We have idiots in office here in California who have an agenda without considering what’s really good for our state ! They would love for all residents to go back to the dark ages while they take advantage of modern amenities.
You can have the same problem in a hotel room. Your advice is good. I try to pick a spot that has a reasonable amount of distance between the sites. Although not always possible. It’s bound to happen from time to time. Take care.

I wonder if the fallout of California's CARB act is going to be knocking on all the doors of our senators, repesentatives and our new president where they have to jump in to save jobs, the financial stability of industry and lost tax revenue?
I was getting nervous here in California, as we have a fairly new Class B RV with a higher GVWR rating than the rumored 8500 lb limit. It's best to wait until the dust settles. I can't believe my rig would be on the chopping block, as it's pretty efficient gas-wise.
Its only for new sales i believe ....They not going to make you get rid of something you already purchased...Especially with the price tag you paid for it...
5:00 The RVIA is being simplistic in their statement as there are plenty of motorhomes such as Class C's on ford Chassis that are already exempt because Ford has 7% EV versions or credits on those Chassis. Mainly it might affect the large Chassis that don't have 7% EV versions at all, and for their volumne, they don't want to create EVs or pay for EV credits.
We're going to Smoky Mtns this May 2025 so we were interested in your reporting about timed entry. We looked and looked and, nope, there is no timed entry there.
They also won't be selling Semi trucks in California. The EV semi did not work as it can't handle the heavy loads. The few that exist seem to be burning up in spectacular fashion.
They can use whatever terminology they want to use, but it is still a draconian law they are trying to enact. It will essentially create a monopoly by preventing any smaller dealer or manufacturer to compete since they won't be able to fulfill the zero emission requirements, but allow huge corporations to do just that. If they passed a law saying someone was allowed to come to California and eat whatever they wanted, but they had to bring in four other people who were vegan, guess what... California would be basically be banning people from coming in. As usual for California, the intent is commendable... to provide cleaner air, but the solution is not thought out, absurdly ridiculous, and harmful in the long run to independent businesses and the people it is supposedly trying to protect.
If the sole purpose of an LLC is to evade taxes, the IRS and state authorities will declare it to be void and fraudulent. Then they really come after you. If you have other bonafide reasons to create an LLC and you can PROVE them, check with a tax attorney before attempting this. Since most states, and insurers, will require a vehicle to be insured, registered, and titled there if they are there over 90 days in a row, regardless of the ownership, you need to check these rules or keep moving.
I'm going to say something controversial, but hear me out... I hope there IS a ban on new motorhome sales for a a year or five from this. The quality of motorhomes being manufactured since COVID is terrible and a few years of research and development to fix all the issues with the existing motorhomes and design and build better products for the next generation of motorhomes would be great. People who want to purchase will still have the option of getting TTs or fivers or even used motorhomes, but it'll improve the industry as a whole.
Will this ban not affect RV manufacturers’ profits by reducing sales, potentially prompting these corporations to cut corners further and lower product quality, exacerbating the existing quality control issues plaguing the industry? A downturn in revenue is unlikely to incentivize investment in higher-quality, and consequently more expensive, products-particularly as more states consider adopting California’s ruling. IMO, this approach risks intensifying, rather than resolving, the challenges facing the RV sector.
@@mikespies786 it's the high demand states that are shutting them down. The demand will be lower before the profits are. They have time to fix the issues if they don't delay.
I understand what you are trying to accomplish, but a ban does not do this. Let's say you like to eat meat for dinner. They ban you from buying meat since it is unhealthy. What happens? You buy as much meat as you can before the ban, and then a black market pops up for future needs. Bans NEVER work. They figured that out during Prohibition. If you want quality builds, everyone needs to only buy quality. Manufacturers who still make low quality vehicles will lose money and be forced to change. And if you say not everyone can buy high quality, you admit there is a market for low quality... and that's why they continue to make low quality.
There is one way that might work. RV manufacturers eould need to go to electric motors and have the class A like a ribrid setup. Diesel motor would only be used for power generation.
I'd love to see some options from @EdisonMotors for a DoE hybrid for motorhome chassis... Build it so that the battery bank for the motor(s) also runs all the home AC needs and cover the roof of that baby in solar panels so you could drive a couple hundred miles, camp for a couple days, drive a couple hundred miles, camp for a few days, rinse, repeat and rarely need to plug in or fill up ever...
