Well done Pat! This is a must-see for those who think that the more gadgetry you add, the more "realistic" the MSFS experience will be. Without real-world physics this is never going to be realistic, especially with smaller aircraft. You can replicate the feeling of throwing switches and turning knobs, but you will never experience what it's like to be thrown around so hard in a small cockpit that it's hard to see the gauges and nearly impossible to hold a steady altitude (much less land in conditions that stretch both the capacities of you, and the aircraft). You can not have a real flight experience without the vagaries of that real ocean of air around you effecting everything you do! If you want to see what I mean, go book an introductory flight in a small trainer on a really bad weather day.
FSRealistic would help for shakes from turbulence. I can I need to crank that setting up. Also need to darken the whole image using my nvidia overlay….
I love this. Thank you for putting that work in. I share your complaint about traffic. I see more planes flying around on VATSIM than the sim will show me on its own. :/
I think it actually looks better in VR as it's less saturated than on a monitor. I know some people complain about this, but I think it actually makes it feel more realistic.
Well, noticed you didn't CTD in the real world one 😆. On tree density, there are some places it needs more trees and then there are places like NYC when flying down Broadway, they need to remove the forest.
Hey Pat,…I’ll be watching Your Videos a Bit more often, Seeing I Reside 3 Miles South of The Mohegan Sun casino…lol. I Have the Hartford, Simsbury, & Newly acquired Groton Sceneries installed which is Very Nicely done Seeing it also models The Casino, Avery pt., Downtown New London, & Groton !! “FsRealistic” is One very Nice Program which can Emulate The Real aircraft “Shake” Movements & it Has Many Realistic Sounds as well !👍😎 I’ve also Created More Realism in the Sim by Fussing with my Monitor Settings, IE: Brightness, contrast, & Color as well ! All of these “Addons” Have enabled me to Fine tune MSFS. I Retired from Millstone Power Station in 2019,…& While working there I had a Co-Worker/ “Real world pilot”,… Tell me that Flying a Sim compared to a Real Plane is Quite Different as Your obviously NOT Feeling the Real world Physics, Which makes Perfect Sense !!😎👍✈️✈️✈️ Thanks for all the Recent Short tutorials You’ve posted 😎👍👍✈️
The clouds seem way more "fluffier"/smooth in the Sim. The greys & shadow contrasts are more vivid and realistic (obviously) in the real world. Also I know there are airport texture packs for FS2020 which add skidmarks and stuff to the runways but I feel like this along with night-time lighting are obvious areas of improvement that MS/Asobo really needs to focus on. At the moment runways look like something from FSX-era and needs urgent attention if you ask me. That, and the turbulence/camera-shake factor, like you say. I feel like just a few small touches could make a massive difference to the realism... They've clearly made the sim more "game-friendly" as opposed for aiming for hyper-realism, which to me is a bit of a shame. Hopefully the plan is to beef up realism again at some point in the next stages of development/updates. X-Plane seem to be taking this more seriously at the moment, I see they're implementing photometric lighting for XP12 which is already looking super dope

Try ReShade for the darkening and color tones optimizations etc
I hope for that one day we export logs from foreflight / other tracking services and rebuild them in MSFS.

Piper archer in the RW, doesn’t use the piper warrior from JF which is as pretty much an archer
Thanks for the video.
It's crazy that the sim seems to have more world detail than real life. Probably a limitation of the camera you used...but still, mind blown!

FOV doesn't match which makes it much harder to compare I think
I'm sorry but I keep playing 0:12 because I have NO idea what you're saying lmao

Better weather and ai traffic & ATC
