I'm in India in 2015/16, listening to TOURNIQUET for the first time in 15 years or so. So, then I have also been reading a book about the SENTINEL ISLANDS which are part of INDIA. Anyhow, I am listening and load up this album for the first time on youtube as i lay in my room in INDIA, then this song shows up called SENTINEL ISLANDS or something exactly RELATED TO WHAT I was reading. This happened to me in 2009 November 26 or so, late November, I opened an album and weird coincidence happened back then too.
Tourniquet does that a lot; one thing I feel makes them also different than the rest of the world is the length of their songs and in some they are able to change it up so smoothly, you wonder if its the same song! Yeah, just like God's blessings - still going!
This is Tourniquet's most artful song. Tourniquet might be a Christian metal band, but they exceeded Christian heavy metal with their lyrics by making high art with their delivery. Tourniquet's most artful tracks are Ghost At The Wheel with Bruce Franklin, and Moth Rust Destroy which shows Marty's solos. They should let Marty co-write some of the lyrics.
i agree the first 3 rock..never the same after gary lenaire left. that's why i listen to the voiceless album most.this album has a pathogenic structure/feel which makes me very happy and the sound or tone of crawl to china

That's my favorite album. Mostly the song "Where Moth and Rust Destroy" because of the epic - EPIC! - 5-6min window in the song that is nothing in the world of wonderful guitar love I never thought possible. Intense and fell in Love \,,/
You should try and enlist Desiree of Rain Fell Within fame; I followed her band in the 2000s as I found my recent friends Novembers Doom on Dark Symphonies. Ted a female vocalist would give Tourniquet a unique dimension -- Gabbie Rae complimented Onward to Freedom as Gwen would been too angry of a vocalist though she's more in-your-face on Grigori 3's second album.
Actually they are both very good but Tourniquet took it to another level -- where Metallica did this with one album merging an orchestra, Tourniquet had orchestration through the entire album on this one, Metallica are icons on their own terms -- that returned to their roots with Death Magnetic, and Tourniquet's 2000s cycle and this album, it is their best work with Luke Easter as vocals as now he is the voice of Tourniquet. I couldn't get into Vanishing Lessons at first
Nickolaus Pacione immunity vector is another amazing arrangement. I got to play it in band class in junior highschool. The teach was so amazed he didn’t know the exact classical pieces being played but he recognized them for sure. I bet it was the first time music like that was played through the speakers.
If you listen it has a Metallica tone to it shes not saying it sounds exactly like Metallica, but that it has a certain tone to it, and I agree, The vocals sound kinda like James Hetfield.
I don't mean to disrespect Luke Easter, but I wonder if Tourniquet had deeper vocals, they would push over that barrier that has kept them from reaching a much larger audience. I actually felt the same way about Ritter, but on Pathogenic, he showed that he could rein in his vocals enough to work within the music instead of screeching over it. I sometimes wonder how a Ryan Clark type of vocalist would do with Tourniquet.
for Tourniquet if you notice, they have longer songs than most and they have long periods of just their wonderful instrument playing. They're doing just fine, may God continue to bless them forever and ever, amen.
so its a rough voice, .. how bout "Oh Well" :P .. can't find things wrong with them when its a blessing to hear them, every time I need music hard enough and words not dampening the Spirit. I love Tourniquet for all I've been through these 6 years of being a Widow, their music is everything to me and was left by my passing husband who was a man of God and opened to door to all these wonderful Christian bands the world doesn't know nor care about - but we do. God bless all the Children of God
The kings of Christian speed metal are backmy prayers are answered my ears where starving for candy lick this ps ted if you read this thanks for free copy of crawl to China and autographing it your thy drums king a real cool bra inchrist keep up grate work never retire please my ears And hart couldn't take it PS just got fromAmazon 1199 bt 1526 wsh I'm salivating over this metal candy love y'all fan for life pray to jam with you in heaven .tm
This is not even close to Stop the Bleeding, nor Psycho Surgery, nor Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance. TourniqueT stopped being great in the mid-90's, no offense Ted Kirkpatrick.
Totally agree mate.....the glory days have well and truly left the building. This song sounds like amateurs playing in some dingy basement. They couldn't write a song like something off stop the bleeding if their life depended on it.
only thing dead is what you chose to be - ask God and you'll receive - Tourniquet is one of the best Christian rocking metal bands I have heard. They're quite good just have years of music to sift through. Also, IMO they're even better than others like Metallica; no offense :P but I feel better after a loud Tourniquet song
LOL!! .. let's twist what you said as it being sarcastic and actually Rocking Awesome! .. to say awful I thought was a joke and spit all my coffee out in thinking such! oh what a laugh, thank you dude, but you should try and hear the talent they have with the instruments. the voice? Try the song "Oh Well" .. ;)
There lives the prince of peace who waits for you...

