I was stationed in South Korea for 18 months in the 1980s. We used to give our rations to kids. We'd go to the nearby village and get some ramen or bulgogi. Sometimes, an old mamason with a big backpack full of stuff would sell you a moonpie and a coke for $1. I wonder what it is like there now.....
Think the ends of the paper tray are meant to fold down to keep it from popping back inwards. Looks like there's a perforated line that you can fold over to keep it straight
It looks like the Koreans made good usability tests - it is perfect simple ! You don't have even a rock or something or put the meal into a sleeve. And the dish looks delicious. Thanks for an interesting review !
I do like these sorts of rations. quick to prep, tasty and easy to eat. Plus a lot of them have amazing flavors that you wouldn't get to try normally. Great review mate and thanks Dub C for sending it.
Hi Gundog. I got some FRH from Korea, to use in my flameless cooking pan. Can't wait to see how they work. Dub finds some great items. That looks delicious, I would have to skip the sauce. Good idea melting the chocolate and using it as frosting. Great review Gundog!
Being from south louisiana where we eat as much rice as the asian culture I really appreciate the rices out the asian meals. They really do it right far superior to our US MREs.. But your right most of the Asian mre heaters are way better to heat the meals and water for coffee.
We used to give our MREs to the street kids, then we'd go eat Korean street food. Shrimp and veggies fried, usually for a few dollars. Used to drive the "food safety" medical guys insane. "DONT EAT KOREAN FOOD!!!IT WILL MAKE YOUR PENIS FALL OFF!!" LOL 😆 22 years in uniform (retired AF) the only time I got food poisoning was from the Osan Dining Facility.
I don't understand why every other country's heater works great except the US. I guess our heater scientists aren't all that great. Or perhaps instead of getting stuff from the lowest bidder, maybe pay more for something that works. Anyhow, good looking meal.
Certainly convenient for civilian use, but I am skeptical about a military application. You are just carrying water around with you that is good for nothing else but heating that thing. The whole point of military rations is to get the weight down and dehydrate stuff to hopefully use water you get at the destination to re-hydrate and heat stuff. Sure, soldiers might have to use their canteen water, so they use water they carried around with them too, but this just doesn't give you a choice. At that point you could just as well carry around regular food right out of the pot, in a sealed can or bag and a esbit cooker.

Eating Ramen right now! HAHA! We did the same in Germany. Gave our stuff away for fresh Brochen sandwiches from small little towns.

the ingenuity of servicemen in the field with their rations never ceases to amaze me 👍
Thank you, brother. You have me drooling here.
Great civilian ration, most of the Asian rations are very tasty, cheers
진상도형이 보냈다고?!

Me either. I mean we can spend 2 billion on a stealth bomber but a decent FRH is beyond our grasp...
Hope u make more videos

It's the same heater that used in ROK Rations. I get your point for actual application though
That's the best heater I've ever seen! Despite the food looking aweful the package and system is great
Cool, man.
Nice!
Tea? Hmmm…looked more like bourbon and water to me
You call this the Best Ration Heater?! My man Kim🇰🇵 heats MREs with Uranium for his soldiers.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
:)
