I’d like to bring your attention to the news about the Ukrainians, along with many open-source intelligence enjoyers, claiming that the Patriot system near Kiev shot down a Kinzhal missile (I recommend the Reuters article about it-it seems the most objective). Seems like the obvious next step would be to capitalize on the news and test it in DCS…
It’s interesting that Habitual Linecrosser, the internet’s resident Patriot expert, has claimed for quite some time that the American SAM is capable of intercepting hypersonics and it looks like he really wasn’t lying.

Yeah, it’s awesome that there’s this symbiosis going with CH providing awesome new assets for Cap’s missions, and Cap giving CH the publicity he deserves.

I really like these showcase videos btw. CH is putting in the work, I'm glad he gets a little bit of a platform to show them off. I don't think I've seen that anywhere before.
As to the GPS jamming issue, I believe the worst that could happen in an environment where the GPS signal is completely gone, would be the missiles simply becoming less accurate - all of the “GPS guided” systems are actually Inertial Navigation Systems which constantly update their data with the GPS signal to eliminate all the INS drift, etc.
So in short - cut the GPS, and the missiles revert to the pure INS.

And they have the GPS correction up until it loses it. So the reduction in accuracy only starts coming into play the last stages where the the jamming is effective. Precision strikes are less likely but they can still hit in the general area and still be likely to achieve their goals. Instead of hitting within a few feet of a target, it might be out 20-30 feet. Light targets will still have a bad day. Hardened targets might be able to escape destruction or even damage if lucky.

Love to see Iron Dome modelled CurrentHill? The way they track and can reacquire seems like kinetic magic. Some insane footage just released.
With modern guided munitions, the CEP average factors in uncommon malfunctions. In almost all cases, either the guidance works as intended and the munition is essentially pinpoint accurate, or there's a malfunction in the guidance and the munition doesn't land anywhere near the target. A CEP of 54 feet doesnt mean half the shots land more than 54 feet away, it means 99 percent of shots are pinpoint and 1 percent malfunction and miss by miles. A CEP of 300 meters on a Scud means it's guidance is really bad and it's an actual coin flip on whether it lands within 300 meters of the target or not.

He releases one tank after the other so I think there’s a good chance he’ll get to the Chally. It would also be nice to see other tanks with an APS, like the Merkava 4M, or the M1A2 SEPv4 Abrams, since he’s already opened that box with the Chinese tank he released…

That HIMARS unit and launcher number was the unit i was in and my exact launcher number
CEP matters. I remember years ago reading an author calling Hitler a fool for not using V1's and V2's against the invasion fleets in port or the bomber bases instead of London. Only recently found out the CEP for a V1 was 20 miles!! If you aimed that at Plymouth, you'd be lucky to hit Plymouth, let alone any military assets in or near the docks! As for an airbase, forget it!

Lol, great video and modules, but I'm struggling to keep up with downloading CH's modules, due to some great additions and changes.
CH is one of the most talented Dev's in the DCS arena.
I really hope that content like this gets intergrated into the base game at some point.
all guided missiles fired from the M270 MLRS and M142 HIMARS were designed for top-down attack, not like how it was shown
in particular those are designed to smash the ground at high speed in order to destroy the high-tech guidance unit even if the warhead fails to detonate
the GLSDB is different because it is a glide bomb

DCS unfortunately doesn’t allow humans to operate most SAMs. People have asked ED to add that functionality for a while now, but it doesn’t seem like there’s a chance of them actually adding that I’m afraid.

In Sweden we have a word for people like CH , it's called "MÖP" (Military - highlyinterrested- people), and his MÖP rating is basically of the charts, the man's a living military encyclopedia, lol :D I'know cause I'm pretty high on the MÖP scale myself ;)

These mods really need to be part of the core game, yes its primarily a flight sim but it detracts from the immersion if you are releasing maps and planes without the relevant supplemental assets. Just look at some of the AI aircraft, literally worse than Minecraft. Oh look the most amazing Map ever release, we can reproduce some amazing WW2 battles, apart from the complete lack of Ai aircraft and allied ground units. Oh lets do D Day, oh no we have next to zero WW2 era ships. Battle of Britain, oh just one version of the Spitfire.

Hans is ok, because with his back turned, he never noticed the missile,, So that Scud did a perfectly sneaky kaboomie. It might have distracted Hans by throwing a rock in the other direction.
And then @21:45 ish , Hans heard the missile coming from behind, so he turns around just as the missile passes,, "Oh, I hear something,, whats this then,,, aw, must have been the wind." Another perfect stealth kaboom, totally unnoticed by Hans.
Which is surpricing , because these are not supposed to be stealth missiles.
Is CH going to make the UK Sky Sabre system GR any time soon? Would like to see how it compares to other types of short and medium range SAM systems. :D Ohh and how about the Type 26 Frigate? Still ages away?

I got a wwii hypothetical for you. Battle of Wake Island, 1941. If the US forces there had some tank battalions on the island and/or an aircraft carrier, let’s say USS Lexington or Yorktown, could they have held off the Japanease long enough for the US Navy to get there on their famous island hopping campaign throughout the Pacific? Granted. For simplicity you could just have the japanease ships attack the island in waves, and each wave would represent a week’s worth of ships based on the ones that originally attacked and captured Wake Island. If I remember correctly, it was mostly destroyers and troops ships that attacked Wake Island, but you would have to double check that.
However, if you have already done a video about this, then can you please give me a link to it?

I never use MT with any mods. I've tried the GR missiles with MT but they fail to track. Switch back to ST and everything works.
Its nice you're adding in all these low level ground assets but DCS just isnt a very good ground warfare sim.

Yes, especially that modern tanks use a special multi-spectral smoke which also blocks infrared light.

Watch the operator aim off axis initially so the Aligator doesn't receive a laser detection warning until the last minute, and its too late for evasion

Hans Grubers badism suffers a LOT(as in it becomes comedy) if you speak german. A bunch of british(?) guys pretending to speak german. Combined with the over ze top evilness, it's sooo bad!
Monty Python once recorded an episode of Flying Circus in german. They learned their lines phonetically. Sadly it was so awkward (but hillarius) that they then switched to english with subtitles. But it's quite the classic now. Oh and the Beatles recorded 2 songs in german with the same technique.

How is it possible that one guy generates more ground units than the entire Eagle Dynamics team? You can't even say that speed comes at the expense of quality - Eagle Dynamics may have better models, but not by much.

The ATACMS sim is pretty weak.
First, the rocket motor doesn't burn anywhere long enough to last to the target.
Second, you keep saying ATACMS but what you show is the unitary variant. This is important!
ATACMS Block I has inertial guidance so the worst CEP. Made up for by its use of cluster bombs. (Video on RUclips of course).
Block 1A traded mass (fewer cluster bombs) for range. It also added GPS so its CEP is better. (Not quite as good if you don't have the current crypto keys for the P-code signal.)
The unitary variants built on Block 1A so keep its CEP.
Oh, and the ATACMS launch pod is designed so that from a distance it looks like a MLRS pod.
And speaking of MLRS, the GMLRS sim has the same infinite duration rocket motor problem. Plus it is missing he guidance fins and the aft fins aren't spinning.
It's a limitation on user made mods. Because we can't control the trajectory, modifying the burn time is the only way to get the same range performance.
