Cheryl Holdridge was so absolutely gorgeous. I can't understand why she didn't have a bigger career in TV and movies. Such a fetching smile and a good ability in acting.
Edward Woodward gave an gritty, outstanding performance in "Breaker Morant", which should have won an Oscar! Best ever film from Australia, hands down!!
For those that don't know already, the quote during the showing of Ted Kennedy was part of his eulogy that he gave during his brother Bobby's funeral. Also, thank you again for these videos. They keep bringing back lots of memories.
Not a good year for me. Lost my mom on June 19 and then my fur baby of 17 years on Aug 10. this is something that will never fully heal, but something I have to live with.
Considering Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson died on the same day, this one tabloid magazine I read in early June 2009 is harsher in hindsight. There was an article about how Farrah was dying of cancer, and near the end of the magazine, there was a "Fashion Blunders" segment, which included a picture Michael Jackson and his questionable outfit at the time (all I remember is it included a covid-like mask, and this was long before covid was a thing). Also, there was a promotional about "Time Remembers the 1970s", to be released in July, which included 1970's photos of both Farrah and Michael on the cover.
I member the day when Farrah and Michael died. I saw the news that morning saying that Farrah died. After that I went out shopping with my mom. Next thing I know I was having dinner with my dad and he said that Michael Jackson died. I was in shock! So sad.
I was lucky enough to see Peter, Paul and Mary in concert in Warwick, RI many years ago. Her voice was so powerful that she had to tone it down in order to harmony with Peter and Paul. Also, during the concert, she showed poster sized pictures of her grandkids.
Farrah Fawcett did a Noxema Shave cream spot with Joe Namath in the early 1970's. Exotic beauty, and yeah, I had the poster in my barracks when in the U.S. Air Force.
Her death was overshadowed by Michael Jackson's death because both died on the same day. Moreover, Jackson's death was unexpected while we knew Fawcett was suffering terminal cancer. RIP to both. 😭😭😭
Harry Patch, a veteran of WW1 lived to 111. Incredible. Henry Gibson played a neo Nazi in the movie, the Blues Brother, and tried to get revenge on them, but ends up getting driven off a bridge, lol.
I am so glad I revisited this list from 2009. First of all, Well done!. We lost a LOT of talent and notoriety this year. Thank you for including Millvina Dean. I had forgotten. Eunice Kennedy and her brother Ted died 2 weeks apart!, Nice to know if I'm ever on a game show! And Respect to Walter Cronkite, probably one of the last truly respected journalists in American history.
I am a great admirer of Gene Barry, who inspired me as magazine publisher Glenn Howard in the landmark TV drama The Name of the Game (1968-71) when I was 8 years old.
You need to include Dave Diles on this list. For 32 years TV voice of me beloved Detroit Tigers and did a lot of bowling and gymnastics! (He broke the news of John Lennon's senseless assassaination even telling me DIRECTLY he NOT HOWARD COSELL broke Lennon's death! Then I heard WOR's Steve Zabriskie confirm it!)
Ricardo Montebon last two acting credits were in Seth McFarland shows Family Guy were he voiced a cow and American Dad were he was a general of small country that died chocking on a corndog 😕
