Congratulations for the video. It is the first video of about 100 I saw today that showed me that the new Jeep Grand Cherokee is worth offroad. In addition to traveling comfort, I am happy to know that if I were to use it in off-road in the future, it could look good. Thanks Roberto
I’ve had 5 Grand Cherokees , lastly switched from the Highlander to the Trailhawk, added BFGoodrich All Terrain Tires , Magnaflo Exhaust System , she’s a Beauty! Handled over 2 foot of snow in the Sierra’s and good river rock crawling and desert driving. Always loved the Jeep’s, the Trailhawk lives up to it’s name and then some for a stock vehicle!
Aaron Young I have a 2016 JGC Overland Trail Rated; bought it special order in the States and shipped it to Greece, where I do serious, though not "extreme" off-roading there and in northern Italy; and never had ANY problems! A week ago I again special ordered a 2020 Trailhawk for me to keep in the States (Atlanta, Georgia) and should have it by mid-July 2020. I spend April-October in Europe, and November- April here in the States. Prior to these vehicles I owned Wranglers (terrific but as I age a bit too jarring on my back bone), Pajeros/Monteros (I drove them in Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, China), Nissan X-Terras and can tell you nothing comes close to how the latest iterations of JGC's perform! Concerns about reliability issues are so five, six years old! BTW, were your concerns assuaged? did you end up buying one? I'd love to hear your experience. Cheers.
Well Roothy, forget the wowsers mate. Ive got a CRD Grand, with a 3" lift and have flogged it around Land cruiser Park and many other places. As you said, capable, comfortable, powerful and a 3.5 T tow. In the last 100,000 K's its cost me the odd service here and there couple sets of tyres. No more than you would expect. Out of all the Tojo's and Nissans I've had , this is certainly the most reliable and an excellent package for the price. Good video mate, the trail hawk goes all right on road tyres, odd bit of air here and there. :-)
It’s equipped with limited slip front and rear end axles instead of open end which gives you the best of both worlds. Making it street worthy and off road worthy by being able to lock the differential automatically when needed
The front "limited slip" is just fancy traction control (that works really well). The rear axle is true electronic limited slip that will eventually lock.
ya, Range Rovers are the ones constantly in the garage. Jeep has by far the best 4X4 traction control and now adays are solid and reliable. MY brand new loaded Trailhawk with the 5.7 Hemi absolutely rules. I was going to buy a Range Rover, but they are always in the garage. The Trackhawk smokes the Turbo Cayane and costs 80k less. The new GC's are awesome stuff and top of class. And no one has ever come close to Jeeps' 4X4 traction control. Naturally, cars that you rock hop with are going to need more maintenance than a Camry just driven on the road. Even the older Jeeps were top notch. The old ones used during the wars. top notch all around. You can drive a Camry if you want absolute reliability, but they look cheesy, are gutless, drive cheesy and are the most purchased car on the planet. Lame, lame. Jeeps have class and look tough
Thanks for the great summary of the off road maxi of the Trailhawk! I own one too with the 5.7 liter and love it! Have all the packages the company offers and decided on if over others because it does it all and more and is reasonably priced to boot!
It's finally great to see some one review the Jeep Grand Cherokee properly. I use to be a Ford man and bought the Turbo diesel Jeep Grand Cherokee and love it and have never looked back and will only ever replace her with another one.
It's one thing to slag the Grand Cherokee, but the Jeep brand? First off, the Cherokee was deigned to be a compromise. Decent road manners while being a very capable off-roader. An adventure vehicle that's mostly driven around the city by people that never take it off-road. It's not a rock crawler. For that you will need a Wrangler. And the Wrangler my friends, shits on everything......unstoppable. You can talk crap about Jeep being unreliable, but there are a hell of a lot of 30 year old examples still on the roads and trails today. Maybe not Toyota reliability, but far better than Land Rover.
Unfortunately most the people leaving comments here have never owned or driven a Grand Cherokee, if they had they would not embarrass themselves with uninformed crap.
I have owned three GCs, the newest a week old 2020 TrailHawk! My first one went 280k when I traded it on the next one. That GC went 180k before I got the itch for a “Hawk”. In my experience and that of friends, Jeeps are some of the most reliable 4xs made. If you spend your life listening to people on RUclips and believing what you read in magazines, you will miss a lot of good things in life!!
@@paulrap Good day)) I am from Russia and the reliability and endurance of SUVs are appreciated here !! Now I have Mitsubishi Pajero 4 (probably not in your country), a very reliable SUV for our operating conditions, for three years I traveled 150 thousand km without problems and the next one will be only Grand Cherokee but in Russia it is not in demand and very rare))
