- A second issue popped up with the Ford 351W roller cam retrofit kit. Comp Cams kit SK35-427-8 and kit 31-1000. There was an interference issue with the dog bones to block in three locations.
I’m working on the same project
I'm feeling like less of a hack. I just found a master build's video that solves this issue the exact same way.
What push rods?
Sorry, this was a couple years ago. Since then my entire home and garage was flooded during hurricane Ian. I no longer have the record of the part number. If I remember correctly, Summit recommended the correct pushrods when I ordered the kit.
You're having issues because the lifter bosses are not tall enough, you should of went with link lifters.
The same parts in the wrecking yard. Even can use used Ford lifters. Comp makes junk. Ford parts are better.
I'm using stock Ford roller lifters in a modified boss 302.
Can easily spin stock roller hydraulic lifters to 7,000.
You can't use oem lifters in a non roller block. The oiling holes are in a different location and you won't get oil through the pushrods to the rockers
@@jasonochs8369 you can if you off set grind the cam.
@@cammontreuil7509 so can you explain more because there's not a lot of info out there on this. I'm guessing it means getting a custom ground cam? I couldn't just use an off the shelf cam, correct?
I’ve never heard of offset grinding a cam. What exactly are you talking about?@@cammontreuil7509
How has this worked out for you? I’m looking doing same thing.
It's running great!
