for a diehard fan of 12 years, this explanation of what actually happened and why they decided to quit the band was very important for me. it was cool of you guys to do a video about the situation thx!
It really was needed. They probably got close to zero money off it. Alexi was really sick. He was bone and skin. We as a fans needed to know.
They told him go Rehab and he said no no no lol.
It seems that the interview was done after a careful consideration. The tone was anyway very respectful and they said that in many cases they see that it was the illness (alcoholism) speaking and not Alexi. Also at least in some Finnish forums there had been speculation that something bad must have happened during the Russian tour that was too much. I guess now we have the answer to that at least.

The central point that you aren't getting clear here is this: Alexi was C.O.B's composer. The music genius behind it all.
There is no C.O.B. without him, because there can't be. He was telling them all what to play and when to play it. You can see it when you watch the making of their albums. Particularly on the making of Hexed. Alexi could have played with any other musicians-for-hire, which he was in the process of doing with Bodom After Midnight. The new drummer was more skilled than Jaska. That's just a fact! There's a proverb: ''When money flies out the window, love walks out the door.'' When Alexi felt he wasn't getting paid enough by the LLC, that was the end of COB. He was going solo, because he was the only one who could. They should have the humility to admit that.

His new wife wanted more money. This would have NEVER HAPPENED if she wasnt around.
You act as if Alexi was getting ripped off or screwed by his other bandmates. They all agreed to split the money how they did via a contract. Alexi deciding he wanted more later on is just greed. It wasn't just the money issue either for what caused the band's rift. Alexi kept going hard at the bottle and it affected the band's playing and their relationships. This went on for years until they had all had enough. Don't act like Alexi was just trying to get his fair share and was doing well. He had a death wish and just gave up. It was all his fault the band broke up.
@@Mermaidmotel69 Stop trying to turn every band break-up in a Yoko thing. The truth is Alexi had just completely given up on his alcohol problem. He was putting the other guys through crap because of this. This went on for years until they had all had enough. If it was just all because of money, then why was he drinking himself to death on purpose?

Great conversation between a&p. Maybe Alexi was alcoholic, he was so thin in 2019 but in 2020 he got some chub in he's cheeks, new band, new album but then he died. That was a shock😑
I saw Children of Bodom in Aug 2019. He looked like he was in a bad place. He looked sickly and he was thin as a stick. When they announced they were separating, I always assumed that the rest of bands was seeking to get Alexi help. The way they ended it made it seem like they were locking him out to stop him from continuing with a damaging lifestyle, whilst also allowing themselves to retain control but not continue without him out of respect. I thought maybe he was ill with cancer or some other illness, and they wanted him to calm down. I never thought about alcohol abuse. And it seems there was some truth to it. Alexi was out of control and they had to find a way to do what's best for everyone in the band

I was not a fan of the band, actually i learned more about them after Alexi's death.
But i felt that he had great problem with alcohol,he was so thin,sciny i should said, unfortunately alcoholism is a disease and he was ill. The life of those artists especially in metal world is hard, concerts,travels and parties, you must be well controlled to be away from the alcohol and drugs.
His life was a mess and he needed help, so difficult if he didn't wanted help by his own.
Unfortunately he is dead and his fans lost their Idol.
So bad because he was young and he could offers more in music.
I believe that his fan/band's fan need to know some things about what happens back in time.

The dude had actually been getting better but then just completely gave up on it as well as his health. There's not much you can do for someone who refuses to help themselves. Their later album were mediocre anyway if we're being honest. I feel Alexi was just going through the motions and wasn't passionate about music or touring towards the end. That's the way it looked if you watched him anyway.
You have absolute right, he didn't wanted help, his passion for alcohol was above the music,i believe that the other members of the band had serious problem with him,that's the reason that they put him out.
It happens to many bands unfortunately!!!
