- A classic masterwork of a song composed by the colossal talent that is Burt Bacharach. This was first released as a song sung by Herb Alpert in 1968, but the definitive version for me is the cover that Noel Gallagher of Oasis did live in 1996 at the London Festival Hall.

One of the very best things we can do in life is contribute to the happiness of others as well as ourselves. Your lovely voice and really really nice feel on the guitar does this perhaps more than you realize! Just another one you may find interesting if you haven't already .. if only for the lyrics .. Sam Fender ' Hypersonic Missiles. Listen twice.. its a great piece of songwriting and unfortunately perhaps more relevant with every passing day!

@@RC60669 Thanks for the recommendation I'll check out Tommy Emmanuel. But yeah "Hurt" is also a gem of a song; and the Cash version definitely stepped it up a few notches from the Nine Inch Nails original. Even Trent Reznor says so LOL
