Thank you so much! Now we just need to wait for the monster video.
The 1 detail I wish you had included was how many people it takes to pilot or crew that can fit inside each mech.
No TSFs from Muv Luv?
actually a dreadnought from 40k isnt a mecha. its a cybernetic body. wheres the tachicoma? wheres the HAW 204 abd 206 from ghost in the shell?
You should do something else sea-monster related
⚠
I apologize for the size of Gurren Lagann, apparently the information in the different Wikis is a bit confusing, it usually varies between 5 and 12m, but it seems that 12m is the most official height for this mecha. I hope you accept my sincere apologies.
Yeah… you already have the “head” walking by earlier, the next step up is the head on top of a body that is nearly three times as large…
Apology accepted. 🤗
Nope... You are canceled for ever !!! that is how the interweb works. :)
This means a REDO on the vid with Voltron included as well!
The internet doesn't accept apologies.
I like how Hulkbuster walks like it's coming back from a lunch break and going back to the outrageous work.
Whoever's in the Hulkbuster obviously be jammin' to his radio.
Actually, the work culture at the Stark Industries is not favourable for robots. They are being exploited by the current management. And nobody is talking about it.
As a PRE-Endgame Marvel fan, if you were to put Tony in the H.B., he’d probably defeat ALL the other mechs! 😅
he must have been drinking if he fueled himself with alcohol instead of energon
That stride had me laughing so hard.
I love the detail at the end, where the finger/atmosphere heats up and breaks the sound barrier. Its something a lot of games/shows/comics/etc forget to include especially at the speeds some mechas tend to move as it scales to those ridiculous sizes.
I don't think that's just the sound barrier, that finger is going so fast there's nothing but plasma
It may also be a shout-out to Akura's Wrath first boss battle. OK, the buddha-like boss is technically an augmented human, not a robot. The hero (you) find himself under the atmosphere heated-up finger...
That's the Ashura's Wrath reference.
Super Galaxy Gurren Lagann: "Cute dog! Can I pet it?"
"Sure! Wait... who said that?"
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Macross cannon: Don't destroy him but pet him don't destroy the city
Macross cannon:Hey brother you are a cow
I LOL'd at Mazinger Z falling into the water @ 2:38
That had to be Mic Sounders XIII instead
"You had ONE JOB, Kouji! ONE JOB!"
Canonically, yeah, he piloted that poorly in the beginning. took him weeks to get piloting down (more or less the first 6 or so episodes, he was about as effective as a bull in a china shop)
@@shadiafifi54that's pretty sure wasn't Koji inside
Most likely Boss borrowed Mazinger without permission 😂
@zerosen2141 *insert mazinger spinning scene here*
I love how the Gipsy Danger part is a replicate on how it walked through Hong Kong, nice attention to details
I remember that scene
Def my favorite Mech film
I love the Mazinger just tripping over the railing and falling into the river.
Hulkbuster walked in and said “wtf is going on here??”😂
Mazinger Z's 2:42 confident walk and fall was too funny
Look like Boss piloted Mazinger without permission from professor Kabuto and Koji 😂
@@ZeroDarkness- Can you blame him? Modern SRW keeps denying us the Age of Fatso
Either Koji drunk
Or Boss piloted it
boomer falls xD
The Mazinger Z exit was so graceful!
like a swan, so elegant
it forgot to look down
Koji forgot to use the Skrander wings.
I thought Bobobot was the comic relief.
Graceful, riiight. He TRIPPED going into the water!
You are easilly the best of the size/data comparison channels. The work you put into these is unparalleled.
Gurren Lagann just casually walking around, knowing that he solos every mech in this video.
The atmospheric effects in the last part of the video made the scale so much more impactful. Really well done.
Remember the Russian meteor that lit up the sky? If that finger came through the atmosphere, it would be so bright, no one would see the finger.
You can thank Asura's Wrath for that one.
Yea that last one would make one shit bricks
The last one, I was hoping for atmospheric reentry effects and boy was I not disappointed! Excellent!
Same, that ender was amazing!
It's also the size of the moon (having literally been it), not half the size of Earth.
@@obrysiiIf it is curled up into a ball (Moon), then it wakes up and straightens out, then it can very much be half the Earth.
Gurren Lagann will always be the bigger machine.... ALWAYS....
the finger to pierce the heaven
I totally FELT that video with all of them marvellous models walking/flying by! Totally immersive, thank you ever so much for that! 🤩
Mazinger Z eating it at 2:43 into the river caught me off guard and made me spit out my coffee lol.
I love how this is like a catwalk for mechs, as they just casually destroy the set.
Of course a robot built by Eggman would be the first to be too extra in its entrance lol
My thoughts exactly 😂😂
i thought it would be bigger.
@@sarcanicus1 well sonic is pretty small so it seems bigger in the games. and he HAS used bigger mechs in later games to be fair
@@mattsen4297 your right and in contrast to sonic size it would look much bigger.
I've been watching your videos for ages and I love them so much, and im so proud of how much you've grown and learnt 🥺
crazy!, ive had references of their sizes but against a backdrop of a pre-rendered cityscape, its much daunting to imagine. wow, and just about every genre ive known was included here. Great Job!
5:15 Walking Macross is something I didn't know I needed to see in my life.
And I had forgotten how ungodly huge a Macross Cannon was comparitively.
Funny story... my grandma found a Macross action figure abandoned in her yard when I was a kid. It took years until I finally knew what it was other than an awesome action figure.
😂😂😂@@EdStarwind
Wait until you see it moon-walk...... 🐄🛸
canon wise it cannot walk. even on earth it can only hover.
Mini Lego construct-o-mech: dododo just Walking along.
The rest of the mechs: *total chaos walking around*
Super galaxy gurren Lagan: *destroys the planet with his finger*