James Whitmore had 3 guest roles on Gunsmoke. 4 on The Big Valley. 4 on The Virginian. 5 on Zane Grey. 2 on Rawhide and 1 on Bonanza which that was a real gruesome episode where he seeks revenge against Ben Cartwright and Candy for doing prison time and leaves the 2 of them in deep hole in a cave episode "To Die in Darkness." Karl Malden was best known as Lt. Stone on The Streets of San Francisco as tough by the book cop. Cheryl Holdridge had a recurring role as Julie Foster on Leave it to Beaver. R.I.P.
He was also Longshanks, in the Mel Gibson movie, Braveheart, where he throws his son's friend out a castle window. He also played, Devereux, a villian in the 1976 movie, Silver Streak, with Gene Wilder, and Richard Pyror.
Joseph Wiseman always regretted that he thought his role (Dr. No) was going to be just another caricature of a "Fu Manchu" type, so it was just another job to him. He was astonished at just how immortal it made him, but he actually said that he wanted to be known for his theatrical work rather than his role as Dr.No.
My Dad died that year on Thanksgiving Day at age 71. WORST day ever of my life!! Also, Michael Jackson died on my 33rd Birthday that year, along with Farrah Fawcett. 😭😭😭
You missed Phil Carey who played "Asa Buchanan" on ABCs "One Life To Live". He passed away February 6th, 2009. This is a very good series. Brings back memories.
A great, big shoutout goes to character-actors. They may not be on-screen for much in the movie, but they always make the movie special, something that becomes a part of us. Ever wonder what happened to those nameless actors we see in favorite movies like Harvey, His Gal Friday, It’s a Wonderful Life, Topper 1-3, Bringing Up Baby, Casablanca & The Maltese Falcon? Well, they died! But their screen presence never will (until Global Climate Collapse hits us full-on and we have to zero-in on the essentials).
Dominick (“Nick”) Dunne was known mostly for writing about his daughter’s murder. It launched his second career as a true crime author. He was also famously covering the O.J. trial.
Jazz singer and pianist Blosom Dearie probably best known for her voice on the "Schoolhouse Rock" song "Figure 8" died Feb 7 2009 of natural causes at age 84.
Senator Kennedy helped save my life with HIPAA. It allowed me to keep my insurance after losing my job and being diagnosed with cancer. 20 years cancer free! R.I.P., Uncle Teddy.
Alright Time to see. A better Memoriam For Ricardo Montalban than the 2009 Oscars Pulling The Cam away, now all award shows are that way and it sucks. And You forgot Space Seed, The episode of Star Trek that introduced Khan, But it's still better than the Oscars. Walt Disney was Mickey Mouse #1. Billy Mays was a Great Pitchman, The Best ads in years.
R.I.P. Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Patrick Swayze, Walter Cronkite, Ricardo Montalban, Ed McMahon, Bea Arthur.
Natasha Richardson.
David Carradine.
Michael Jackson.
Patrick Swayze.
Umaga.
Rest in peace, legends. ❤
Cheryl Holdridge was so absolutely gorgeous. I can't understand why she didn't have a bigger career in TV and movies. Such a fetching smile and a good ability in acting.
She was definitely the girl next door.
@@bobsebring2819 Sure wish she'd lived next door to me!!!
Yeah, very cute.
Edward Woodward gave an gritty, outstanding performance in "Breaker Morant",

