My son sent me a link to "Hi Ren" while i was in mentalhospital once again, dealing with my illness. The song gave me ..... HOPE. And now, home again, I listen to Rens music EVERY day! And I would so much like to thank him for how he have litelary saved me, and given me a voice. I love ALL of his music and really connet with it. I know a schizophrenic that was very lost and couldn't find his voice amongst the others. Then his ear was piqued by Ren. Now he uses Ren's music to rediscover his voice every morning. I'm ever grateful for this.
That is beautiful on so many levels, dang, music, compassion, understanding and respect is so underestimated as tools for healing or just getting through those days that seem to be impossible to even start from the moment you open you eyes in the morning. ❤
Abt true talent is laid out for us to enjoy , renovations. And his voice him truly playing al his musical, and his lyrcs. What a most genuine of gifts, simply amazing
No disrespect, but are you referring to a person with a mental illness, or are they nothing but the label? My sister suffers from the same illness, and I would NEVER refer to her as a mental illness, because she is so much more than that.
Man... so im here now, 43, and saw this guy, Hi Ren being used on one of those first time reaction videos, i scrolled a little more and there he was again. So i gave it a listen and ive been stuck listening to each and every song as they come up and omg, this is not "just a good" song kinda guy. Hes a whole experience! He has a gift that is pretty powerful and its clear to me as a single mom with severe depression and anxiety, theres NO WAY no one can describe these things if not feeling them theirselves. God has spared him for his testimony to save others! Hes got the most beautiful mind and way with words... its a very nice change from what im used too! Best of Wishes Ren! I pray you continue to share your story and TOUCH some lives. Give THEM the will to change it!
I am old. I was a Beatles and Stones baby, born in '60. I was just the right age for the explosion of good music in the late '70s and early '80s. And then came Prince, the GOAT, who saved my life over and over again from deep depression - 17 days, Erotic City, Another Lonely Christmas, and on and on and on. Since Prince, nothing has really touched me (and Ren, did you get that flash drive?). Ren, you are saving people's lives - they are lost, and they are really trying. Thank you. :)
I grew up on Prince. He was the only artist I cried when he passed. The hours I spent in the 80s pouring over every Prince Album are probably uncountable. While of course I was introduced to Prince because of his popular songs it was always his songs that were never played on radio that were his best. I love music and appreciate most forms of music but the last 20 years music has lost its soul, it’s empty and hallow. REN’s music is different, it really does take me back to a time when artists were unique and super talented musicians. THIS is music, it’s what music should be. It’s beautiful, tragic, it breaths fire, but it calms the soul… There just aren’t many musicians today who can capture that spirit.
Ren. I've been too scared to actually say it until now but your music quite literally saved my life. I don't know what would have happened if I didn't hear your words/the message that day. I love the way your music makes me feel. Thank you. ❤
I am playing this video. Vocal part starts and suddenly my 3.5 years old stop painting, turns and says loudly "Ren !! Mom , Ren ! " 😂❤ I love that she recognizes my fav artists.
So I’m gonna be 60 in a couple of months, my music tastes are eclectic. I have never followed ANYONE with such hunger to hear every little note that you make. I get caught up in your lyrics, I sob, then smile like a bloody maniac. Man I fucking love you. Surrey, UK
It's the nostalgia hitting you. While it's all new and amazing (minus the covers), he takes us back to the time of storyteller's, folk and early rock. Let alone the fact that it's been decades since we've had an artist who didn't need all the production and auto-tune to sound great. Then throw in the fact that he's just so down to earth open, brutally honest, intelligent, approachable and you have a recipe for that rare gravity that resides in so few humans these days. That gravity has been pulling me in from day one. There was no denying it or turning away. I think weve all been lost for a while Ren. Thanks for helping us find our way. 💛🤘🤙✌️
@@rexrogers1859 I've been blessed all my life with music from seeing Bowie live and all the greats including live aid with Queen. Loads of festivals with Radio head, chilli peppers. But Ren is something else ❤️
