The title is misleading and should be called: *What Is the Role of an Endocrinologist and Diabetes?*

    My fiance is an endocrinologist.
This is NOT all they do. The endocrine system is vast and complex, spanning many un-connected organs. Unlike the digestive tract, the endocrine system is unteathered to itself and ranges from studies that include Alzheimer's and dementia (known as Type 3 Diabetes), to cancer. From HRT for you more liberal-leaning folk to Sports Medicine for athletes for faster recovery times and better gains. From complex diseases to literally being a referral for other physicians who need a bit of additional insight into, say, kidney abnormalities.
And even being a dietitian. You can literally make a career just telling people what to eat.
Endocrinology is MASSIVE, and this video does a huge disservice in that it doesn't address the CORE of the field of study.
An endocrinologist doesn't study the endocrine system, per se.
They study hormones and the chemical composure of your very body.
How are YOU, **chemically**, doing? And what can be corrected or improved?

We have one endocrinologist in the whole of South West Cornwall. The last one at the Hospital I had been seeing one just left the job with no apparent person moving into post. OH NO SURPRISE - i Have primary Addisons and diabetes - along with everything else being diseased. It is so frustrating and i do not have the money to go private. utter nightmare.

It seems like doctors never want to tell you about natural ways to help yourself. Like how lemon, apple cider vinegar, baking soda, water and so on are good for you and help cleanse you and fight different things. So much is a secret that you really need to research it on your own as if we are studying for a PhD

If doctors tell people how to take care of themselves naturally will those people listen? Most people refuse to diet and exercise even if it will help their medical conditions and improve their life.

@@jenno5555 That's true; most people know the importance of exercising and healthy dieting, but forgo it

Their role? To give you a pill that they either raise or lower every three to six months & continuously do that for the next five or so years. They're always thinking inside the bread box & do little else. This is known as the endocrinology merry go round. Meanwhile, you just very well may continue to suffer.

Julie Witt Well there are patients who always wants the quick way out of things. They will neither change their bad lifestyle habits nor diet, so the doctors are left with no choice but to push pill. I have family members that are in the same category!
