This is one of the most beautiful compositions I've heard in a very long time. A beautiful melody, beautiful harmonies, almost a pure acoustic sound with very little fx added, just shear beauty and an absolute pleasure to listen to.
In my opinion, he is one of the finest guitarists in the world. One of my favorite songs of his is "Barcelona"....such an intricate and mesmerizing piece.
I remember seeing Andrew White years ago on candyrat thinking he was great. I always found Andrew White to be one of my favourites on candyrat so it's great to see him play again after all these years. Traces of Silver and Here Comes The Rain by him were among my favourites. Hope to see more in his upcoming album
Really. The picking's great, but the fretwork is awesome! Wasn't he on Narada a long, long time ago? Back when the music critics were trashing it as "New Age"? For which I thank them, as I learned to never listen to music critics ever again. He's done some wonderful stuff.
It's not really "finally;" He's been signed with them for several years. You should check out some of his older stuff too. But I get what you mean about the percussive guitar. Sometimes it's nice to hear some straight fingerpicking. I recommend Bruce Cockburn's "Speechless" album if you haven't heard him yet.
Listening to this reminded me of when I first was inspired to learn guitar- when I could hear Andrew tell a story without ever saying a word and close my eyes and be right there with him on Tumbleweed Road. I've always loved finger style guitar but something about Andrew's playing has always seemed so pure in that it is uniquely his. I've stuck with guitar since then, but these musicians are what have kept me at it. Thank you, Andrew.
I used to watch you play when in The Rainmen at The Corner Bar in Ponsonby. I'm Helen's friend. You were amazing then, now you are just incredible. Your playing brings tears to my eyes. One day I will learn to play.
Yes, I enjoyed the composition very much, Dear Sanjay - not the least for which that it was a naturalistic evocation between the performer and the guitar - not a tale of aggression and subjugation, as so often is the case when male guitarists 'go after' a piece of musick..
Stunning. Its been a while since I listened to a solo guitar piece all the way through. In fact the last one was Tommy's "The Man With the Green Thumb." And that was about a month ago. Bravo, beautiful piece.
Hi Andrew. I first heard you whilst painting my own heart out behind the Glue Pot in 1994. I heard you on NZ national recently and I hope I get a chance to see you live as you are. Im in Japan till xmas if you need a Gig.
This is the great guitarist that accompanied Brendan Power's harmonica work years ago right? Been a long time since I heard anything! This was a really nice piece; it had amazing fluidity.
Really nice to meet you tonight at the Moutere Inn, NZ, and listen to your beautiful music. I was wondering what you'd sound like with a nice studio mic on the guitar, and this piece here was superb. Rick.
Andrew, since I have seen you playing the only thing i'm waiting are new songs. Also trying hard to play this one (more than half already done, its pretty complicated song of this genre). It's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.
I know this kind of language is utterly inappropriate but *this is cool as fuck*. Just cooked myself some chicken pasta while listening to this. Believe it or not, these pastas are the best I've ever done. @Andrew White Thanks! Best spice ever.
Hi Clayton - Actually that's a different Andrew White - but I have played his guitars and they are very nice. I just have not found a better guitar than my handmade Yamaha LJX 36c .
+andrew white Thanks for clarifying, good sir! I just made the assumption considering your prowess on the instrument! lol Great song by the way! The progression is a masterpiece in itself.
This is a superb and beautiful piece in the pure style of Andrew White. If you like it you will like his last album 'Beautiful Trouble' and also his previous one ' Traces of Silver' Thank you Andrew ! Yves

What a superbly composed, beautiful piece of music!
That's you?
definitely not better, its terrible quality...
cool song Andrew
You're a punk, Pedro!
This is one of the most beautiful compositions I've heard in a very long time. A beautiful melody, beautiful harmonies, almost a pure acoustic sound with very little fx added, just shear beauty and an absolute pleasure to listen to.
+Brian Zhang Hes right up there with Don Ross imho
exatcly
It's more than a composition, it's a Journey... Thank you Andrew.

this tune always puts a smile on my face whenever I'm having a down day. such incredible mastery of the fretboard. just amazing

Andrew white is the most under rated musician I have ever heard. Simply amazing
Finally a Candyrat artist who does not bang his guitar. Magnificent composition and outstanding performance. B R A V O!

Ohhh, I just heard some of his songs. He is incredible also!!
This is so beautiful

Beautiful! Nothing beats an original. You are definitely one of those.
Your Compositions Are Suitable Offerings to The Divine...Prayers on Guitar... Thank You
reminds me of good wine and warm nights on the deck days I will always cherish
keep it up
It's so nice to hear someone play the guitar so well and think it also has to be a goddamn bongo drum. What a beautiful piece of music!
when ever I'll think about something brilliant, surely this wonderful performance will come to my mind.
What a journey he brings with this song. Mesmerizing talent!
Many thanks.

He's fantastic and so underrated
I'm humbled that I have in some way been an inspiration to your creativity. Keep playing that guitar! :)
+andrew white I intend to keep playing, Andrew. I am curious- did you ever study music or have you been more of the self-taught kind like myself?
great to see you back "in the game", Andrew! I've been missing you...
That was really, really awesome.
I used to watch you play when in The Rainmen at The Corner Bar in Ponsonby. I'm Helen's friend. You were amazing then, now you are just incredible. Your playing brings tears to my eyes. One day I will learn to play.
This is what we all aspire to. The composition and the artistry. Thank You Sir
Incredible performance, I'm really diggin' the vibes from both the fingerstyle and the composition!
I'm proud to hear Andrew's music. He is truly a fine composer. This piece is lovely. Wallace De Pue Sr.
Hi Andrew, wonderful work, and I hope this finds you well and happy, even if it's five years later.
Great composition and beautiful guitar tone
So nice to have a melodic, well constructed composition on candyrat rather than the usual guitaristic tapping on much of the label
The guitar drumming does get old pretty quickly, it was cool at first but that was a long time ago, i much prefer playing on the strings.
Yes, I enjoyed the composition very much, Dear Sanjay - not the least for which that it was a naturalistic evocation between the performer and the guitar - not a tale of aggression and subjugation, as so often is the case when male guitarists 'go after' a piece of musick..
@@beasheerhan4482 this is a fantastic comment... bang on
@@matthewmcelhinney3737 Thank you so very much, Dear Matthew, for your very kind words!

Stunning. Its been a while since I listened to a solo guitar piece all the way through. In fact the last one was Tommy's "The Man With the Green Thumb." And that was about a month ago. Bravo, beautiful piece.

@Andrew White Thanks! Best spice ever.
Andrew white also has his own personal line of beautiful acoustic guitars for sale. Incredibly affordable, and still top notch playability.
Hi Clayton - Actually that's a different Andrew White - but I have played his guitars and they are very nice. I just have not found a better guitar than my handmade Yamaha LJX 36c .

May I ask what kind of lubricant did you use in this song, sir? Because this song is really, really smooth and fluid.
spirit oil
This is gorgeous. Thank you for posting it. I know I'm late to the party, but where can I buy a digital copy of this track?