73 yr old Gma here… I’ve been listening to this all afternoon… just can’t get enough of REN. Grew up on 60s/70s music - when it was actually music.. Ren is the only current music talent I’ve listened to for years. I watch vids of old stuff.. but any new artists (IMO) for the most part are ‘rinse and repeat’ - all the same. Ren couldn’t be more opposite from all of them; you never know what you’re gonna get with him.. it’s incredibly refreshing! Thank-you Ren… couldn’t love you more!
Ok, I totally understand where you all are coming from. But what your opinion shows is just that you have not listened to enough music. Radio is NOT a way to find talent 99.9%of the time. There's been a lot of very innovative, incredibly talented and unique bands in the last 20 years, but it's no guarantee that you personally will like them. For example, Igorrr is absolute madman and incredible songwriter - as long as you can stomach the idea of combining ANY genre with ANY other genre about 20 times per song. Or Meshuggah completely reinvented metal, which now has been aped to death. Or the incredible compositions of Tool, or the absolutely mind-blowing melodies of ISIS from their last album. My list is very metal oriented because I listen more metal than anything else. But saying that there is nothing new or great is just a sign of not looking for anything good hard enough. Totally understandable. Who wants to sift through crap for days and weeks on end to find one decent artist, and once a year finding someone great? But that is the reality. There's so much music that finding the good stuff takes real effort, and people just don't want to bother. That said, I'm glad that you all found Ren, he's definitely the best I've heard in the pop music sphere so far.
There's this artist called NF who has some extremely relatable music. He had a huge following, but isn't spoken of by the mainstream. He got me into newer music. I first heard of him back in 2018. Him and Ren give me similar feelings.
One of my favourite things about you Ren is (as other folks have said) we never know what genre the next song will be. You don't define yourself to one genre and whether it's rap, EDM, folk, pop, rock, reggae or acapella... I'm here to listen to you and am enjoying being there to share your journey!
Most artists spend months, sometimes years in studios surrounded by experts who effectively tear up their original songs and commercialise them to the point they are no longer original. Thank you Ren for not giving in to a big label. I don’t think there is another artist on this planet as talented you. It’s no longer music. It pure art
REN! Your music is the only music I get really excited to hear even if its a cover I don't care. You in my opinion are one of the greatest musicians I've ever come across and can never wait for the next ear worm you will inevitably get stuck in my head! Keep doing what you're doing the world needs it... I need ita
The whole atmosphere, the whole vibe, the lush guitars and a heartfelt delivery with those beautiful highs at the end. Gorgeous. Instantly replayable a thousand times. If anybody is curious about the "Fred Again..." songs he "mashed up" there they are as follows: - Jungle - Delilah (pull me out of this) - leavemealone - Clara (the night is dark) - Angie (i’ve been lost)
thank you for throwing light on the mash up...wow...gives it more kudos. xx *so not tom jones, david bowie or michael jackson...just kidding...but I do love MJs 'leave me alone'.
Lost alone in a big city, still getting treatment and fortunately still producing mesmerizing music. I admire you for the resilience you have developed in all this years. You are an immortal legend.
Ren not monetizing this tells you exactly who Ren is. He comes out with a song that legit is in the class of For Joe, Chalk Outlines and How To Be Me. Gets us renegades who never heard of Fred Again to want to check him out and the same for his fans who never heard of Ren. All for just his love of music and that artist in particular. There are many things that make Ren one of one but this is up there as to why.
I believe a mashup is using other songs as part of a mixed track. In this case 4 or 5 ones of Fred Again. If Fred Again would be part of this it would get another name@@DJdeliverance
One of One. Finally. That's what it is. I have tried to make lists. Socrates, Mozart, Picasso, Ren. Elvis, Dylan, Hendrix, Ren. Valid lists, I think, but your take is the reality. Here is the entire list. REN.
Mate I, I never comment but I really, I just wanted you to know... I've lost my father recently and I'm not very proficient at grief but, this song just, the katharsis it gave me, it helped just let the tears flow out. Thank you.
