My method for making glycerites for my kiddos has been to add just enough alcohol to dampen the herb, I let that sit for about 24 hrs then I add the vegetable glycerine. I feel like the ones I have made this way are noticeably different in strength. It’s not enough to preserve though.
I love hearing about everyone’s methods. Thank you for sharing. I use the quantities I shared fur strength and preservation. That works for me but the great thing about natural herbalism is that there are so many beautiful ways to work with the plants ❤️🌱❤️
I’ve heard it pulls out more VOC’s which are also in resins so that makes sense. All I know is I love them and they have great results with clients ❤️🌱❤️
As with all herbal medicine there is no exact dosage as each plant is individual and each person is individual. It also depends on whether you are treating an acute or chronic condition. In clinic I will prescribe from 1/2 a teaspoon a day up to four teaspoons a day. So there is massive variation. I always say if the plants and medicine are new with you start with a small amount and work up from there. Checking the plant is suitable for you and there are no contraindications. I hope that’s helpful ❤

Love your beautiful way of teaching. Thank you!
Thank you for watching and your kind words ❤️🌱❤️
Hi. Love video. Is it the same process if you used dried elderberry? Prob less berries? Tx
Yes same process. As you said, use less berries to allow room for expansion. Thank you for watching ❤️🌱❤️
I have heard that glycerine pulls out resins better than alcohol so maybe that it what it being pulled out more and hence the higher aroma and volume?
