Thanks for posting these videos, I am going to use this as a reference while putting on the rotors for my 71 C10. Going with some Powerstop Z23s. Looks like a cool build by the way.
My boy here telling us to save time packing the bearings but uses fingers to pack the outer bearings getting his hands all greasy. Thats how we roll haha
my 72 C10 is converted to rotors on the front and i believe my passenger bearings are on their way out.. i got the bearings located, what do you know what the PN was on the washer and nut? or what year C10 you used to buy/convert?
Has anyone had an issue with the rotor being loose after install. I have the 1.25 rotors. Drop spindles for the 1.25 rotors. If I install without the bearing race everything goes on fine but there’s a lot of play. If I install with the race it doesn’t go on far enough to put the caliper to bolt back up. Race seems to be sticking out to far.
I mean much of the space between the bearing had thick grease and my entire cap was full too. Had a squeaking so i thought the bearing was going out but they looked okay, cap was bent and allowing water and rust to get in there
Doing my front end on my 1987 r10 thanks for the informative video. 💯
Glad it helped you out!

I don’t have the part numbers but I would assume they used squarebody spindles to make it disc brake. Parts stores should have what you need
Thanks
No problem glad I could help!
Thats not a squarebody. Thats a frame. lol.
Came for some torque specs and got that and a gun show.
Thanks for the video. Take care.
Well it is a squarebody frame 😂
Thanks for sharing this vid..👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yes sir, hope it helped. Thanks for the support!
When u put the new race in...do u have to press it in before u set the bearings and then put the seal in?
My rotors came with new races already in it, but you would have to press the races in before the seating the bearings
Thank you and I subscribed
Glad the video could help, I appreciate the support!
What brake calipers did you end up going with?
Stock replacement from local Napa
Sweet thanks brother!
Glad I was able to help you out!
Great instructional video. Are you using 1 inch or inch and quarter rotors?
Miguel Lopez they are 1.25” rotors.
My rotor is only going on halfway. It won’t allow me put it on fully
Have the correct bearings and rotor? They make 1” and 1.25” rotors. The HD 1.25” require different bearings.
That’s what happens to me I had to get 1.25 bearing to fix the issue 3 different parts run and going to attempt tomorrow

The rotors I bought had all the races pre installed.
Do you have the part number for your rotors and where you ordered from?
I don’t have the part number but they are just stock replacements. I picked them up at my local Napa.
Hi great video question what kind of pads do u used?
I just used whatever brand Napa had on the shelf. Knowing me I bought the cheapest pads they had at the time.
@@3rdGenC10s do u know what is the part number?
I don’t off the top of my head , but I’ll see what I can find
SR SR52
@@3rdGenC10s thank u so much i apreciated
Huh i did mine with my father a while back and used much much more grease than that

Have over 13k miles on it since ls swapping it bearings have never had a problem.
