In addition to the economic development for the modern times, can Jammu and Kashmir's original character be restored to pre-foreign-invasion status? Or, as close to it as it can possibly be done? Greater wisdom, prosperity, harmony and peace emanated from there... So I have learned from history.
My reading of the current situation is that it is recovering remarkably well, the positive improvements are so visible for all of us to see, but some societal elements are trying to stop it.

This is really a very great victory for Indian constitution and for the present centre government also. We never want to see a separate constitution and law an order for a state that belongs to India. So as Indians we upheld the abrogation of Article 370 wholeheartedly.
Constitution are made for people who are living there. If Kashmiri people doesn't like this law then this is just oppressing them. And oppression is the only reason for weaker law and order. Think wisely otherwise this region cannot afford another Pakistan.
If authentic kashmiri people pandits cannot settle in Kashmir then it's right to change law

I visited Kashmir in 2022 , stayed there for 7 days , visited major places like Gulmarg , Pahalgham ,Srinagar etc. Kashmir is one of the best places in India which are less explored and the beauty is beyond words.Being from Kerala snow laden mountain peaks are wonders especially at Gulmarg. Hope the security threats are down to 0 so that everyone from the World can come and enjoy .

@@newworld786 I have visited Kashmir only once and on the first day in Srinagar there was a granede blast in one of the market and one policeman was killed which was shown on the news while I was at the hotel. There was military personnel everywhere from evening the next day . Apart from the freelancing tourist guides all the people were nice during my stay . So your opinion is totally wrong and me hoping 0 threat is a good gesture as a human being.Hope you clear your facts before correcting other’s personal experiences and opinions 😄

You need to do more research about kashmiri pandits ,they have not gone anywhere , they are living in jammu division with luxury life , enjoyed privileges and reservation in govt jobs , most of them have sell their lands and ablaze their houses deliberately in order to benefit from govt policies and luxury back then and more over I heared from my grandpa and grandma back then people were living in hormony an'd still in some some parts of kashmir valley muslims perform the last rites of their Hindu neighbour ,we have not a racist problem here like in UP and other states ..

Common kashmiri Muslims still have not given up their anti-Hindu attitude. Hindu tourists who visit Kashmir have problem in visiting the Hindu shrines. The taxi drivers and horse owners find some excuse or the other to avoid taking the tourists to such Hindu shrines. There is too much fleecing of the tourists, especially by cab drivers. This deplorable mindset is yet to change.

Agreed. When we visited Kashmir last year, we had tilak on our forehead after visiting shankarcharya temple. Post this when we went to buy a water bottle from a shop, the shopkeeper didn’t even bother to give us bottle even after asking multiple times. He just pretended like we didn’t even existed there. He was just taking orders from Muslim people who were present. We moved away from that shop and took water from another place nearby.

What autonomy?? SCOI has made it crystal clear Jammu and Kashmir cannot be an independent country. Its sovereignty was lost the moment the maharaja of J &K signed the instrument of surrender. The only people who are crying about this ruling are people like Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba mufti whose families have used 370 to plunder loot and terrorize J & K for more than 70 years at India's expense.

Actually Kashmir's article 370 is not a problem atall for Pak. It is emperor XI who is instigating Pak to pressure India to return Indian side Kashmir to Pak so that he can annex it permannently with China. The problem here is that every Pak PM had received a massive amount of bribe from PRC. This bribe is actually a price for entire Kashmir.. Unfortunately, all Pak PMs have failed miserably to honour their promise. Oh ! What a bad luck.

It is a victory for every citizen of India, including students. Please make engineering CET and NEET seats in Kashmir, available to every qualified citizen of India. I hope the special status is removed for all education institutions and government jobs too. Students from all over India should be able to compete for college education and jobs in J&K and the central government should ensure their safety. Just like how Kashmiri students are allowed to take seats anywhere in India, it should be the same for everyone. Remove every special status now.

I am completely in favor of abrogation of Article 370. To my brothers and sisters of Kashmir, my request is to think pragmatic. Had Kashmir remained separate, I dare say, you would have achieved very limited in past 70 years. Just take a look at the number of renowned Kashmiris who have generated significant employment, wealth, value etc. in Kashmir (across any religion) or elsewhere. You will not find many or with significant heft.
You would have probably become a stooge of Pakistan or China by now. Or, perhaps those countries would have overrun you in their desire to contain India. Maybe the claws of Islamic extremism would have made your beautiful land barren and desolate. More than Kashmiri Pandits, it is your own religion that would have devastated you. I am not being biased here, look across the various Islamic majority countries and you will see the reality.
You need to come out of the mindset of fairy tales and take a step towards the future.
On another note, just like SC has removed a temporary provision of 370, I pray and hope, someday the temporary provision of reservation is removed from this country as well. Not sure whether I/this generation will be alive to see that happen. Jai Hind and Jai Our People.

How could political parties of Kashmir demand the special status back when they didn't do anything for the people living there in setup of that status? People in other parts of the country are in better position then people of Kashmir. I think now J and K people should give chance to another system to help them develop.