goodbye earth
and that wasent even noware even close to the gurren lagans most curnetly kown most powerful form thats litraly 1000 times biger then the known visable universe by the way. heck that was like only its sixth most pwoerful form that poket eaeth to death by the way. it gets so F*** big that it has to become moslty a pure energy form after its sixth most powerful from trasforming into its 5th most powerful kown from after that pont its no longer a mech but a new state of being bascly at that point powerd by the power of frendship and love to litraly take out super big bad eveil stuff that could swqsh omnicron and galatics like it was a gosh darn ant or bug. well thats untill galacius just bascly eats the gurren lagans finger right off and then bascly makes a new universe from the gurren lagans finger that had all the energy comeing from it that bacly fully feed and toped off galctus to full capsity that is.
@@PROTOHYPE.0088 he apologised for that, so accept that.
That was fantastic! The finger burning in the atmosphere like an asteroid is an amazing detail!
Cool Video conceptually.
The earlier mechs didn't really give me a sense of scale but the more fantastic the sizes got coupled with the sound and depth of field and blur really made the much larger mechs feel incredibly large.
the SDF-1 Macross walking was hilarious...
Interestingly, I don't think it ever actually does walk in the actual series. It flies, it lands, but it never walks.
I doubt it even can walk... its mass would rip it apart if it wasn't supported by both legs directly under its center of mass. It's meant for space, not walking around the park. lol
The fact it can transform both in space and in the atmosphere mean you dont really to worry about its frame, all the metal plate and stuff.
When in doubt, Alien Overtechnology
@@askovtk4834I mean granted it was never meant to transform in the First place, humans kinda just juryrigged it
@@cmj0929 Exactly, yet another reason it probably can't walk.
Brilliant like usual. Mazinger Z falling into the river was funny.
Bet the pilot wasn't Koji but Boss

Awesome video! Your work has gotten so much better since the beginning!
I love that Buddha's Palm/Gongen Wyzen finger reference at the end 👍🏻👌🏻
gurren lagann is so insane if the list kept going half the biggest ones would be from it
they got guren wrong tho its like 30 meters tall not 5....
He did another video with the others showing their size.
@@pigswhen102 30 is a bit too much, going with Lagann head proportions it should be around 15m~20m

This was amazing. love the cinematography and keeping it at eye level. You truly get a sense of scale. Bravo
Balam Industries sponsored field trip.
Best field trip of my life
the Idea came from the man who died from a fall...
come to think of it...
WHY i just equating Michigan to a certain french soldier who refused to die in both World Wars and the thing took him out was falling down the stair....