Good on you Roothy, yet another good review. I can hardly wait to get myself either a Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, Summit or a Trailhawk Eco-Diesel V6. I have been anti Diesel for years and pro V8 Petrol, but the more I watch video reviews I am being converted. I suppose that if one maintains the vehicle well, it should perform well as well as being economical to run. Roothy are you going to do a in depth review of the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk or some other Grand Cherokee eco- Diesel?
The guy they brough over from the US (Marcioni I think his name was) credited for turning the fortunes in the U.S. died after complications. They have a new replacement but if he doesn't turn things around for Australia Jeep will be finished in this country. Which is a sad thing because it will mean the death of the mecano set Wrangler. We will be stuck with Iveco Daily, Landcruiser, Hilux, Nissan Patrols all plain Jane school run suv's. Unaffordable for the everyday person which will put offroading out of limits to most people.
@@MrXerxes There is around 80% customer satisfaction but some dealers in Australia just don't care about their customers and there are some shoddy parts in some of the Jeeps here. All in all pretty good. Even Toyota is starting to struggle on some of their vehicles. The interest these days is turning to electric adventure for the up market folks so it will filter down over the next ten years as emmisions becomes more expensive.
@@MrXerxes He doesn't have the reputation that Marcioni did. Jeep in Australia is kind of floundering in reputation. At least parts are readily available and easy to replace if you know what you are doing.
My family talked me out of a jeep as my 1st vehicle. Saying they would be in the shop all the time. Get a Honda they said. Have had 2 hondas so far. Both have been in the shop more than I can count. Should have went with the jeep.
Nice video as usual Ritthy, but each to their own ;) . Good to see jeep have finally caught up with land Rover :) Better late than never i spose :) Cheers for sharing cobber .
Had one of these on a 4x4 club day trip and yep they are more capable than you would think by just looking at them. Pity Jeep has such a bad reputation for cheep quality build and poor reliability because going back to the 80's and older and they where a good thing CJ 7 and 8's come to mind.
My Grand Cherokee WJ will soon turn 20 yrs and I haven't had much problems apart from new break line and a lil rust (cause by 6 months winters and salty roads here in Norway). I never gonna get rid of it. I need a capable, roomy 4wd -- esp every day during the cold and icy season, and since soon 50% of new vehicles here are electric, no new vehicle can give me that. The only alternative is a Tesla X, but damn, then you need to settle for 6 months back log on parts and service (which you cannot do yourself anyways).
Hope you get miles of trouble free use out it! These Jeeps do have some of the best traction control systems out there. Along with a great interior, ride quality, and power. Enjoy!
I guess I’m lucky cause my three jeeps are still rolling. 04’ wrangler, 11’ compass and 12’ GC. I’ve changed out some thermostats, sensors and routine maintenance but i usually do everything myself and parts are cheap. I live in 100 degree south texas heat by south padre and so far so good. Also, I did give away my old 1998 GC to my uncle cause i just didn’t know what to do with it 😂. Such a great vehicle.
I don’t know Roothy, feels like you’re cheating on Milo2. And honestly, you don’t look right in a Jeep. My 1988 Fj62 has caught me looking at an old Landrover a time or two, everytime I make up to her it costs me big dollars in new parts or equipment, lol. Enjoying your videos. Hello from Arizona, USA.
Just a..slight political observation from my small phone screen. Passenger seat view capition gives image of Fidel Castro on the run in a jeep😁. " ok I gotta stay ahead of the capitalist pigs....aside from using a capitalist vehicle which totally contradicts my economic philosophy....so far so good😁. Better than what we had!
flightman12 Toyota’s are good 🤓🤓🤓the new hilux is pretty good lmao 4 dpf valves to present my wife’s Jeep not one problem. Its bad to have tunnel vision mate
I got three jeeps since new and so far so good. 04’ wrangler, 11’ compass and 12’ GC and they are awesome. I live in deep south texas heat and I’ve only done routine maintenance. Parts are cheap and easy to install. I really like Toyota vehicles and they would be my next to get vehicles but Jeep looks bad ass especially with those V8 engines.
It’s not my cup of tits either but it would do the job for most. I’ve seen some interesting stuff on the trails, sometimes you need some comfort mixed in with off-road ability, all depends what stage in life you’re at.
but like I said you are to busy worring about my life and tons of you are watching what I do so you can have a fantastic life. so I'm gonna get drunk again tonight bcuz you make me depressed
Come on at least do a proper review. This is just a promo video, you gotta declare when it’s an ad. If it’s that good, sell Milo 2 and buy one of these.

Fiat Chrysler need to support their customers and dealers, then they’d be worth a look.

wow, from the legend himself.

Excellent!👍👍😎🇺🇸
