Repel and look at target effect using geometry nodes [BLENDER 3.0]

Does the position node give the position of the single original eyeball mesh origin or the position of the points of the grid? Still not understanding clearly.

Position of grid points, see which geometry Set postion node is using.

Is there a way to limit the repelling to only x & y axis? So removing any z movement ?
