16 year old phenom vocalist Gabbie Rae joins Tourniquet drummer Ted Kirkpatrick in a new video to the song “LET THE WILD JUST BE WILD” from the latest Tourniquet/Ted Kirkpatrick album “Onward to Freedom”. Gabbie appears as guest vocalist on the groundbreaking album, which is all about bringing awareness and fighting against animal cruelty and injustice. Other artists on the album include vocalists Michael Sweet (Stryper, Boston, Sweet & Lynch), Dug Pinnick (King’s X, KXM), Mattie Montgomery (For Today), Kevin Young (Disciple), Blake Suddath (Your Memorial), Nick Villars (Sleep Star Ignition), and Luke Easter (Tourniquet). Guest guitarists include Marty Friedman, Chris Poland (ex-Megadeth, OHM), Bruce Franklin (Trouble), Rex Carroll (Whitecross), Tony Palacios (Guardian) and Aaron Guerra (Tourniquet).

Ted, you'll probably never read this nor ever meet me, but you ARE the reason I took the next step in drumming. I started with "Intense Live Series, Vol. 2" and can still probably near cover every song. All my drumming life I get compliments on how they've never heard drumming like me before and are blessed at what I have to offer. I've incorporated so much of your drumming style into mine (without knowing) that one would recognize. I'm no where as good as you, but God has given me a gift and I'm honored that He uses me as a vessel during worship and I thank both Him and you Ted for giving me the gift that I have.

Tourniquet, and in particular Ted, is the reason I play guitar, bass, piano, and drums. Been a huge fan since Stop The Bleeding, with favorite albums being Psycho Surgery and P.O.D.).
Thank you Ted for being such an inspiration. The Lord blessed me with the ability to learn to play an instrument incredibly quick and easy and it was Tourniquet that really gave me the push to play in bands and write.
I met you once a while back. Probably around 1994 or so...Guy and Erik had left but Gary and Victor still remained, Aaron joined and Luke was singing (I think that's right). It was California City I believe. The promoter was a friend of mine (no longer now) and the turn out wasn't what was expected. Ticket sales didn't cover the cost and he had to borrow money from his Dad to pay you guys in full. He learned his lesson as a result. May be Christians in a band but it's still a business.
Anyway, to this day I still find inspiration through your music. I hope the Lord continues to bless you to continue writing and publishing your music. I give thanks to God and I thank you too Ted. God Bless.

I would be totally fine if Tourniquet were to take her as a permanent vocalist. She can do both the shouted screaming stuff and the clean vocals. I would love to hear her do some of the older material. Would be killer.

I have listened to Tourniquet since the early years. My first album was Stop The Bleeding, and I still have it. Y'all have yet to make an album I don't love and doesn't challenge my beliefs. Keep on keeping on.

Actually what I love most about Tourniquet is this incredible ability to change the style of each album. The essence is never lost, because this musical essence resides in this great drummer named TED KIRKPATRICK. But I think these experimentalisms are fantastic.

@@tourniquetdotnet Glad for your aswer TED. My son and I really wanted to see the TOURNIQUET concert in São Paulo last year. We regret that it was not possible. However, we hope that the band will make an agreement with some sponsor and someday will play for us. My son grew up listening to Tourniquet. When he was 5 years old I gave him my Stop The Bleeding CD as a gift.

Rex was quite epic on this track. Getting Gabbie Rae (her vocals fit the track as my friend Gwen Bartolini of Grigori 3 was an early choice as I heard Gabbie's vocals I came to the conclusion Gwen would been too angry of a vocalist for a haunting melodic track.) Both Rex and Michael are quite formidable guitarists as I almost tapped Rex for a progressive goth-doom/industrial metal project as I would had introduced him to a secular crowd. He's good but doesn't quite get the credit he deserves as a shredder as he's rooted in Deep Purple. This track is a combination of your Tourniquet output and the Trouble years. As your cover of the Tempter is a cult cover track as many of the fanbase don't know the original album as I had the original and noticed the slight changes as in the liberties of removing "bastard" and replacing it with a slayer scream. I was going, "Was Ted taking cues from Metallica when he covered this?" The Tourniquet version of The Tempter gave the fanbase a glimpse of Bruce Franklin and Rick Wartell's talent as I approached Bruce about capturing the signature doomy wail in a thrash metal track as I wanted to combine Trouble's delivery with the tenacity of Mid-era Metallica and 1990s era Testament (the Ritual.)

