Finally, someone who's smart enough to grow food on their land and not cover it up with concrete. well done
Yes oh, Many of our people copy and do things to impress instead of doing things for their own self developments. 🙄
I just don`t understand some Ghanaians, some using shinning wall tiles to cover the pavements which then become slippery and people falling all over especially those estate houses. 😞
Operation feed yourself. I love it. If only all the young unemployed in the big cities will even take on backyard gardening, a chunk of their food needs will be met.
Thank you!! Now they all want to teach people to be an entrepreneur by paying at least GHs100 to listen to them on their phone
Thank you!
Please ensure that you remove the dry leaves as well as banana stem (cut them into small pieces) and put them under the plants as natural fertiliser.🙏
Thank you, Odopa!
Good harvest right there, in Uganda 🇺🇬 we call it Matooke , banana plant but preferably after it flowers and brings fruit remove the flower earlier so that it becomes bigger than that.
Thank you, Esther!
Yes 🙌 that’s Ghana 🇬🇭 the motherland
Where everything can grow.
Well done my beautiful family
👏👏👏👏👏
❤from 🇺🇸
Thank you, Linda! So true!
Unfortunately, we must all call the government of Ghana to band weed killer. It's destroying the lands. Now we can't get wild mushroom snails and more.
Oh yes I’ve not seen mushrooms for some time. I see a lot of snails in our area and even in our garden. They ate almost all the lettuce we planted lol
Ghana Obama to the world , Family by Nature and Nature by Family ❤❤❤❤❤❤.
Lol thanks for watching, Tony!
We call it Lady of the Night here..in the Caribbean..beautiful fragrance..
I love that plant lol. I visited a friend’s house as a school boy and the fragrance stuck in my head:) Will add two more:)
I have watched almost all your videos now. It quite inspiring to be back home
Thanks so much, Micky! It is. Glad we made the decision to move back home.
Refreshing, who wouldn't want this quality and fresh of produce from own garden?🥰🌳🌴🌴🍍🍅🍓
Bumper harvest.. Always feels good when you harvest from your compound. What a good feeling it is. Every land in GH is fertile enough to produce food to feed us.. A blessed nation for that matter...
Absolutely, Fred! It feels and tastes sooo good! I did a lot of ginger banana smoothies lol. We are blessed indeed!
Mr. Nimoh: now it’s clear you’re “Dada ba” . You never went to farm in your early days.Plantain and Bananas bears only once per tree. Glad you now like farming, and you are doing well with the garden.
Lol thanks! We had some small backyard farm mainly maize. We were into poultry farming in Tamale.
At the back end plant some fruit tree like guava and pomegranate its a small size trees they have full of benefits nutrients. Plant ginger in a square feet is more than enough you will use for the whole year. By the way don't plant any tree close to coconut tree it will curved from escaping a near tree shadow.
Thanks a lot! We have a guava tree which is a bit close to the wall so will replant it.
Sir, if you plan to use the piece of space for planting food crops, I would suggest that you find a way to get rid of the grasses, put about 2 trips of black soil over the ground and do your planting...my humble suggestion.
Thanks for watching and sharing with us, John.
Right now plantain is in harvest and the prices are down..so I'm eating lots of fried plantain..
Hello from the Caribbean..🇹🇹
Thanks for watching, Debbie! Yes when it’s in season the price is good:)
I like your garden so much. Good use of space than concreting all the compound. I have all sorts of vegies and flowers growing here too. Makes the home therapeutic. I will keep on adding more.
Agree
Thanks so much, Richmond! We love greenery and nature so that was very important in designing the landscape. It’s indeed therapeutic. The family has even started playing badminton on the carpet grass:) I love the fragrance of the queen of the night plants in the evening especially when it’s breezy:) I’m glad I designed the landscape myself and executed it with the help of the mason.
The water that supplies the banana comes from the the banana tube and not that thing that hangs down at the bottom of the fruit, you have to cut it when the banana tree stop sprouting because it takes the strength that your banana needs to grow into bigger tubes out of the tree.