Breaker Morant was outstanding.
For those that don't know already, the quote during the showing of Ted Kennedy was part of his eulogy that he gave during his brother Bobby's funeral. Also, thank you again for these videos. They keep bringing back lots of memories.
May God grant them all eternal peace and rest in his Holy Kingdom 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

MJ , Bea Arthur, Paul Harvey (I loved listening to his stories on the radio) Ed McMahon
I loved hearing Paul Harvey too
I member the day when Farrah and Michael died. I saw the news that morning saying that Farrah died. After that I went out shopping with my mom. Next thing I know I was having dinner with my dad and he said that Michael Jackson died. I was in shock! So sad.
Natasha Richardson....oh such a loss. She was so endearing in Parent Trap. I was crushed when I heard she died from a skiing accident.
It was her first time skiing too. She was taking a lesson when she fell and hit her head. So sad.
A real tragedy. She was only 45 yrs old at the time of her death.
I was lucky enough to see Peter, Paul and Mary in concert in Warwick, RI many years ago. Her voice was so powerful that she had to tone it down in order to harmony with Peter and Paul. Also, during the concert, she showed poster sized pictures of her grandkids.
Everyone was shocked including me when I found out that Michael Jackson had passed away away. We're all felt so numb😢
Ed McMahon, was a terrific emcee for Johnny Carson for 30 years, & Jerry Lewis' Right hand man for MDA. Will miss him!
Farrah Fawcett did a Noxema Shave cream spot with Joe Namath in the early 1970's. Exotic beauty, and yeah, I had the poster in my barracks when in the U.S. Air Force.
Farrah Fawcett made over a million dollars just off that poster alone.
Her death was overshadowed by Michael Jackson's death because both died on the same day. Moreover, Jackson's death was unexpected while we knew Fawcett was suffering terminal cancer.
RIP to both. 😭😭😭
Millvina Dean was the youngest on the Titanic at 9 Weeks not 2 Years . Great video!
Thanks for another wonderful testimony to the many who made our lives more fulfilling!
Patrick & Farrah hit hardest for me that year.
Unreal how many "big names" left us in '09. Each new picture was another one and I kept saying "wow."
Rest In Peace Rev gone but never forgotten FoREVer
Thank you for sharing these tributes. Many wonderful talents left us in 2009. May they RIP. God Bless You & stay safe.
Thank you.
2009 was the year many of my favorite act/actresses left this world. Much sadder place without them in it.
Such a wide variety of talented, outstanding individuals.
Couldn't agree more!
Harry Patch, a veteran of WW1 lived to 111. Incredible.
Henry Gibson played a neo Nazi in the movie, the Blues Brother, and tried to get revenge on them, but ends up getting driven off a bridge, lol.
I was sitting in Turner Field when news broke of Michael Jackson's death.

Often imitated, never duplicated. Forever the guiding light! Capt Lou Capt Lou Albano
I am a great admirer of Gene Barry, who inspired me as magazine publisher Glenn Howard in the landmark TV drama The Name of the Game (1968-71) when I was 8 years old.
I miss Billy Mays yelling at me from the T.V.
Another moving tribute RIP all.

Karl Maldon was an outstanding actor. He was good on The Streets of SF.
He was most trusted man in America for years bringing us CBS Nightly News. Je was a superb journalist & master of his craft!
Patrick McGoohan also starred in Disney's "The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh". Loved the title song.
He was also Longshanks, in the Mel Gibson movie, Braveheart, where he throws his son's friend out a castle window. He also played, Devereux, a villian in the 1976 movie, Silver Streak, with Gene Wilder, and Richard Pyror.

He was astonished at just how immortal it made him, but he actually said that he wanted to be known for his theatrical work rather than his role as Dr.No.
He wasn't the first choice to play Dr No either. It was offered to Noel Coward (who was a good friend of Bond author, Ian Fleming)
He was also a regular in Crime Story.
My Dad died that year on Thanksgiving Day at age 71. WORST day ever of my life!! Also, Michael Jackson died on my 33rd Birthday that year, along with Farrah Fawcett. 😭😭😭
Karl Malden should have been nominated for an Oscar in “Gypsy”!
He should have won for Pollyanna!

Soupy Sales didn't throw the pies. They were always thrown at him.
McGoohan was the Warden in Escape From Alcatraz.
Also he played the judge in the movie A time to kill.
@bryankolen7265 One of Samuel's underrated performances. Kirkwood Smith, Donald, and Keifer Sutherland.

Farrah Fawcett's hairstyle was known as the 'Farrah Fawcett flick' or the Butterfly Cut
*I love your videos❤ thank you*
Thank you very much.
Glad you like them!
The reaper was very busy and especially cruel that year.
Walter Cronkite. 💕
That was the year South Park had an episode titled "Dead Celebrities," and the two they made fun of most were Michael Jackson and Billy Mays.
I would be interested if the birthdays were also listed
Some pretty girls and legends here!
Was Patrick McGoohan the Warden in Shawshank Redemption?
You should do 1882
Senator Kennedy helped save my life with HIPAA. It allowed me to keep my insurance after losing my job and being diagnosed with cancer. 20 years cancer free! R.I.P., Uncle Teddy.