So sorry for your loss. Open yourself up to it. We can teach ourselves that which we were never taught. I was same, nature healed me. Also just self care yourself back slowly with nourishing your body. I’m an eastern practitioner. Magnesium and sea salt baths are very healing. Herbal help when sad: St. John’s wort, hawthorn (don’t take hawthorn if on 🧡 meds already, linden tincture or tea, rose tincture or tea, milky oats seed (tincture). Also try to let yourself truly feel it. It’s so freeing. On bad days try to implement some laughter with friends or even just gratitude where you see it - laughter or films or friends or comedy. It’ll help balance the grief out in the lung area which is where grief is held. If it’s really bad some days, get a lot of sunlight & juice 12 oranges (the hold the light) Other really rejuvenating herbs if it’s REALLY bad: astragalus, ginseng which will also help with energy. I wish you a lot of love and healing & found your comment touching. I feel a lot of people can’t even say that part out loud but you did.
57 yr old Aussie rocker hear who since the 90's had lost interest in music , thinking that even then music was just repeating what went down in the 60's & 70's . Then , to my amazement,I hear this young guy putting out true inspirational tunes that struck such a deep chord , I was blown away . Ren you have given me hope for the human race and music . Keep going brother, you have what very few have , intelligence , a great ability to put life into words and great musical ability.
Totally agree with you, he's the new gold standard for musicians in my book! He's got the "it" factor in spades, and he reminds me of no one, which is super rare! If I was forced into making a comparison, it would be Paul McCartney in his younger years when anything he touched was pure gold! The way music pours out of Ren's body is amazing, when I heard & saw him and The Big Push play Sympathy For The Devil, I was just blown away. I've never heard a band ever, beat up a Rolling Stones song, but Ren just destroyed that song, I was left speechless! I live on a lake, and have been blaring Ren for 3 years, I can't tell you how many people have stopped and asked who it was! Yet, I've yet to hear him on the radio, just goes to show how screwed up the world really is. A big thanks to Yahoo for playing his tunes, I hope he takes over the world!
But lets face it, A LOT of amazing music came out of those eras. When I look back and think about the early 90s and the "Grunge movement" - it may have been short, but MY GOD so much incredible music came out of the very late 80s and early 90s. I listen to albums like Ten by Pearl Jam or Dirt by AIC or BloodSugarSexMagic by RHCP. I don't like anything else they've ever done, but that was a great album. Start to finish. Not too many albums can you listen to start to finish and every track is great. Of course Sean Parker/napster + slow internet speeds changed the game by changing the focus from albums to singles. And after years of trying to kill off the p2p platforms, someone had the idea to change the game to streaming over ownership and it stuck to this day. So I understand why artists post Napster stopped trying so hard to make great albums and only worried about great singles. But its a shame, because great albums are such a thing of rare beauty these days. And most of them are from the 90s or earlier.
I'm crying. I'm 70. Best music since I sat on stage during Bob Marley's performance in Montego Bay 1979. I'm stunned. The video work - All of this is gold. What a discovery I made about a month ago - this man is the new world stage. "I've been really trying...." sobbing. A masterpiece.
Also, check out Ren with The Big Push if you haven't already. Just to see people play for joy. It doesn't seem like a thing anymore. They play because they want to, and it shows. You will ❤ them.
@@Kel0027 with the Big Push, I think this was the first time I ever saw Ren Was blown away…. And then he kept showing up….and my admiration went deeper every time… want to just sit and watch him up close….melt into his instrument, and his guitar.
Ren the 21st century Freddie Mercury. Yes I can say that as I was around and a massive fan of Queen. I was born in 1973 & Ren and the Big Push brought the UK back with awesome music.
I'm 41. Been lost most of my life. This hit home hard. Brilliant. Just Brilliant. Brought me to tears. Won't lie it felt nice to cry and hear a song that makes me feel not so alone. ❤
Well said, don't know if you've listened to the original by Fred Again..if you haven't check his music out. I discovered Fred Again shortly after being a Ren fan & was so happy to see Ren paying tribute to a fellow artist & realized he is a fan of Fred Again...like this fan of his😊
This man has changed my life for the better there have been thoughts and feelings that I have never been able to express until I heard his lyrics. Depression is a song that resonates with me daily
We are all in the presence of greatness, just take a moment to appreciate the fact we all exist at the same time as Ren, he's an absolute phenomenon, i feel blessed i get to listen to him. ❤
We all love you, @Ren. We are all sending healing thoughts and vibes. And we will all still be here waiting when you are better. Rest up and get your ass back to feeling like the God you are. ❤❤❤

