Michael Cole's career resurgence since Vince got out of his ear has been a real treat, after years and years of Cole being dog-shit due to Vince being in his ear; it's nice that Cole gets to show how he's one of the greatest pro wrestling announcers of all time.

I remember watching the Beast From The East special on the Network years back, and it was a revelation. He was relaxed and at ease, and the comentary was so much better. Having Vince screaming in his ear for so many years must have been awful.

Cole still sucks. Yes partially it’s not his fault because of Vince and it’s unfair comparing him to JR (that’s like a rookie compared to Michael Jordan) but back in the day constantly botching saying wrestling moves, trying to shout in the moment trying to be like JR, his slick taking shots one liners that would make him a prick (he did it bunch of times to Booker T) etc. All around he just sucks. Even Ranallo was better than him for the short time he was there.
I see Cole more as a newscaster that didn’t make it and lucked up into wrestling

Corey Graves filling in for Pat this past Monday night for me Cole and Graves are my favorite due today. Michael Cole is definitely top two or three of all time. JR is probably the goat but if I had to pick between him and Jerry the king and Cole and Graves I would pick Cole and Graves that's just a personal preference for me.

Wasn't there also a backstage interview segment with the Lucha House Party in which 'Juan Cena' (wearing the same mask) made an appearance. Can't remember whether it was a televised segment or if it was just for an online WWE digital video.
I remember watching that Wade/Orton match and Matt Striker, God bless him, yelled "Cena's free!!!" After Orton pinned Wade Barrett.

Cole is adaptable. I remember in the early days he was rated poorly by Apter mags. I never understood why until I saw his reaction to Angle hitting Taz with a chair. He says, "What are you, an idiot?" And that comment puzzled me. Your colleague is attacked with a weapon, and that's what you say? It was kinda dumb.
Michael Cole might not be your #1, but on your Mt Rushmore of commentators? Definitely. I hope he has many more years with the restrictions loosened. His WM 40 ending call was ICONIC. His chemistry with the roster and his memory is the best in the industry right now.

Michael Cole is great, but at the same time I think he really needs to work on grilling the heel especially when it comes to Roman Reigns. Throughout all of Roman Reigns' title defenses where he would cheat constantly and during all the weeks of television were he would treat his family like garbage, Michael Cole never went after him like he should have. If that was Jim Ross, he'd be calling Roman Reigns the biggest piece of garbage in the wwe today. Screaming his lungs off about how he should burn in hell at the end of each screw job. He'd be arguing with Jerry Lawler about "How can you support a guy who treats his family like slaves? How can you support a guy who can't even defend his championship by himself and has screwed over so many people?" "Oh quit making excuses for those losers, you're just mad that you aren't Roman Reigns." "And you're an idiot."
But what was Michael Cole saying after Roman Reigns for the hundredth time cheated and screwed Cody out of the title at WrestleMania 39? "We most acknowledge our Undisputed Champion."

That's partly a reason why I feel like the baby face turn for Roman while definitely is wanted from the fans, really isn't earned because he never really got his comeuppance. As soon as he finally lost the title, everybody went to praising him and calling him the greatest of all time despite the fact that in kayfabe he's a cheater and treated his family like crap. Even Cody throughout their entire feud was calling Roman a great champion, and said he was the better man at WrestleMania 39 despite the fact that the guy literally cheated him out of the title.
