this beauty was released in 2009, and in my opinion, it still is one of the best Optimus Prime toys ever. WAY better than MPM-04 Optimus Prime. That toy had too many flaws. I'd say the only "con" of Buster Optimus Prime is the big backpack, but still looks good.
Considered the budget i think its worth bit of sacrifice for the backpack in all honesty. Because at least the parts that needs to go is there well aside for the genius cheating for the grill of the truck becomes the bottom of the feet of course. Overall, it still executes well
Mpm4 by takara is way better in terms of accuracy to the Cgi model but this has way better quality build to it
But they totally cheaped out with the half painted front but the back is completely annoyingly unpainted for such a high budget figure 💀💀💀

@@shinwave no I was talking about the hood of the arm parts for the front half of the vehicle of the truck of optimus prime that I'm attempting to transform the front is complicated
the truck trailer is not included
Yeh you have to get the alignments of the elbows right or else the cab part wont stay put together when you’re going to attach them to the legs
I find it easier if you align the position of the elbows first before you insert the cab part on top
Which version of the 2009 leader class is this? I don't remember there having gold on the grille
Its the Takara release which is the Buster Rrime
If this figure didn’t exist, masterpiece wouldnt be masterpiece (even though mpm-04 has many flaws). I’m planing to get the Wei jiang black apple thunder leader (optimus prime) and looking back at this figure i realized that this was really important because if this figure didn’t exist, mpm-04 wouldn’t exist, so does the Wei jiang thunder leader. I’m glad hasbro took their engineering to the limits with this figure in 2009.
Yup sum people tends to miss that. Its not just “okay the figure looks accurate” or “better than the leader counter part” but its also how it feels and transformation wise and ofc appreciate its first existence of hasbro peek era

How to remove the blades?
There are 3 screws at the forearm, remove those and remove the sword

Just flex the piece ever so slightly well enough to give a room for the chest to slot inside the elbow
