Why We Put x2 MaxxFan Dome's on our VW Crafter

- As we continue working on the Van, we decided to install x2 MaxxFan Domes instead of one large one. This is to work with our Roofrack. Ignore the Thumbnail, I have a habit of Calling them Maxxair Fans haha!
I hope this little video is a bit useful. I will provide more videos on how we wire them up and more installation type videos soon too. As I'm not doing the work myself, since I am terrible at DIY, I have Tobias helping with these works so its done professionally.

Nice! I'd really like to know how high off the roof those fans protrude, open and closed. I have a clearance of 8.25 cm (3¼") due to my roof rack. Thanks, in advance.
If you message me on Insta I can send you the image mate. I managed to get a tape measure up there and they stick out around 85cm (3 1/2 inches) when open! :)
I think you will find those fans are a heck of a lot better than nothing. If you can find a way to get an air vent from from the cab of the van you could possibly use cab air vents to get the outside air into the van, draw across the cargo area and out the top

Guessing you've had a chance to test them out now, working well? I'm thinking of putting one in my Traffic, or maybe I should do 2 like you have.
I wish 😭😭 still in the build phase. We’re aiming for end of march time to be ready. Fans are working at least… how well, I’ll update as soon as we’re in full time!

Perfect for small spaces such as a shower or near a cooker for that venting but even x2 don’t really work too well “for the van” even slowly.
I do have it above our PC so if it gets really hot we can pull some air out but it’s not really that good for general van venting. We are just leaving them open now as a rear air vent and then leaving the windows open a bit at the front and it creates a nice little airflow to avoid too much condensation which is good!
Kilmat sound deadener should be put on the walls of the van.

i`ve alwais love a black camper van untill one year in summer a neighbour came and ask how it`s feel inside my van and tell him to hop up he was blown just how nice the temp was inside compared to his get to his van and that was a stove glad i left the van white
Did the domes work ok under the roof rack as thinking of doing the same...
Yeah!! We had a very small clearance though, not sure if it’s reduced the effectiveness but they still working okay! 💪🏻

Not the best…. 😂😭 They do work, if it’s hot around the PC area it does work, but you need both on and they are quite loud. Planning to do a bit more of a talk on these at some point soon
