly. Unreal Engine 1-3 is fine for the Nintendo switch, but higher is not good. This is running unreal Engine 4 and 5 is literally impossible for the Nintendo switch. It is impressive that's for sure, but definitely expect the drops.

Your review made me disappointed by seeing these dark levels only , but when I watched nintendo review, it made me excited again.. why you just review few levels ? There is alot of wonderful levels .. you also didn't talk about new abilities like dash and ground pound.

Im waiting a few years for a price drop. Because my file on Wii got glitched some how & I couldn't progress in one of the levels because an important item or thing got gitched out so I was stuck after having so much collection.

Just played the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 demos and the difference is huge, It's like playing Fortnite in both devices, on the Nintendo switch it looks like plasticine like if it was made with play-doh 💀 while in the ps5 it looks obviously so much better and realistic plus there's fps drops not often but every once in a while in the Nintendo Switch so yeah if you all got any other console or PC, play it in there.
I swear disney is trying to keep up the good will with the company with their games division

Just started playing, and it's immediately clear where the problems are. Lackluster graphics and lackluster performance.
With that said, so far I'm loving what they've added. A bunch of new collectibles for cool concept art, costumes and other stuff. I like how they slightly change up levels too, making them feel distinct and less repetitive to a long-time fan.

I was really disappointed in this game when it released on the wii back in the day. When i was a kid, i felt like i was false advertised to. It was touted as some disney RPG, and I assumed it would be more....rpg like. Its only rpg in the sense it has "quests" and has very basic moral choices, Doesn't help the platforming was pretty middling, but hopefully since they've cleaned it up(it not having a stomp, dash or sprint in the original is crazy) , and I know what to expect, I'll enjoy it more.

@Jackattack359 when did I say it was? If anything the advertising is at fault and like I said even the lack of "RPG Mechanics aside, the platforming was pretty mediocre.
But I enjoyed the demo for the remake a lot more.

I played the demo a few weeks ago and I was disappointed, The game did stutter for me in some moments and it looked really bad. Even doom eternal looked better.

I played this originally on the Wii and it was a very lackluster experience. While this remake looks better and runs better, it ultimately still looks boring to me. I hadn’t played the original since beating it back in 2010 and with good reason. It’s just not an interesting game.

Even if it were a total remake, Spyro and Crash Trilogies cost less and those are THREE remakes each that look and play much better than this. Hell, 60 bucks is the same price as Astro Bot, which is a brand new fantastic platformer that just came out. And you wanna tell me a remaster/remake of a crusty Wii game is worth the same price?? Here we go yet again with these horrible Switch ports. They're trying to get a game to run on the Switch when in reality they shouldn't even be trying to run it on such weak hardware.
Im sure any talented developer could have seen far ahead of time that the hardware in the Switch would never be able to handle this remaster and maintain a steady 60fps without making a lot of huge downgrades. And even then the game still can't maintain a steady frame-rate.
A decision should have been made early on proclaiming that because the Switch can't handle this remaster with all of its visual/gameplay improvements, it would therefore be a smarter move to simply port the original version to the Switch and get that frame-rate up as high it can go.
Because at least for me, there's nothing worse than trying to play a good game with a bad frame-rate, especially when the game you have is an unsteady 30fps while everyone else is playing a better version running at a solid & smooth 60fps.
I just think it would have been massively better to give us the old/og version with maybe a better resolution and certainly a much better frame-rate. People overall would be a lot more happy playing this game. And it would have been worth it to tell people that porting the newer remaster would have run like crap, helping people better understand why they ported over to the Switch the particular version they did.

I have and played Epic Mickey 2 on Xbox 360 when I was a kid back then, but I never had Epic Mickey 1 or had a chance to play so it's really AWESOME and i'm so EXCITED to see Epic Mickey one of Disney's BEST games is getting a Rebrushed Remaster for today's platforms Xbox Series X/S, PC, PS5/PS4 and Nintendo Switch even PS4 and Switch too what's so nice this game have EVERYTHING that I LOVE a 3D, but a 2D platforming both in really GOOD-looking colorful World! Of corse it would be a nice to play a mouse game on PC with a mouse, but I know I will get Epic Mickey Rebrushed for Nintendo Switch and I'll give The SCORE a 9/10 GREAT GAME: It's Mickey Mouse in the house ha ha let's rebrushing! 🏠🛋🛏🪞🖌🐀🌌🏰
