The second time I had to pry and pull so hard I thought it would break. That was using a cheap aftermarket filter, so I suspect it didn't fit right. Using Honda OEM now!

Exactly, for a cabin and engine air filter, way too much! You can do this yourself easily. Just keep the receipts and register your repair on the Honda website.
Are there any aftermarket performance cold air intakes that fit? It seems the 1.5L standard engine trim has a million but I don’t see any for the hybrid
I am not aware of any available. I don’t think cold air intakes are worth it anyway for the minuscule benefit if any in power. This modification can also be used by the dealer to deny warranty repairs.
Dang my air filter is already like that after 8k in Dallas! Although the shape matches but the websites say it won't fit my CRV hybrid 2022... Not sure why!
@@OwenLucas Thanks for the hint! I called the dealership parts center and they confirmed they have it. I’m picking the filters up from there tomorrow! I just realized that even those online purchases apparently sold and shipped by the dealership parts stores!
That is the resonator chamber, the filtered air flows through there before the engine. It reduces air pressure in the engine, improves RPMs, and muffles the noise caused by the engine.
Yep its that simple, make sure the air filter box snaps in fully to the rear by the inlet tube and is flush with the lower box / air filter is not misaligned.

That's a ridiculous price, but unfortunately most dealers charge that much. DIY is so much cheaper for some auto repairs.

I get my filters from the dealer. Have the Honda parts counter guy run your vin and he’ll have the right filter for you.

This is the only air filter the engine requires. I recommend the Honda one due to the factory coating on the filter media.