Thank you Esther for the education.
And use the tubes as natural fertiliser. Cut them into small pieces and put them under your plants.
My grandfather used to put it on the hook hanging. When it ripes, you pick it up what you need.
Thanks for watching and sharing, Nina. We left the other ones to ripe last year and unfortunately the birds almost ate half of it:)
Look at that!!
Bountiful harvest:)
Wow this is really good to harvest your own food, I guess you guys are really proud, also Mr Obama is very knowledgable about all the food. Nice 👍🙏
Thank you! Oh yes it’s great harvesting crops from our own backyard:) Obama is very knowledgeable in many areas.
Hello, I have just come across your channel and i like your garden so i would like to buy some of your short banana tree for my garden at Sukwae please. i have so many tall banana trees Thanks
You can even plant paw paw, sour sop and guava. Those ones don't take much space. There are also avocados that don't grow very big. I wish I had that much space to play with. You are blessed. How is Daddy's girl doing?
Thank you, Eunice and also for the tips. We are getting avocado from my mum’s house:) We look forward to grow more stuff. Daddy’s girl just came back from school:) She’s fine. Thanks!
Great harvest. If you hang the banana using a rope by it top end in an open space outside your home it will ripen nicely within a couple of days and your family will enjoy ripe bananas . Congratulations👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Thank you, Evelyn!
Welcome. Enjoy your gardening
Thanks Evelyn. Learning a lot too:) It’s great doing something we couldn’t do in Europe:)
Continue to enjoy your gardening and as much as possible walk barefooted on the grass and ground and feel the natural energy energizing your body coming up through your feet and body. Grow pawpaw tree for its fruits and medicinal benefits from its leaves and roots . God bless
Thanks a lot, Evelyn! I’ve heard some good things about the barefoot walking. Need to start practising it:)
Thank you I have learnt something about growing bananas and community living too.
There is no finish line to learning 😂😂😂 your t shirt says it your colleague knows his stuff about crops
I could hear Mrs from the background greetings to her ❤ Obama to the world😅😅
EWNS home is best your videos are very educative and inspirational be abundantly blessed
Job well done my brother 👍👍👍👍
Thank you, Joana!
Yes, banana is one and done
Cool video sir.
Biotech aproved!
Many thanks!
What a fantastic blessing 😊 God is soooo awesome🎉🎉🎉
Indeed! Thanks for watching!
The old stem and leaves is cut into pieces and used to cover the soil for water retention and later becomes soils manure. Reason no small banana stems growing is because of overcrowding. That type of banana is used as snacks once ripe or used to make traditional fermented sweet alcohol. That stem at the bottom should be cut after it flowers as it stops the banana from getting big. Great job Obama and the family. Nice garden all around the house! Better than concrete. Glad you are moving cassava or anything with deep roots should not be near the wall as it burrows under and leads to cracks over time! Also palm trees - depending on type- should be far from the roof as it’s branches are heavy. Thanks 🙏🏿
Thanks for watching and sharing your knowledge with us. Much appreciated!
@@FamilyByNature welcome
Noting like fresh banana with no spaying 😊
Absolutely!
Please don't forget to make a video of the ripe banana
I’ve turned them into smoothies already:) Never mind, the next harvest is around the corner:)
Thanks for the feedback..will patiently wait for that
My pleasure. Thanks!
You have a nice garden how many plots is your land you still have plenty of space even to build another house if you wanted to
Thank you! It’s actually two old plot size, but actually four of the new plot sizes as our current building occupies a quarter of the plot.
Wow, Ghana, the land of honey .
Indeed!
Awww kumasi, my dad is from dejamso forgive me not sure how his town is spelled. 😍
Thanks for watching! No worries:) I guess you mean Dichemso.
Nice One Bro If Return To Ghana Make Farm ❤.
Thanks for watching!