Impressive song. Impressive vocals. I'm a Christian. I'm a vet. I'm against war. But sometimes wars have to be fought. People and animals have to die. I'm a hunter. I shoot guns and bows. We have to learn to hunt. Some day, the refrigeration trucks will not arrive. Then, we have to hunt and fish. Gardening is not enough. Only so much protein from plants.
Animal farms for the sake of [excessive] profit is not good. Not any better or worse than any enterprise for [excessive] profits. Just like war for profit. Domesticated cats and dogs were once wild in antediluvian times. Should man not have a fish aquarium? It should be about stewardship. Not just about mere killing of an organism.
Do animals have rights? If we gave them that, would they comprehend it. Would they know how to do defend those rights? Mankind is far more cruel to his own kind.
Ted, have you ever wondered if you focused more of your creative talent on what a Chris Kyle type could do to a Palestinian child, rather than Bambi, God might just start smiling even bigger. Perhaps if we focus more of our energies on man's cruelty to man, then everything might just fall into place ..

There is no reason to kill predator animals that are not being a nuisance or safety threat. I see nothing wrong with the taking of game to fill the freezer with meat. Hunting for food is far more noble and less cruel than a factory farm. I certainly didn't expect that roar at the end of the song!

No offense but I prefer the more Hetfeild sounding voice of Luke Easter I wouldn't mind more guttural death metal metal vocals in tourniquet either gabbie rae is good in her on right but I would prefer more brutal vocals for their style of music which more thrash metal oriented

The song is good and i guess that the young female vocalist is good, my problem with all the guest female vocalists in metal music is that they all sounds the same, it doesn't matter if the female vocalist is from the USA, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Germany, or any other country, as if there is only one way to sing, i refer to female vocalists who sing clean vocals, Ted was a great drummer, R.I.P.

Sorry folks. The whole "here comes the talent!" camera shot with her and her luggage is outdated and stupid. I don't even know who she is. Only a few people do, and it's not enough to roll out the generic, cheap video red carpet. Not impressed, but I'm here for the drum lesson....so, grain of salt?
P.s. Don't hit me with the "you haven't been paying attention if you DON'T know who she is!" bulljive. I looked her up on Wikipedia. Crickets. In addition to not knowing who she is, her lack of production is propped up by an assortment of other people who have joined her in the witness protection program.
Gabbie Rae is an up & coming artist. My daughter went to school with Gabbie Rae when she was 10 yrs old. Gabbie Rae has been singing since she was 7 yrs old, at a little bar called Jay's in Little River, SC. She lived in Myrtle Beach at the time. She currently lives in LA now, & actually is very well known. I don't know if you know who the band DIO is from the 80's, but Wendy Dio (DIO's wife) is now her manager/producer. She went on tour in Europe a couple years ago. She's just turned 21 yrs old In May. She has some music on I Heart Radio, Sound Cloud, Reverberation, RUclips, etc. She attended the Mosters of Rock Cruises in 2015 and 2016, where she performed with Axle Rose from Guns n Roses, Whitesnake, & many other rock artists, mostly from the 80's. She has worked with several other celebrities and is an advocate for Free to Luv anti bullying campaign. She's still a very sweet young lady with a very bright future! If you don't know who she is, give her a few more years, I'm sure that by the time she's 25 - 30, everyone will know who she is!