As a woman in her 50's I can say with total honesty I have never logged in waiting for an artist to release a new offering. Total fan-gurl and just love your music, passion and energy. from Pittsburgh PA, USA with love Ren!
Same , I'm 53 and fallen in love with music, I loved it in the 80s but for the last two decades I didn't really like much until a year ago when I discovered Ren
I'm 57 and have never heard a voice that contains so much despair, agony and torment. Ren, you have turned all of your anguish into deep euphonious music. Thank you from an old girl that admires what you are doing, may it continue for a very long time.
"I've been lost for a while. But I've been really trying." Sounds so simple, but if you have suffered from chronic fatigue or other chronic illnesses involving fatigue, that sums it up pretty perfectly.
@@mikemedrano8579 My heart goes out to you. I was finally diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, but for thirty years I had no idea what was wrong. People just thought I was lazy or crazy. I wanted to thank you for what you do for people. I have considered suicide more then 1000 times, but your music helps me to get through days, it makes me feel like im not alone.
The Genius mind of Ren! Huge fan of Fred Again. The re-arrangement, vocals, your playing and emotion to make it your own. Big respect and in awe how you've done this.

for anyone that may read this and hopefully Ren has helped start your Fred journey. Have to check out not only Tiny Desk but Studio Live, Actual Life and Boiler Room sets. Thanks again Ren
As a 36 yr old guy i want to say thank you Ren! You are the only guy that makes me feel like a little boy again! For real, i can not explain how much joy i felt when i saw a premiere is coming from you. I am German and i literally tell everyone about you and your music. I can not imagine what else will come from you in future. But i think that you really could be one of the reeeaaaalllly big artists that people will talk about in decades! If you improve the way you did before.... i am beyond thrilled to follow your journey!
It's gotten really fucking difficult to not want to off my self as of recent but this man has validated my near entire existence just by sharing his bare soul with us all. If you're human. Call someone and tell them wtf they mean to you. Hug someone. Be. There. For. Someone. You never know if your conversation came as a saving grace to somebody losing their balance off that cliff.
62-year-old here... SIL introduced me to the joys of both Ren and Fred again. As someone else on here said, it's been great to discover that there IS still original, exciting music being made. You just need to discover it. Thanks, Ren.
Hauntingly beautiful. Thank you! LOVE THE NEON SIGN! I'm sure MANY of us would purchase one to help support you and your work - if you wouldn't mind sharing 🙋♀️💝🔥

