Hello Phil that is the best thing I've seen for years I've been trying to do this kind of thing for ages and now at age 69 wonder how much time i have left to learn it all.
But I see how important this is and will hope to get some of this stuff under my belt before too long .Fantastic work man !

Thank you Peter! If you do it the right way it won't take as long as you think. But you need the right way or else it's spinning wheels and time wasted on unfocused practice. Believe me. I feel your pain!

For anyone who has not checked out Phil's online school, I was in it for a year, and it completely changed my approach to rhythm and the way I play drums. Extremely worthwhile to players of any level

This is the most important drumming video of our time. He's exposed the trade secret of the greats. I can't believe this. This actually has changed my life. AMAZING

@@philmaturanodrums No no, thank YOU man. This is literally what I've been searching for. Wondering why the likes of Dave Weckl can seemingly go off in these tangent flows but it still comes around so smoothly, he's actually playing cycles of these rythyms....! Thank you man!

Great stuff ! Thanks. One question? @16:35 to be clear, you evened it out with the last phrase being a 4. To complete the cycle it must be played for 5 measures for it to roll over evenly yes? And thanks for adding to my workload LOL!

Well that is one element of drumming. But drumming is so vast. Thankfully it never ends and we can never ever dominate everything about it :-)
