    Porsche AG has been down this very "Engine Replacement" road. .. The MY99 thru '04 911 (996) Carrera's .... A large percentage of the series 996 cars had "Full-On complete engine" replacements. .. Porsche AG shipped thousands of crate 996 engines to USA dealerships for warranty engine replacements. .. Been there, done that. .. P.S., The MY99 thru 2004 Boxster cars were also effected. ..

    The first law is to avoid completely redesigned vehicles in the first two or three years of production. I doubt they'll go for a long block as Toyota doesn't sell then that way and unless there's damage to the heads he'll probably end up getting a short block.

    • @Torquenews
      @Torquenews  29 дней назад +2

      Especially with a redesigned car, waiting a few years can be smart. On the engine, you're right, Toyota usually goes with short blocks. Hopefully, the damage is limited to the block and the heads can be reused.

    Need to buy a new truck to get the new truck. That's how this works. There are "Lemon Laws" but i think are only good for 90 Days. If the insurance company totals the vehicle that would be different tho and given complexity of modern electronics not as far fetched as seems.

    • @Torquenews
      @Torquenews  29 дней назад +1

      You don't necessarily need a whole new truck to get that new truck feeling back. Lemon laws can be helpful, but coverage periods vary by state. In some cases, trading in the truck after repairs might be an option, though the trade-in value might be affected. If the repairs are covered under warranty and the wait time isn't excessive, getting the engine replaced might be the most practical solution.