Looking good. It very rewarding to grow and harvest your fruits and vegetables. Do you know cow poop mixed into the soil is good for veggies and fruit growing. Enjoy ❤❤❤
Thanks so much! It is indeed rewarding and motivating.
Great content as always. Thanks ❤️
Thanks a lot, Lydia!
Awesome. Harvesting already? Wow!
Yes ooo lol. They grew it before we moved in so we’ve been harvesting small small:)
Whenever I see the cassava leaves from distance I think of something else.
I can imagine lol
Eeeiii very interesting 🤔, I'm really learning a lot in farming. This is called living. I'm happy for you and the family. Great content, Obama is a nice person to have in the community. Enjoy your banana. Greetings to you all, the family.
Beautiful...regards to Obama ..x
Thanks sis! Will tell him.
The best is to put them in cool store and allow nature to ripe them instead of forcing them to ripe all at the same time because they`ll rot.
Absolutely! Thank you!
Love green boiled bananas with salt fish stewed with onions green and red peppers, tomatoes, seasoned with garlic, tomatoes, tyme, curry, gloves, yummy, avocado on the side.
Sounds yummy! Thanks for watching.
You have gained another subscriber.
Thanks a lot! Welcome to the family!
You have to plant things which you can eat like jack fruit
Thanks!
My brother is shocked that the whole tree only fruits just once..... 🤣🤣🤣
Yes ooo sis lol
🤣🤣🤣🤣He was talking about straightening the bended tree up!!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
When i saw that reaction, i knew he wasn't a village boy 🤣😂✌blessed. But he love his natural foodies.
I know lol. Actually we thought the tree would fall because of the weight. That’s why we decided to harvest it lol. Anyway it’s fun and great learning experience.
Lol Odopa so true! Wished I had spent more time with my grandparents in the village back then lol. Hmm my hometown Appiadu is even not a village anymore lol. How things have changed!
Throw all your kitchen waste under all those plantains for manure. All the peelings of peeled cassava, plantains. They only things not to be thrown on them are recyclable stuff.
Thank you. Wifey had a compost in our garden in the UK and she mentioned that recently. Thanks for the reminder:)
YOU DONT NEED BLACK SOIL, ALL WHAT YOU NEED IS SAW DUST. IF YOU MIX SAW DUST WITH THE SOIL, IT WILL GOING RUTTING AND INTO ORGANIC FERTILIZER AND IT WILL GROW YOUR FOOD VERY FAST
Thank you!
all those bananas in europe can go for abt 25 to 30 dollars
Absolutely!
Don't compare that your GMO banana to this Ghana's organic banana.
Thank you for sharing but why is it you not show the beautie of Kumasi please.
Thank you for watching. We live here permanently so we will definitely do more Kumasi videos although we’ve covered some on our channel.
This is called healthy sustainable life that west systems don't allow us to have so they can control us till death 😅😅😅😅
Lol
Be careful with the same.. it stains badly ppl
Thanks:)
If you pour kerosene or paraffin it disappears 😂 from the fabric and of course hands and knife
What did Obama say is the reason for sprinkling saw dust around a pepper seedling
The saw dust he meant was the chicken poop:)
Oh my brother are you daddy bee you telling us you don't know how plantains grow come on hahaha
I don’t pretend to know everything. If I’m not sure of something I’m always wiling to learn and also listen even if I know some parts.
Some of us are also learning with you😊
@@PaperFloDesigns awesome! There are a lot of the plants and crops we are all familiar with, but few know the detailed info of each of them. A good example for me is the plantain or the banana family. We eat them and they grow all around us, but it never occurred to me the harvest is once and after that the tree dies. That was very interesting to know:)
It once so the the babes coming up too be your profit
Thanks, Kwasi!
How do you get the seeds to plant the banana
There are several plant and garden centres around.
oh, I hear Obama can give me some for free🤣😋will get in touch. Thanks
Yes:)
Is it banana or plantain?
This is banana.
Banana
Its won't grow again 💦🙏🧕☝️🌏
Yes I learnt something new:) Thanks for watching!
