  • Time to visit another Retro Game Store in Sweden. This one is called GameShop, not GameStop! I found a lot of cool AMERICAN and JAPANESE retro games in here for the SNES, Dreamcast, PS1, and so on. I also found some other uncommon items.
Its placed in the middle of Stockholm city. So very easy to get there if you ever visit this city. So what kind of retro game gems will I be able to find here? And what are the prices like? Enjoy!

Great look at a Swedish shop, Will absolutely go there when I’m in Stockholm this summer! Very nice to see so much old hardware on the shelves. Seems pretty expensive, not a place to pick up Japanese imports for sure. Still, I hope to find at least one game to support their business!

    • @RetroMoments

Nice, Björn! That sounds like a good idea!
Yea I agree, really cool that they have some unusual items like Atari Lynx and console bundles that you dont see very often.
Yea, their prices are all over the place, but its still possible to find good prices as well.
I might go back and pick up that NTSC Metal Gear Solid.
      Thanks for support as always!

It's rough to operate a retro game store nowadays by looking at this modern retro game store in sweden.
You might have to stock inventory that's game related but not actual video games, and the limited inventory out there with a lot of collectors out there and the prices being at an all time high. At least with some people moving over to digital it helps with the supply and also major nintendo switch and playstation game compilations and re-releases like recently with chrono cross it helps put more retro games back out into the wild.
Hope to see more swedish game store videos, thanks a lot.

    • @RetroMoments
      @RetroMoments  2 года назад +1

Definitely! You got a great point here.
You have to branch out today as a Game Store with board games and collectibles etc.
I think its all coming around with digital re-releases too. But who knows how long these stores will last. At least its in a much better place today than 10 years ago.
Thanks for the comment! Definitely more to come!

It's cool to see a retro game shop in Europe. Wow 180 USD for Streets of Rage 3 (I had to use a converter, since I don't know the exchange rate between the SEK and USD off the top of my head). I finally got around to buying a Japanese PS2 a few months ago and I have been buying lots of Japanese PS1 games as of late. Most of them arcade ports. I got some good titles such as In the Hunt, Strider 2, Guilty Gear, RayStorm, and RayCrisis, for a heck of a lot less that what their North American versions would cost.

I Got the neo geo x on release and got the small ''upgrade'' pack with it, best purchase of my life, the thing is still pretty much mint and proudly on my shelf, with the MEGA PACK 1 next to it, such a proud purchase, rarely played it, i just got it since i knew it was gonna be one heck of a display item and a nice center piece for my colelction, so damn happy with it, and i got it for around $150 at the time and i really don't know if it is still the same price, cheaper or more, since i don't care, just happy i have it.

I was in this store a couple of weeks back I went to Stockholm on a trip and took a bunch cash not knowing that Sweden close to being a cashless society. I had about £200 from what I can tell the prices are were all over shop I bought the sonic triple threat factory sealed that you can get a slight glimpse of in the front of the glass cabinet for about £16 they also had tails adventure just the cart but they were wanting 4 times that. I also got a good value on the special edition xenoblade chronicles I paid face value for the special edition final fantasy 7 remake and paid slightly more a dreamcast game and the triple mass effect pack for PS3 and even with everything a spent it was less than streets of rage 3 game.