"GURREN LAGANN YOUR ABILITY TO RUIN MY FIELD TRIPS IS UNCANNY!!!"
Yo, first time caller, long time listener. As someone whose had experience with 3D modeling, rigging, and animation, I have great respect for the production of this video. Every walk cycle provided was quite unique, and true to every mech with their design, as well as how these animations relate to the environment. Kudos, keep challenging yourself, you're on the right track
I understand this is a lot of work, but how are the animations true to their design when we have seen many of these machines already animated and moving quite differently?
waht are you talking about?@@Kenny833
lmao these are all default walk cycles, except for the non-bipedal designs, which all look janky af
In addition to the comments already made, I'd also add that several of the walking cycles looked like they were limping, or gang walking.
Just enjoy it and say thanks. :D
Wonderful video idea, always wanted to see a mecha up close, great vid as always!
I have so much respect for your material. I always love watching your videos.
3:11 Love how Big-O has such a simple yet iconic design. Loved the show as a kid even though I couldnt understand a lick of it until I got older.
Was disappointed it didn’t have the iconic walking sound effect…
BAWONG!! BAWONG!!
Built in the name of god. Ye not guilty!
Didnt watched this series in years, but this epicness line is impossible to forget.
@@MegaNandoXZ omg you need to you can find almost all of it on youtube if you know where to look! its a hell of an acid trip!
I love how the Super Galaxy just casually pulled an Asura's Wrath
Here from Manni Gaming???
4:08 that looks familier
Dude that last shot of the finger coming through the atmosphere was amazing
Its like that Mega Wyzen vs Asura scene from the game cutscene🔥🔥
I didn't know 90% of these but it was still incredibly entertaining. Great job!
I couldn't identify a single one without the caption. My knowledge of video game / cartoon / movie characters is abysmal.
The world of mecha is vast despite being niche.
Also a few of the Mecha Shown can wipe reality as we know it. A couple of the others were literally walking Nuclear bombs
I love how these just suddenly got comically large very quickly! Great video!
Just being super nerdy here, 2:15 this is most likely AC Oracle, but without weapons.
And dreadnought is not a mech, you don't actually pilot it or able to leave it, it's a grimdark walking tomb, not a animu mecha.
6:10 bloody hell that Asura's Wrath moment.
Also I like to mention some additions, the Mechs from Aldnoah Zero (Great anime, terrible end), Metal Gear Excelsis, mechs from Section 8.
I didnt have “see a fellow Aldnoah Zero fan in the wild” on my bingo card this year!! 😮🎉
also the mech from Gargantia on the Verderous Planet
I'd enjoy seeing some of the bigger Zoids in the mix too.
There's so many that need to be added. Someone should make another with more mechs.
@@rohsek7298 We exist, and we're still not over it.
Holy sh*t, this is your best one yet! I always forget how *huge* Vah Naboris is 😳 and then that ending with SGGL, terrifying in an awesome way lol
Yeah the divine beasts are fucking huge huh? I now picturing if canon took them back over and they were just like destroyed in the depths of like partially destroyed
Ikr? For some reason, my mind put AT-ATs at the same size as Naboris
Terrific video. Although I missed the Battletech/Mechwarrior ones and smaller Robotech and Macross Models. A big thumbs up for the effort that scale worked amazingly.
This reminds me of a video game walking simulator, where your a regular person walking about whilst a massive mecha (evangallion) fight is going on, it's about seeing such a thing from the perspective of a regular person.
I knew Evas were bigger than Gundams but I didn’t realize Gundams are snack size to them
Wrong size here actually
@@ekulerudamuruyeah Eva’s are 80 meter (although it did say +/- 30)
typical gundam are only building in size ,normally at 18m
And don't forget, Eva, They are not mechas
If you're going to have the Macross, you got to have a Valkyrie! :p Nice vid
Speaking about Macross, does it ever actually walk like in the video? It def doesn't in the original series, II or Plus, maybe im missing something
@@Xen_19 I've never seen Macross walk, but most of my experience is what got reboxed into Robotech
SDF-1 Macross actually fly through space (even during the transformation mode). When it crashed during the Zentradis' "Rain of death" only the interior part of the ship was repaired, making it looked like it was no longer operational.
@@Xen_19 The Macross' "legs" weren't really functional as anything other than propulsion. The arms were they only parts shown to be mobile. Well, guess the cannon as well.
@@hermeticallysealed1 Yep. The game Strike Suit Zero is as close as I've seen to a Macross experience.
This is the first time my neurons connect that Star Wars walkers could be considered Battlemechs
I love the casual strides you made some of these have. Shmoovin' on downtown
Great vid, loved the variety of mechs, the Big O especially surprised me for getting to be in this! Very cool!
It was great seeing Big O. I like his design, he's not a shiny and sleek, he's a bruiser.
I had the privilege of seeing the RX-728 when I went to Japan and I confirm that the Gundam looks much larger and more intimidating than in the video
I was wondering about this too. Watching it on my phone and always seemed that mobile suits where bigger. Still a fun and cool video
"It's a Gundam!!!"
Yeah most Gundams are not that short, maybe the F91 would be though
Also no Psycho L
Oh, yea, this video gets the scale all wrong for TONS of these.
It's super obvious from early on, when the Hulkbuster is already immediately WAY too small, and then the Megazord is way too small, and then Mechagodzilla is way too small, and Metal Gear Rex was way too small, and the Big O is way too small, and the Gundam is way too small, etc etc etc.
It seems like everything is depicted as only about 1/2 to 3/4 the height they're actually supposed to be.
@@ieykeThe Venerable Dreadnought was terribly scaled. The Astartes already dwarf a normal person and the Venerable Dreadnought dwarfs an Astartes so how the hell does it look so small.
I just love how everything gets increasingly more destructive as they get bigger and bigger XD
Loved the Gypsy danger, but I've never heard of the Tengen Toppa franchise
Amazingly done! Please do more videos with 1st person perspective. It puts the size in more context
Not a single battletech mech was harmed in the making of this video.

