    Your work is absolutely stunning! I've never seen headbands sewn like that, and you make the blind tooling look so easy! Everything comes together so well. 10/10 sir.

    I don’t know why but this video and the other book video makes me think of myself doing this but in a medieval time type of feeling in a medieval looking house in the woods somewhere on this planet and I like that feeling, I don’t know why but I do

    I'm happy to see you've now got a sewing frame. Much better to sew on cords than to put in the faux cording you used in the last journal video. The addition of a pair of backing boards to your kit will make backing the spine much more convenient.
    I must say that your headbands are very beautiful.

      Hello there!
      I saw your comment and knew i had to wedge in between,sorry about that!
      How does a spine whose leather is directly glued on top of,open smoothly? With hollow spine and fake cords i can make it happen no problemo,but i want to do the real thing and every time i open such a project the leather on the spine cracks.
      Cheers,happy new year to both of you!

    • @ElliotNesterman
      @ElliotNesterman 3 года назад

      @@Turgon92 When the leather is glued directly to the cords the spine will crack if the book is opened too far. Traditional bindings on cord are not meant to be opened completely flat.
      If you want your bindings to open flat you should use Coptic sewing and cover with cloth or thin leather. Also, don't glue the covering to the spine with a Coptic binding.

    • @Turgon92
      @Turgon92 3 года назад

      @@ElliotNesterman ah that makes sense yes,they were propably for reading only? no need to open further than necessary. i dont want em to open completely,just enough for one to be able to write into. the hollow spine serves me good for that purpose.
      i much appreciate the time spent for answering me,have a wonderfull day!

    Love your work, if it’s possible would you be able to show the stitching you do on the top and bottom of the binding in more detail in a future video? Book binding has always interested me, and it’s something I’ve wanted to get In to.

    I wish i have an enough equipment and tools. I started up make a book from scrap, drawing book and some old stuff since 2016 and still soo much things to learn. In Malaysia, there is no supply throughout online shop for like what you have. Mostly i research people made it by themselves with masterful wood works skills and cost a lots of money. The craftsman are skillfull too. By looking at your works, i love it. I just can watch and learn. Thanks for sharing man. 👍🏻 i subbed👍🏻

    Gorgeous.
    Say mate,do they open smoothly,without the leather cracking? Im a noob myself,granted,but i cant for the life of me understand how,when the leather is directly glued on the spine. With hollow spine,i can make it open perfectly,but only that way.
    I really want to not place fake cording,but the results so far were not good.. i hope im making myself clear xD
    Have a productive and healthy 2022!
