This is just for the Bose equipped Malibu. So with the 6x9s in the rear deck. I had a 15 in there but I wouldn’t try it again. It was a tight fit. I have a OBS Tahoe that I DD now so I loved everything into it.
You might even want to try taking out the rear 6x9's to let the 15's bass into the cabin better. I had an intrepid that wouldnt let any bass into the cabin until i took out the back speakers, then it was boomin.
I ended up tapping the rear 6x9s and had much better bass response from the change. You can vampire tap the leads and retape the harness to get it to look more professional then run the leads discreetly to your amp.
Why couldn't i find the actual speaker wires thats goin to the factory speaker, and hook up off those for high input? I can't afford a active crossover
I know this is like two years later but hopefully you’ll see this. I’m trying to put one into my car right now. I’m a little stuck. Did you have to get a new radio? And I do have a factory amp in mine but idk I’m stuck
Thanks for this video. I am getting a powered subwoofer, so besically the amp is already built in. how do I get the audio signal while doing the wiring. Thanks
@@Vanillabean315 yes, you would have to find somewhere else to get the audio signal then. either behind the head unit or if you can find a factory amp somewhere.

Don’t know if you know this but you can lift your back bottom seat to hide the wire back there I like the video though
Which are positive and which are negative on rear speaker wires
Thanks my brother I just bought me a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu and I'm definitely going to use your video to install my amp the same way👍💯

where did you get the 12v on the line out converter from?
I tried a passive converter, does not work, i tried everything, so adter watching this i assume i need a active one, thansk
dang do we need a line out converter, because i got the 2018 chevy malibu lt
Some sub amps let you just tap off the rear spekers and they have high level inputs with built in crossovers to take out the highs.
@@MultiJoeMoma what do you mean tap off the rear speakers
@@Vanillabean315 get your audio signal from the rear speakers by cutting the wires or using vampire taps.
@@MultiJoeMoma are you talking about the bose speakers sticking down through the trunk? Because I dont have the Bose system in my malibu

Why does my sub turn off for a sec after the car turns off and turns back on at a red light? I have the power wire connected where u connected it
Yo I got some questions I’m trying to add a system how can we get intouch
How many speakers does this version (bose) come with?
What’s the ohms for the factory 6x9s in the rear???
I’m not trying to hate but that subwoofer is begging for more power from a better amp
How many miles are on it?
Which wire is the remote?
Used remote wire from the line out converter to the amp.
12" or 15"?
Better bass keep that seat down