I watched this when it originally dropped. Then a couple more times. Left it for a couple days. Saw the BTS on patreon. Watched the Fred Again's videos of each song and then a video using Fred Again's songs, matching Ren's mash-up. And now back to Ren. This cuts deep. It's hard to actually listen to it as it causes my emotions to scatter, very hard to contain them. Every pluck of the string, tap on the guitar, tremble in the voice, grimace on the face and oh God, the looking out the window as if to compose himself. So raw!
Ren that last minute I can’t not cry. Keep trying brother. I feel this last lyrics in the depth of my soul. You turned dance music into a broken persons anthem
Cheers for that Mr Ren 👊👊👊 smashed it yet again!! I totally was not expecting that 😳 and that guitar work yet again 👌 Thursdays are now forever changed for the better! Can't wait for the next banger!! Stay safe Ren and get better I & we need some face to face live Ren as soon as your able 😅👌👊

Ever since I discovered you after falling down the usual internet rabbit hole, I feel...different. I can't explain it. It's a chaotic shake up of words when I try. You draw me in to an emotional firestorm, and it's just as energizing as it is mesmerizing. You take me places that I never thought I could revisit. But once arrived, I feel safe, understood, and warmly embraced. I feel calm. I feel connected. Thank you, Ren. From the bottom of my sucker punched heart. You will never be forgotten. ♥️
There is nothing Ren can't do. I'm in awe every single song, no matter how many times I've listened to it. Ren, you're saving lives. I hope you know that. We've all been lost, but at least you've built a community where we can be lost together. Lost doesn't have to equal alone anymore. YOU did that.
This is just so beautiful and my MH has been crap. This hits different ❤ Since hearing violets tale a few times, it's unlocked memories from trauma, that I had buried. I deeply thank you @Renmakesmusic, so many memories I'd buried and explained with logic. Now I feel like my emotions have connected back to them. I'm now processing it the way I should have I honestly, don't think I will ever have the words to thank you Ren. Thinking about you a lot lately, travel safe back to Cananda and we are willing for this treatment to work ❤ peace and blessings. Debs, Bristol x
You have no idea how many times I have now watched this... I spent around 18 months obsessed with Fred again before you dropped Hi-Ren and I have been obsessed with you since that moment. This was like a day dream in my own mind coming true... Thank you Ren. It is amazing to hear you acoustic with such powerful lyrics by another artist. This is my favourite live performance for a while ❤❤❤
Of course Ren puts out a track that can make you happy & break your heart at the same time. I couldn’t imagine this mashup being any better than it turned out. Brilliant ♥️
The guitar.....I'm not a string specialist but I've had ears for a while now. The classical dramatic chords on guitar and even the keys are always so perfectly used. A true showman!
I had some few songs in the past 15 years that i really liked. Before that, ive been listening 2 to 3 hrs a day. But i never thought i would ever get so deeply involved with a musician again. Its like he smashed in the barrier in my head to let the feelings flow again. In fact this is the first time I consider myself a real fan. I adored alot of music in my life but in this case its kind of a personal connection. Almost every song is touching me so deeply, i don't have words for it. I can't compare it to anything ive ever heard or seen. His gentle and humble soul shines through almost every song, his versatility and talent is mindblowing as well as the cinematography of the videos. This gave me the drive to search for more great new musicians and I've found a few. Theres still real art out there if you dig deep enough. Anyways they all can't really keep up with Ren. But im passionate about music again and thats the greatest gift i got since i found him two years ago. Thanks Ren!
Tell me why I'm sat here crying my eyes out because the sheer, raw emotion in the vocal runs you do 😭 your voice leaves several knots in my throat every time 💛💛
U saved my life. I realized i was being poisoned for 13 years. I stopped the med and awakened from the coma. Where the fvck have I been? Life & health are devastated. It's very fresh & raw. The fact that I can even write this is remarkable. I had lost my God. The brutal devastation Biggie Farm and dozens of quacks caused me is unfathomable. I'm so angry. But I know I will find healthy outlets for that. Another mind-boggling concept! But i have never been more hopeful for healing. It's a rebirth. I see you, I feel you and I thank you.💜💜💜
I don't care who or what he is singing, I'm fine with him humming his grocery list. Just want to hear his beautiful voice. 😇

Man... so im here now, 43, and saw this guy, Hi Ren being used on one of those first time reaction videos, i scrolled a little more and there he was again.
I totally agree
Thank you. :)
Wow! Great words.
What a compliment. 🫡
Wow on ya 2:04😮
@@crystalcaffrey9788 Exactly. I'm older, but songs like 17 Days saved me several times....

Ren. I've been too scared to actually say it until now but your music quite literally saved my life. I don't know what would have happened if I didn't hear your words/the message that day. I love the way your music makes me feel. Thank you. ❤

Best Comment Ever . Thanks
So I’m gonna be 60 in a couple of months, my music tastes are eclectic. I have never followed ANYONE with such hunger to hear every little note that you make. I get caught up in your lyrics, I sob, then smile like a bloody maniac. Man I fucking love you. Surrey, UK
He sure seems to have a fair number of fans like us - 60 and over - he is amazing and has a quality that is hard to define - I just love him too ❤😊
I'm 60 this year and I thought I'd seen it all till Ren came along. From Bob marley, Bowie and all the greats. Ren blows me away ❤❤❤
Wonderful comment 😊
"I've been lost for a while, but im really trying." Is so relatable for me. 😢

