Upward would be choking the reed, I mean it still does the Job of changing the pitch in a smooth way, but the tone gets maybe a little worse? Just asking because I saw videos where they did both but just told that you have to decide one way or the other, if you do both it sounds really funky and goofy

Because we can bend notes down but we can’t bend up. Once the movement is smooth the note will have this really nice ondulation 😀