Awesome!
Missing the 10-20m BattleMechs from BattleTech / Mechwarrior.
I agree, I was patiently awaiting an Atlas or Marauder in there.
I quit watching the video after I realized he forgot BattleMechs.
Whats funny is for 3d model's they're the easiest to fine as the tabletop models are open source. Every MW game has the files ripped so 1-5 with rigs.
Hoped to see some as well but my geek brain is more than content with this.
Yes. On road trips on I 5 id daydream about battlemechs fighting over the country side lol

Boy, you're about to discover something special
Like literally designed by a 6 year old boy
4:03 The camera angle moves just like in Pacific Rim movie!
One, oh my god, this is awesome!
Two, It is so weird seeing these constructions from the vantage point of a person actually being there. It's almost frightening.
And three, oh my god, this is awesome!
Love the mix of old and new mechas. This is one busy neighborhood.
And it used to be such a nice little park
The 1 detail I wish you had included was how many people it takes to pilot or crew that can fit inside each mech.
That should be hard to many of the bigger ones. Most gundam are single person crew, macross-1 is like 7 to crew the bridge... the other big ones should be total expeculation... (evangelion is 1 or 0, depending if it is awaken or not)
Well, the Macross had a ships compliment of close to 20,000 and they rescued 58,000 civilians and other military personnel after the jump to Pluto. Obviously they lost thousands of men and women on the journey home, but the ship nearly had 80,000 souls at it's peak.
Well, the Ideon had a pretty substantial crew from what I remember. While most mechs in fiction tend to be either single or double seaters, some take far more people to run.
The POV size comparisons are an awesome idea. I loved it.
6:12 asura try to hold that finger
The swagger from the Patlabor mech is great!