At first I was like hmm.. and that I was like oh yeah!

Solid comment, brotha. Many props. And the other two tracks you mentioned are some truly good, edgy, artful work like you said.
Damn straight, buddy!
I really miss the old Tourniquet :C
the guitar solos reminds me of marty friedman
Read the description: "All leads: Marty Friedman"
LOOOOOOOOL
ShaizaNinja Marty plays on the new record.
I gotta add that I love the guitar and of course the drums on this album. Great guitar work has been lacking for years! IMO
Está Band é muito top 😃
i agree the first 3 rock..never the same after gary lenaire left. that's why i listen to the voiceless album most.this album has a pathogenic structure/feel which makes me very happy and the sound or tone of crawl to china
Marty Friedman saves the day.
The best guitar solo by Marty Friedman ex Megadeth Yeahhhh!!!!
I'm here for one reason. MARTY FUCKING FRIEDMAN!!!!

JUST OPEN UP THE DOOOOOOR!!
Espectacular
Faodastico

it's sad that metalheads don't listen to it just because of its theme :/
people miss out because they get defensive when they hear a band is Christian, they think its the Radio style
dem riffs dou

He's saying out of all their albums that one was the most recent one he actually enjoyed.
The last album was Where Moth and Rust Destroy
That's my favorite album. Mostly the song "Where Moth and Rust Destroy" because of the epic - EPIC! - 5-6min window in the song that is nothing in the world of wonderful guitar love I never thought possible. Intense and fell in Love \,,/
Moth and rust destroy I felt was there worst album
It's Marty Friedman dude. kkkkkkkkk
[Nothing else to add]

na, Luke Easter is pretty good, You outta Check out Vanishing Lessons Album.
psycho surgery and pathogenic occular dissonance had the best vocal combinations
sorry, that was actually refined with "ark of suffering"
Agree, but I love so much the Diamond King vocal influence on Stop The Bleeding! It's like another facet of Tourniquet.
And how could you say that an opinion is wrong? It's an opinion.
Sommm

Ryan might do well in this actually. His screams could fit the style.

@@amandacsw I still think they should move on from Luke, but I will agree that they are still top-notch instrumentally.

Pathogenic ocular dissonance was the last album I liked, sadly.
It was the apex of their creativity. It still holds its own out if all thrash out there.
Agreed. Everything else just ended up as sewerage going down the drain sadly.
one of my fav bands but this isn't their best song imo. and not a better song than oh say, master of puppets. but still pretty damn awesome.
no

Lol this is so far from speed metal it's not funny. Might as well be a different band.
But it is. And I AM a doctor!!!
"This one song is better than anything Metallica done in there entire career."----YOU SHOULD VISIT A DOCTOR SOON!!!
amen - they can't compare with the random and awesomeness of TOURNIQUET!!! \,,/ WOOT!!
Sounds kinda like Metallica
better ^
This is not even close to Stop the Bleeding, nor Psycho Surgery, nor Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance. TourniqueT stopped being great in the mid-90's, no offense Ted Kirkpatrick.
So did most Christian bands when they saw Metallica's success with the Black Album. CM is dead
I'd say you haven't been paying attention.
different Albums are different for a reason..
wrong - you chose to see it dead - the Spirit is very much Alive
Totally agree mate.....the glory days have well and truly left the building. This song sounds like amateurs playing in some dingy basement. They couldn't write a song like something off stop the bleeding if their life depended on it.
Good band. Bad singer.
Singer isn't a good fit. Lyrics are lazy and unimaginitive.
Christian Metal is dead, we only get mediocre attempts. Really sad
Actually, on the contrary. Check out "Theocracy."
only thing dead is what you chose to be - ask God and you'll receive - Tourniquet is one of the best Christian rocking metal bands I have heard. that was horrible just awful
yeah, because you're a close minded atheist! Isn't it?