I always listen to a new Ren song with my grandma first. She loves him.
100% I’m a new grandma and I feel his music on a deep level. It’s crazy!!
As nothing on Ben Howard
There's this artist called NF who has some extremely relatable music. He had a huge following, but isn't spoken of by the mainstream. He got me into newer music. I first heard of him back in 2018. Him and Ren give me similar feelings.
"I've been lost for a while, but Im really trying." I feel this in my soul.
One of my favourite things about you Ren is (as other folks have said) we never know what genre the next song will be. You don't define yourself to one genre and whether it's rap, EDM, folk, pop, rock, reggae or acapella... I'm here to listen to you and am enjoying being there to share your journey!
Getting stuck into one genre is VERY limiting thing.
We need a button for “Fucking brilliant”.
“Like” just isn’t sufficient no matter how many times I press it
100%
Also a 1000% button 🎉
I will, however, press like it every time.
I want a button that says "Timeless Masterpiece".
They need a 🙌 button...which I think says it: Aw aye, this 🙌
Just try to press a pair number of times 😂
Most artists spend months, sometimes years in studios surrounded by experts who effectively tear up their original songs and commercialise them to the point they are no longer original. Thank you Ren for not giving in to a big label.
I don’t think there is another artist on this planet as talented you.
It’s no longer music. It pure art
Art 🎨, perfectly captures Ren
Yeah there is and his name is NF
If anybody is curious about the "Fred Again..." songs he "mashed up" there they are as follows:
- Jungle
- Delilah (pull me out of this)
- leavemealone
- Clara (the night is dark)
- Angie (i’ve been lost)
Yes.. I can't stop play it over and over ..and over again now.. 😬😂
Thanks for the info, love you

Thanks for sharing, I wasn’t sure what I was missing. ❤
thank you for throwing light on the mash up...wow...gives it more kudos. xx *so not tom jones, david bowie or michael jackson...just kidding...but I do love MJs 'leave me alone'.
Lost alone in a big city, still getting treatment and fortunately still producing mesmerizing music. I admire you for the resilience you have developed in all this years. You are an immortal legend.
The reverb or whatever that is in the end, where his voice seems to just hang out in space. Glad I’m in that space.
Ditto ❣️❤️🔥🥹
I'm confused where's Fred again on this track I only seen him play at the boiler room once IDK maybe I'm thinking of another guy? Lol
I believe a mashup is using other songs as part of a mixed track. In this case 4 or 5 ones of Fred Again. If Fred Again would be part of this it would get another name@@DJdeliverance
That is well said. Ren is special above and beyond.
One of One. Finally. That's what it is.
I have tried to make lists.
Socrates, Mozart, Picasso, Ren.
Elvis, Dylan, Hendrix, Ren.
Valid lists, I think, but your take is the reality.

If it’s really bad some days, get a lot of sunlight & juice 12 oranges (the hold the light)
Other really rejuvenating herbs if it’s REALLY bad: astragalus, ginseng which will also help with energy. I wish you a lot of love and healing & found your comment touching. I feel a lot of people can’t even say that part out loud but you did.
So sorry for your loss, hope you can find some comfort here.
LOL I'm 49 this year and 90% of what I listen to is from the 70s and 90s :)

So raw!

4 stage clinger activated. Let's gooOooOo baby 🔥
Two months later still can't get enough of this performance.
3 months later, still sticking it on repeat! :)
Thanks Ren!
Tell me why I'm sat here crying my eyes out because the sheer, raw emotion in the vocal runs you do 😭 your voice leaves several knots in my throat every time 💛💛
When you've given an old man reason to start listening to the lyrics again. You are intelligent and you have a wonderful voice,
Ren gives me hope for the future of music.
The "I've been lost" part REALLY found my soul ❤
U saved my life. I realized i was being poisoned for 13 years. I stopped the med and awakened from the coma. Where the fvck have I been? Life & health are devastated. It's very fresh & raw. The fact that I can even write this is remarkable. I had lost my God. The brutal devastation Biggie Farm and dozens of quacks caused me is unfathomable. I'm so angry. But I know I will find healthy outlets for that. Another mind-boggling concept! But i have never been more hopeful for healing. It's a rebirth. I see you, I feel you and I thank you.💜💜💜
I love Fred Again perfect mix.. Ren is amazing but you guys already know that.. Peace & Love ✌️
Speechless; what can I say? "Thank you" 🙏💜
Wow. Jeez. With what I know of Fred Again I didn’t expect to have my heart ripped out and torn into a thousand bits. ❤️❤️❤️. Loved it, Ren!!
Five days later and I've listened to this song so many times, I feel like it's always been a part of my life. This is so good.
I swear Ren can sing any style of music and it will always be great.