@@kagemarunl Isn't it? The show is considered "old" now; but as far as I was concerned, it was my favourite television / movie IP at the time. It hands-down beat live-action shows. The reason is that it was the great character development and world building. Patlabor was the best; but when Patlabor EZY is released this year, it will continue the greatness. It looks good.
Great video! This "in first person" videos really let you grasp the size of things. If you manage to make them for VR that would push the awesomeness even further!
Great job on the video. I enjoyed every second of it
Great work. Would have loved to see BattleTech/MechWarrior represented, but still a lot of fun to watch!
I noticed that on all his videos, i was hoping for 3 simple ones. like Locust, Timberwolf, and then Atlas. And same on the tank video, maybe having a Manticore or something would have been nice.
The scale on those has been all over the place at times, but I think they've more properly normalized them these days. :D
@@werewolfducky3149I would have been happy with just one representative. Preferably, an Atlas, given its iconic status.
@@LayneBenofskyMakes sense. I mean, An Atlas is 100 tons. Supposedly anyway. But when I look at an Abrams tank, which weighs in at 60 tons, things begin to not add up. An Atlas could stomp on an Abrams tank, under just one foot. Which makes ZERO sense.
Like, are they trying to tell me that my Quickdraw 'mech is the same weight as an Abrams tank? Really? No. That is just insane.
The most ridiculous of them all though are the light 'mechs. ALL of the light 'mechs are completely and totally outside the realm of reality. All light 'mechs are straight up impossible. You can't even point to any part and say "Yeah, that part is hollow." as an excuse, like you might be able to do with the larger 'mechs.
A Jenner in real life would probably weigh around 150 to 200 tons. I may even be too conservative on that, it could be more. 35 tons is their listed maximum weight. And indeed, there are 60 ton tanks, that exist in the Battletech universe, that are smaller than a Jenner. Like, what?
Mechs of the battletech universe aren't made of steel (mostly aluminum/titanium alloys) so they can be a lot bigger and more mobile for their weight. The closest they get is a material called endo-steel and that's a lightweight composite with very little actual iron in it.
This desperately needs to be a fully realtime 3D scene in PC VR / SteamVR.
Would have liked to see some smaller Robotech (or Macross / Mospeada) mechs, from the Mospeada Cyclone to the Veritech fighters.
This is really cool! I wish there had been at least one 100 tonne Battlemech in there, or maybe Voltron. Either way, I love your work and your ability to merge both commonly known pieces and some of the more obscure corners of nerddom.
I so badly want to see this in VR. The sense of scale would be awesome. I bet a lot of this could be ported into something like VRC without too much difficulty O:!

Maybe because the designs were pretty much ripped off from other IP?
@@Jayy997 One IP possibly being Macross/Robotech, from some of the images I saw in "manuals" in bookstores back in the day.
@@Jayy997 only at the start. Then it's all original. Hell, the Mad Cat design is simply iconic...
@@Jayy997 Not ripped off. Licensed, and that is only a minority of the many, many Battletech mechs which have been created since the game was first made in the mid 80's. For a while the licensed mechs were known as "the Unseen" because of Harmony Gold (Robotech) claiming to own them, a claim which has later been shown to not hold water as HG were claiming rights they did not in fact have and the Unseen are back, but with updated and more modern looking redesigns for the most part.
At the very least an Atlas and/or a Mad Cat/Timberwolf would be appropriate as those are pretty much the most iconic Battletech mechs and both are original designs.

I was a bit sad no battlemechs from BattleTech were in this. I’d have also liked the hunter heavy gear from dream pod 9’s heavy gear, but that one is fairly obscure comparatively.
@@Skigress Maybe we should encourage MBS to make a part 2? with Votoms, Valkyries, Voltron, BattleTech, Macross Frontier, ETC...

Very surprised to see nothing from Mechwarrior / Battletech in this, not even the Madcat.
I was also hoping for Heavy Gear which was inspired by AT VOTOMS. Also Code Geass. Those are all similar mechs but I guess Titanfall filled in for them.
I think it's funny how some of the mechs walk with a certain swagger xD
I was a bit surprised you didn't got for a next to represent armored core. Seeing as those are the biggest we get to pilot.
