I played Saltwater with him and then he showed me a way to finish the song. He was also teaching my friend how to play Deep River Blues and at the end, I had a lesson for Jolly Swagman. I was having a trouble with the verse so I played it and immediately he picked up my mistake and taught me how. Hope you enjoy the video.

i wouldnt speak on thr man character as i dont know him personally.

to say he isnt popular or fanous is wrong.. he is one of the most recognize studio and live player.. he has played on countless album...he hinself said that he wasnt home that much most of is kids life.

hopefully his kid might get it later.. but if you ask me.. no music is worth the time with your kids growing up ever.

the sane can be said of tommy.. his hand are not normal size. and when you try to play his stuff you quickly understand how huge they are and flexible.
the tumb work cant be acomplished by everyone.
the same can be said of john meyer song Neon... look at his thumb... its very long. and i try to learnthe song and some position are just impossible without a thunbs extension surgery lol.
As a musician who plays multiple instruments and is apart of the hard working class, arthritis is my biggest fear. No joke. Please god dont take away my music. Its all i got

I laughed at that. He's the only guy that can say you are 100% doing it wrong and still not be offended lol.
He seems like such a warm and approachable person. Guitar is merely an instrument that he utilizes to make variety of music that he likes, rather than a master guitarist I would call him a master musician who uses a guitar. The different colors of music that he plays is just phenomenal.
He doesn't need a stage, a big orchestra, a sound service ... genius is genius, anywhere and anytime.
He is a guitarist phenom of the highest order.

i'm reminded by this vid, that thousands of people can "play" most of Tommy's numbers, but no one can do 'em anywhere near as well as him. How does his un-paralleled technique come about, without ever having had single guitar lesson? i think this guy is amazing.

Craig Madden Music I’ve spent 4 days with him on one of these retreats. You’re right he spends almost every waking minute with guitar in hand, the music pours out of him. That in itself is part of the “talent”. But it is a mix of hard work and genuine talent. Talent is real, particularly where music is concerned.

Same with Eric ,use to see Eric for $3.oo in bmt. tx years ago at a club called the" Foxy Lady" (not there anymore) so that's what I mean.

He plays the guitar 8-10 hours a day. You can get to that level also, takes huge dedication.
He's been playing since he was 7. You will be NEVER as good as him! It's like I'll take up UFC and be as good as Khabib in 2 years with 12 hours a days practice. Just be as good as you can be
