    That puts into perspective the subs we beat on back in the late 90s and early 2000s that just had pole venting and never failed. Still think to this day manufacturing was way better back then compared to today. Subwoofer tech is way better today though

    Solid test! I have my own little go to method of seeing if the coil will hold up. I’ve been bumping “throw it up” since the day it came out- full tilt , playing the whole song on every subwoofer I’ve owned. If it can’t hang with some lil Jon- I don’t recommend it to anyone lol🤓🔊🔊🔊

Happy with both brands.. price wise, go with the golden eagle !! Couldn't believe for $150 for those eagles they still holding up!! Of course the resilient sounds look better and are just a lil bit smoother

    "music has peaks and dips" im going to have to slightly disagree on that alot of what people play nowadays is very bass heavy and is pretty much just solid sinewaves with some kicks the sub is under stress and its even worse for alot of rebassed music if a sub cant handle its wrms rated power for atleast 5min on a sinewave its as good as dead in a demo car

    • @HifiVega
      @HifiVega  4 года назад +1

      I can’t speak to what a lot of the guys are listening to now, but I will say full RMS on a sine wave for 5 min is absolutely insane. What sub do you think could do that because I’d be interested in getting one and trying it

    One thing Id like to see. Is blowing a sub without any clipping what so ever. Using the cleanest, purest signals possible. Blow subs with high end quality. The lower the THD the better. Also a video explaining all the things that can effect, damage and blow a subwoofer coil in the future would be great. Thanks for the testing vids. Keep em coming.

    I broke the NVX VCW15 awhile back I found out it was spider detachment again (2nd nvx to do that) so I decided to do an experiment and ordered a 10" 12 spoke basket and a 3" coil cone with a large roll surround from Lord of bass, that all fit so now I'm going to order a compatible 3" but flat wound coil and spiders. spider choice is the part I'm worried about. But that basket looks killer on that 200oz triple stack! Any spider choice suggestions are welcome. I have to get DATS so I can see what it is after. I ordered a 5" PSI dustcap too (kinda wrong but whatever)

    • @HifiVega
      @HifiVega  4 года назад

      Aaron Waltz I haven’t gotten big into speaker building yet so I imagine you might have more knowledge on the subject of spiders than me... I’d shoot for something strong, but not too stiff because some of the extra stiff spiders take an inordinate amount of time to break in.

    • @95Sn95
      @95Sn95 4 года назад

      @@HifiVega oh I have zero building from scratch I've watched buttloads of RUclips on it and we'll gotta just jump in an test the waters sink or swim!, sub parts on Lord of bass are surprisingly affordable. Coils are the most expensive and most are in the $40 range. The basket was only $20 the cone/surround was less than $20, double stack spider with sewn in leads is like $10..!. It'll be fun I think I'm anxious to see if it's a beast... I'm worried it will either be to be to much motor and spider will be to soft and start slapping quick or to stiff and end up inefficient with high FS... Only one way to find out guess.

    when you rebuild that take the motor off the basket and put 10 mm spacers between them . it will give the vioce coil air no matter what . then instead of putting 1 spider in it buy a 1/2 inch spider spacer and put 2 spiders in it . you will get more xmax and way better cooling .
