  • **PLEASE NOTE: This Tutorial was created to demonstrate the features in V10 which is no longer the current software available, and is here for reference to customers using V10. Please refer to the latest software playlist for the current set of tutorials.**
    This video demonstrates a feature that allows you to take a vector profile and create a toolpath that in effect extrudes that profile along another vector shape. This is ideal for creating moulding profiles, arches, frames etc. The toolpath can use a combination of a flat tool and ballnose to more efficiently rough and finish the shape.

    Nice tutorial. Just wondering if the vector was drawn like say a window with four panes, would it be possible to create the profile on both sides of the vectors?

      Hello Keith... if you reverse the direction of the drive rail you will be OK. Do one side, then hover over the drive rail with your mouse and right click, select "reverse direction", you sould see the cross section pop to the other side. Give that a go...

      @@vectric thank you. I haven't got my Onefinity fully set up yet as there is an issue with the newer model Makita router here in Ireland. I have to say, they seem to be a very robust machine and I can't wait to try out some of the projects I have in mind.

    Great video!! In Desktop, can I make my own profiles and can I put them onto a bowl or dish?

      It's possible to create a bowl using the moulding toolpath, depending on the design you may need to add in a pocket toolpath too :) I hope this helps!

    can i do that on an arm rest?

    • @vectric
      @vectric  2 года назад

      Hello Jobel... thanks for the qustion. If the arm rest was not on a contour. The Moulding Toolpath can not be projected onto a 3D surface so it would need to be a stright arm rest.
