    As I watch these In Memoriam videos from the 60's and 70's it is striking how many of the men died from heart attacks in their 40's 50's and early 60's. Another sizeable number died from lung cancer or emphysema - a testament to how many people smoked back then.

    Charles Miller...sax player for the band "War" stabbed to death in LA and to this day nobody arrested or prosecuted...that's sad.

    I didn't know David Janssen and Peter Sellers died so young. The Pink Panther is one of my favorites .

      Curtis had epilepsy and depression and died by suicide on the eve of Joy Division's first North American tour, shortly before the release of Closer. Shortly after his death, the three surviving members of the band renamed themselves New Order.

    The day Peter Sellars died, he was going to have dinner with Spike Milligan and Harry Secombe that evening. His son also died of heart failure aged in his early fifties.

      I was going to point that out too. They're both credited on all the songs they wrote but all Beatles fans know Paul wrote that one.

      I always thought it, was about heroin. 'Jude', in German, means heroin.

      @@rogerrendzak8055 No, it was never about heroin. Paul initially called it Hey Jules (Julian's nickname) but changed it to Jude because that sounded better. It was always a song written for Julian. Besides, John was the one who did heroin, not Paul.

      The day after my bd....after I was told about it... we had the old ruters news on...there were alot of broken things in my apt ....including the phone on the wall😭😭😭😭...then 2 learn that he had targeted Paul....but John was more accessible....I would've found that pig.. insanity does weird things....I was ballistic w John's death....I still don't want the day 2 ever come when Paul is gone😭😭😭😭✌️✌️

    George Tobias had a few guest appearances on The Waltons in the early seasons. He played a collector and a peddler. Most of his scenes were with Judy Norton(Mary Ellen). Enjoyed his relaxed humor on Bewitched opposite a hyperactive Gladys Kravitz.

    I saw the Marshal Tucker Band with the full original lineup to include Tommy Caldwell. Just an amazing concert from an amazing band. I saw them again just months after Tommy Caldwell was killed in a car wreck. Painful to watch as the band was obviously still out of sorts. RIP Tommy (and Toy) Caldwell.

    My dad died in 1980, and I wouldn't have been able to recall the passing of anyone else that year if you held a gun to my head. Looking at this now, I would have been familiar with all of these people or their work.

    Bon Scott's death devestated Ozzy Osbourne to the point where he, too, wanted to kill himself by heavy drug use and whatever it took him to do so. Luckily, he got out of it long enough to write a song called "Crazy Train" and started his own hard rock band called Ozzy Osbourne and has never looked back since despite the next array of tradegies that would happen in the future. At 75, he's still alive and is not done yet.

    Larry Williams also passed in early 1980. The Beatles covered three of his songs, all sung by John Lennon. And we unfortunately all know what happened to John later that year.

    I was in the 8th grade when the news broke of John Lennon's killing. I knew who he was and how famous he was from The Beatles and his own solo music. Very tragic.

    Bon Scott passed before back in back was recorded. There's always been rumors that his notes were pilfered by the young brothers but they insisted that Bon wasn't involved in B.I.B in any way

    Just after I got cable TV Dec.1 1980 I heard about the death of 1968 Kentucky Derby champion Forward Pass. He had to wait until June 12 1972 to claim it but the United States Supreme Court gave him the title.

      Yes he did my wife has Congestive Heart Failure. They took Steve to
      Mexico for a special operation and that made things that much worse. A doctor told Steve he could cure cancer didn't quite work out guy was a quack. The doctor was an American doctor from what I understand. Take care.

      His heart failed due to radical surgery to remove cancerous tumors . Mesothelioma was the cancer and it's caused by asbestos exposure.

    Before he died Colonel Sanders said KFC quality had gone down. He is right. The chicken is not as spicy as it was and neither is the now watery gravy.
